Don Asher is a terrible property manager. I receive an HOA violation for a dirty driveway a month after I power washed it. I also routinely power wash it at least twice per year. I asked the property manager to point out what is dirty and she has nothing to say. It was never dirty. The common area which the HOA is required to maintain has dirty and broken fences and sidewalks that are borderline black. How about you send yourself a violation and hire someone to clean the common areas and not my already clean driveway.

In my opinion, Don Asher is one of the WORST management companies in central Florida. The entire company is a joke. Our Association hired them not even 6 months ago and since then we are on our 3rd manager when the last 2 quit. Emails are not responded to in a timely manner and calls are not returned. Not to mention that their VP is extremely unprofessional, childish and incompetent. Just look at how he responds below. His response speaks for itself and shows the type of person running this company. Look elsewhere for a management company.

I came back from college for spring break to see my mom and find a notice on her door. Dealing with Don Asher for the last 3 years has been a joke. The Property managers have nasty attitudes in handling situations such as lawn care. Wanting to Raise the rent more than 10% on a single income household is beyond me. There is no new addition of a house member, pet, or even any remodeling that has been done.

These people expect my mom to pay $2,000 a month for a rental property that is almost 20 years old, and is not even worth $400,000. It seems to me the property manager is in violation of the fair housing act on basis of RACE. One of the old property managers by the name of Sarah told my mother to her face the kind of ambiance she brought to the community was because she is a black woman.

My mom who is a nurse who does a lot more to help people than property managers, caught COVID less than 2 months ago and notified the property manager who did not waive any late rent fees, notified her of a $225-$250 rent increase, and turns around and gives a unlawful lease termination saying the house is going to be sold, which I feel if proceeded with, I myself will come for this property manager legally and have her real estate license revoked. I can see why you all have 2 stars.

I have been a homeowner at one of Dan Asher and Associates largest accounts: Villas at Lakeside (in Oviedo, FL) with 290+ units managed. I have been a homeowner here for 2 1/2 years and have found the property management provided by Don Asher to be SEVERELY lacking in: o Maintaining a good/positive relationship with the community/homeowners; o Dealing with problems/inquiries in a professional and efficient manner; and o Providing TRANSPARENCY to the community/homeowners regarding their actions and decisions.

Overall I have found Don Asher and associates to be extremely unprofessional, subpar and worthy of their dismissal from this property. Don Asher was recently fired (as of 3/1/2022) and they are not going gracefully. Their/our current project manager Marolene Best has only been the property manager for 3 MONTHS and ultimately led the charge leading to the firing of Don Asher.

I thought the previous project manager Jeanny Tejada, was the worst but this one takes the cake. A maintenance staff person, Will Caraballo has been employed by Don Asher at Villas at Lakeside for 10 years and is being treated poorly by the company he has served. This community is outraged by this loved an exemplary employee. If Don Asher wants to survive this catastrophe then they need to make a serious inventory of their shortcomings and strive to hire a better quality property management staff.

This unfortunately is the management company for our HOA presently. Their incompetence has caused us many late fees as well as lawsuits filed against the HOA due to the lack of follow-through when contracted to do a job. Do NOT use them, they will end up turning your community into a cesspool and creating more problems than you can imagine. This has to be one of the absolute worst property management companies in Florida.

This was a long time ago, 1996-2000, before Google reviews. I left the Navy and we hired this company as property managers to rent our beautiful home in Oveido. Dean Asher was our agent. They basically rented our home, taking a huge cut, and made zero effort to protect our investment. What they told the renter was last month's rent they told us was a security deposit.

The renter kept large dogs contrary to terms we agreed on and the entire house was filthy. When we decided to sell, it turns out the fine print required us to use Asher as the selling agent. We had no knowledge of the terrible condition of the home until it was under contract and repairs were demanded by the home inspection. We made an emergency trip to conduct repairs and discovered the home to be a smelly mess with tall grass in the yard despite paying for a house cleaning.

We learned from our old neighbors that it sold for 20% less than smaller comps due to the condition. After our repairs and cleaning it ourselves, the buyer already under contract could not believe the difference! An investment that should have paid off well was a losing financial hardship thanks to Don Asher and associates.

