Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Used to be a great place, got taken over by another rental agency in the past couple years. Tenants allowed to move in & stay that infested the entire building with ROACHES which had never happened before & landlord refuses to address. Quality declined IMMENSELY, prices stayed the same while comps were lowered.

It surprises me that Dragonfly has some bad reviews. I've lived in a few of their properties for 3 years now, and I wish I could keep living in one of their properties. Jamie answers emails promptly and kindly. The maintenance guys have always been really nice. Doug, the landlord, may seem a little cranky at first, but I think he is just a bit awkward.
There have even been a few times that I've paid my rent a few days late, and they have been fine with it (I think they give you until the 4th of the month, even though they say the 1st). Overall, Dragonfly Properties has been a great company to rent from.

Absolutely the worst property mgmt I have ever dealt with in over 10 years renting in Iowa City. The home wasn't cleaned or ready for us to move into, so we had to clean it before we could even move in. There were squirrels in the attic and bats in the walls. They are extremely unorganized, they have awful customer service and the maintanance/office actually stopped answering service calls/emails about repairs to our place!
To top it all off, during move out they decided to paint the exterior of the home. Every item I needed to move had to be covered with old sheets so as not to get paint on it and I had to park in the alley, so as not to get paint on my vehicle! They have absolutely NO respect for their renters or their rental properties!

I lived in a house downtown Iowa City and enjoyed it until Dragonfly took over and bought the house from our private landlords. The first year was okay, not great but no major complaints I can remember. The second year however, we had a roommate fall through leaving a bedroom open and available for rent. Management sat us down for a meeting and assured us they would find a right fit and wouldn't stick a random person in our house, as we were 4 girls 20-22. Dragonfly signed a 35+ man and his 100 lb German Shepard into our house!
Without telling us! He regularly smoked marijuana and made us uncomfortable for various other reasons. Dragonfly never addressed this issue when asked, simply ignored emails regarding it. As for maintenance, they were somewhat prompt but nothing was actually fixed, just "bandaid"-ed. When our garbage disposal broke they yelled at us for putting potatoes down it. potatoes are soft but whatever. Overall, unpleasant experience being a college student forced to live with a creepy marijuana smoking middle aged man and his disobedient giant dog.
