Capitol Management is TERRIBLE! I feel so hopeless living in a community with terrible management. I called them every day for 2 weeks and they didn't answer the phone. I got an email at the end of the second week saying, "Sorry we were in meetings. What can we help you with?" I asked them to add my fiance on our call box over a month ago and they still haven't despite my follow up emails.

Our fire alarm went off in our building at 10pm and we were told by the fire department it can't be shut off until the next say so the residents had to get hotels. 1 resident called the management emergency line and they were not answering. To top it off, I called management for hotel reimbursement and they told me it's a new manager and they never announced or notified residents that our manager switched out so I've been sending emails to a manager who no longer works there anymore.

Late on HOA documents. Did not advise board on real estate law changes for HOA's

By far the most atrocious company for both property management and HOA management. Here are a series of issue: 1) they do not answer their phone 2) they do not answer their fax 3) they respond to their emails at fancy 4) they are rude and unprofessional in all communication and conversation For a community management property that champions themselves as an ideal organization managing properties in NoVA they have no professionalism. I was not involved in my HOA before but now that I know we do business with these folks I will be an adamant advocate to remove these folks from my organizational management

Potential residents, know that Capitol Companies has no issue with your car getting towed on any of their properties if you accidentally park in the wrong parking spot. You will get no warning; they won't reach out to you to let you know; their handlers won't reach out -- your car will simply sit on the towing company's lot without your knowledge, which means the car may potentially sit there for months without your knowledge and you'll get charged for it.

And why is that? Because they don't have a system set in place to avoid such scenarios, even if they weren't the ones who called and it was a resident instead. And because they simply just don't care. You represent $$$ to them and that's it. Buyer beware.

I called at the last minute attempting to get my new parking permits and visitor pass. They understood my situation and their effort began instantly. Everyone was polite and attentive. The professional that I dealt with for the most part returned my emails within minutes. She emailed me the proper form, I filled it out, and sent a photo of the application back via email. She responded immediately, assuring me that my permits will arrive soon. They did, as promised. Professional, friendly people to deal with. Thank you all.

I never give a 5 star, but Capitol is the best management partner we've had in over 20 years owning multiple properties and sitting on Boards. To that point we've worked with 6 such companies both commercial UOA and single family HOA, and when one needs to be replaced I would always recommend Capitol. I have found that they are as powerful as a Board allows them to be. Our Association members have overwhelmingly endorsed their service.

This management company has got to be the worst I have ever dealt with, and I have been apart of many HOA's and working for a homebuilder, am highly involved in how they should operate. Their intentions are merely to collect money, collect fees, and not to service there clients, who keep them employed. If you are builder don't hire them, as they will cause you more headache than good.

Truly some of the nastiest liars I've ever dealt with. They want to charge sky high prices for a 40-plus year old community, and provided very little in return. Their relationship with the community HOA was disgraceful. They're only there to get paid, and then punish tenants if you actually need help. Under their watch, a senior citizen with heart problems was almost taken to court for not being able to pull down a dilapidated fence - and they did nothing to help.

The primary breadwinner in another household lost his job - the spouse was on disability - and instead of working out a payment plan for past due HOA fees, they took them to court. I came very close to pressing charges on the Property Manager myself, because snooping into someone's (tall) fenced backyard is illegal. Their negligence and mismanagement also almost cost me the sale of my house, all because they filled out the wrong paperwork and didn't want to fix it.

What a joke every time I call I get redirected to a new person who is assigned to our community and they've yet to follow through on a single request that we have made. They make it sound like you're bothering them when you call about anything and never follow up with you via email or phone you have to keep checking in with them, which is fine if progress is being made but sadly that's usually not the case.

Everything in our neighborhood looks so dated trashy and I really wish I had taken this into consideration before purchasing in this neighborhood. I thought certain things like flowered bed signage etc. was taken care of by the property management but apparently that's not the case I'm starting to wonder if all we're paying for is the pool a few months out of the year.

The owner of this company is one of the most unprofessional people I've EVER came across. His lack of interpersonal skills as an owner and manager of the location was appalling! His staff isn't far behind the owner. and the so called accountant wana-be is a COMPLETE IDIOT! The turn-over at this company is mind bugling & that's usually a really BAD sign when a company has rapid turnover like this one.

These guys do have a nice SCAM going on here at Capitol Companies.when you send your HOA payment in, it happens to MYSTERIOUSLY either get LOST or BE LATE and take over one week or more for the payment to be delivered within the same town (it's literally less than two miles away from where I live!) and then they add on a LATE FEE to your account and it's their word against yours.

When I appealed the late fees on my account, they started to give me the run-around and pointing blame on others. I EVEN provided proof that it was mailed 5 days prior to its due date and they claim that it takes longer than one week for US Mail to deliver this within the same town (that's BS and we all know it). They're straight up THIEVES.STEALING from hard working people to line-up their own pockets with EXTRA CASH from LATE FEES they wrongfully charge all these HOA accounts they have.

Think about this SCAM on LARGE SCALE.think how fast these illegitimate late fees can add up to A LOT OF MONEY for them to keep. License to STEAL i guess. They're very dishonest and extremely rude and unprofessional. If you or someone you know is shopping around for an HOA company to do business with, I definitely DO NOT recommend these guys. You know courtesy goes a long way and how you treat people tells a lot about who you are, your morals, and how you run your business.

This guy threatened to physically remove me from his office, just because he didn't like to hear what I had to say. Just didn't have time to stay there and call the police today. He was lucky I had a meeting to get to.