Horrible company to deal with. Incompetent, lazy. The home we have owned for 20 years and used as a rental for the last 5 gets ridiculous notices that we handle. Things about weeds in flower beds --but no pictures of the issue. We were selling the home and just needed clearance from Lisa Krivan--who apparently has no supervisor. No answers to emails or calls to myself or my realtor. Now closing has been put off and jeopardizing my $277,000. DO NOT USE THEM for your community. Petty--and non-responsive.

My HOA uses Don Asher as their property manager. Lisa and Jordan are our property managers. My home borders a nature preserve owned by the HOA. 2 weeks ago, a tree from that preserve fell on my neighbor and my property causing damage to our fences. When I first reported it, Lisa didn't respond to my emails and phone calls. When I spoke to Jordan, she told me it was a county tree, which the county quickly discovered belonged to the HOA.

When Lisa responded, she said she would need to board to approve funds to clean up the tree and repair the fence. A week went by without an update for Lisa or Jordan. The following week, it took days to get Lisa to respond, saying the board wants their insurance to confirm if I should go through my insurance company. It's been another week, I sent 4 follow up emails, still I can't even get an email back. I'm not mad that I may have to go through my insurance, I am mad that I can't get a response back on an urgent matter.

Horrible experience with this property management company. The worst. I wish there were 0 stars to Rate. The property manager in my community denied my request for improvements on my home without giving me any reason. When I ask for a reason she would never answer or give me reasons that don't make any sense, like " its just not approved". She was also rude at times and made us feel like just because she didn't like us or our background she was denying our request. Very very unprofessional! This company needs new employees. Don't bother filling out an application if you are of a minority race. We were told by a senior manager (who also owner the property in which we were applying) we would be fine for the property and to apply. She saw my husband was a minority (he had to upload his license) and it all changed with no explanation.

A leak started in my living room and spread to my closet. The ceiling started falling. I reached out to Jim Payne. I personally went to the Condo association office myself and they had maintenance at least take down drywall and put up plastic so it can dry. IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY to reach out to anyone and come back and advise management. You expect the rent money on time however do not care about the tenets.

I advised the manager the condo owners have. I have medical conditions and that is why they jumped on it. This is the only the recent issues. Tub need to be refinished 2 YEARS AGO. Still nothing. I truly feel we are treated like second class citizens but want to keep raising rent without doing any work. I have pictures over the years of EVERYTHING that is/was wrong

I have never dealt with such am inept property management company. They denied my rental because my former rental places didn't send them in writing that I had a good rental History. I checked with both places and they were never contacted. Me and my co-applicants have great credit, no collections, no marks on credit about evictions. There is even a recent paid off mortgage on the credit.

Our income is way over their requirement. I asked for my $150 back for the application and was told no. It isn't my fault that Samantha the "property manager" was too lazy do do her job. PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL THEM SAMANTHA! This has caused me and my co-applicants undue hardship as we were all prepared to move in next week. I will be calling an attorney next.

We lived in two different apartments managed by Don Asher over the past 8 years. The reason we moved out of the last one was because we bought a house, otherwise, we would surely still be living in a Don Asher managed apartment. During our relationship with Don Asher & Associates, we had the pleasure of working with Lisa Battaglini as our property manager.

Throughout that time, we were very happy with the support and communications we had with Lisa. Whenever we had issues or problems, like a faucet leaking or HVAC failure, she was quick to respond to our request and to ensure the issues were resolved in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend renting an apartment through Don Asher & Associates and, if possible, to use Lisa Battaglini as your property manager.

Awful service. No follow through when promising to follow up on issues. Can never get a hold of anyone in office that can assist me when needed. Always leave a voice mail or email. Had leak in unit below and Judah had assistant call owners. Assistant gave wrong information, had people upset and calling for Plumbers to come out. Not upset with assistant, but for a major issue like that the property manager should have made the calls herself. Most property management companies are not the best, but this one is one the especially bad ones.

If I could give this rental company 0 stars I would! I AGREE with every single negative complain listed below. AVOID AVOID AVOID this company at all cost. They are by far the most scheming management/rental company I have ever dealt with! From dragging their feet to fix an AC unit in the middle of summer to charging for having to take a blind OUT of a box.

They didn't have to buy anything or do anything at move out because I purchased the blinds. When we moved in the tenants before me "must have" had a dog pet Donna's verbiage and the blinds we chewed at the bottom. I replaced them and was never reimbursed and left them with the extra for the next person because the property is poorly made.

The sliding door stays off track and causes the blinds to have a lot of wear and tear. I took a video of the property at move out and apparently there was a hole that magically appeared after the keys were turned in. So just waiting now for attorneys to do their job because it seems like this is not the first time they've done this. Definitely avoid them if you can!

I had no choice when I moved in because I was relocating but I definitely wanted out well before my lease was over but they wanted almost 5k with was more than it was just to stay out the remainder of the lease. I've heard similar horror stories about HOA's run by Don Asher and how they are very poorly kept, lawns are never mowed. They refuse to have property up kept outside as well.

Just over all sorry/lazy people. Never have proper notice for inspections and if you don't reply Quickly enough Donna will just assume it's ok and text back saying this day I am doing inspections without even giving 24 hours. I could go on and on but just avoid them if you can!

Avoid this company at all cost! You can't communicate with him via phone no one ever answers the phone or return their calls! You can't depend on them to inspect your neighborhood and follow up with resolving issues. Extremely hard to communicate with. Sold our neighborhood on their services with the promise of a website where we could manage our individual HOA accounts, see any fines, put in ACC request etc. etc. It was promised three years ago and we still have not received it!

If I could give zero stars I would. Stay far away from Don and Asher and Lisa Battaglini. I wish I would have read reviews and researched before involving myself with this company. Lisa Battaglini is a terrible human being. She was ok with letting me walk into an unclean property with dead roaches everywhere on my move in day. She inspected the property without myself present the day before my move in and signed off that it was clean.

When trying to call her she wouldn't answer my phone calls but read all my text messages. Never once did I receive an apology for the way the property was on my move in day instead she asked "do you want me to call my cleaning lady?" Should a property not already be clean when moving in? Especially when the property manager inspected it the day before?

According to her she didn't see the dead roaches on the floor or the ones in the cabinets, window sills, or the ones behind the fridge or stove along with the dirt there. Instead of being professional and apologizing for what I walked into she was nasty and defensive. Truly one of the worst experiences of my life. Needless to say I did not move into the property but she refuses to give my security deposit. If you have a bad feeling about someone please trust your instincts, I wish I would have trusted mine!

I rented a property through Don Asher & Co for three years and for the most part had a good experience. My initial property manager, Marty Purdy was fantastic! Friendly, easy to talk to, quick to respond to any maintenance issues. The company uses an web portal to submit maintenance requests and they always responded timely. You can also set up auto-pay of your rent or pay manually online which is also very convenient - Gone are the days of having to drop a check off in a lock box.

When Marty left, my new manager started our relationship off stating that she needed to make an inspection of the property. Shortly after this change I relocated out of state near the completion of my final lease. I ultimately received my full security deposit back, minus a small amount deducted from my pet deposit for some carpet cleaning - which was fair and valid.

One thing to note: When you sign your lease, they require all new tenants to deduct around $200 of your deposit for grout cleaning after you move out unless you provide documentation that you had that service completed yourself. As a management company, they are convenient when it comes to payment rent and submitting maintenance requests. Your ultimate experience will all depend on your property manager.

They manage the HOA for one of my properties. I find it almost impossible to reach their bookkeeper. It took me three days until I finally got a hold of her to answer a question about my HOA payments. Everytime I called she was either out for lunch, gone for the day, or with a client. I sent her one email, left two voice messages, and spoke with the office manager three times.

There was one instance when I was put on hold for 20 minutes, and I finally gave up. Today I finally found her, after expressing my frustration to the office manager. It shouldn't be this hard to get an answer about HOA dues.

If you rent from these people take pictures before you move in, keep all receipts and document IN WRITING every little thing because when you move out they will try to nail you with things that happened to the house from the beginning of time that had nothing to do with you. Do not trust these people and cover your own back. I have never "not" received my deposit back after moving out from anywhere I have rented in the past 10 years and these people are crooks!

Don Asher was a disaster as a management company for our condo association; our 'associate' Karen couldn't be bothered to even show up for meetings consistently, and in 3 years we never got a complete financial picture from them. We're still waiting on our total accounts after we've switched and I have no real hope of ever getting that information. Avoid them at all costs.
