My partner and I rented from Cherry for four years and would have continued to rent from them if they would have had a home available that matched what we were looking for. I found them responsive with maintenance requests, responding sometimes the same day, if not the next. Additionally, we found our rent price for our neighborhood very affordable, especially considering the Durham market. Overall, a good company that I would recommend.

Rented from Cherry Realty for seven years the best realty company I've ever worked with was very easy-going and very easy to work with and a very pleasant and friendly staff any time there was anything wrong at the house that we rented they were always very prompt to send somebody out to fix it. After we moved out we left the house clean and ready for someone else to rent.

After Cherry did their house inspection they were very prompt to return the security posit couldn't have been more pleased to rent from them for so many years. Would highly recommend Cherry to anyone that's looking for a good realtor company. Thanks again to Mr. Cherry and all the staff there. From Joel and Sarah Robison.

I rented through this property management company when my family first moved back to Durham. I was unfamiliar with the area we moved to, but it seemed pretty safe. The first townhouse we applied for and put a deposit on they gave up and proceeded to sway us to another one down the street. We were really eagared to move in and settle down, because at the time I was 8 months pregnant and wanted to have some place prepared for my newborn. Well, lets just say when it was time to move in we had to basically clean up before the move.

The house smelled and there were roaches everywhere. I wanted to leave immediately but the hassle of geeting our money back and finding another place was too much to think about at the time. We informed Cherry and they said they would spray and send someone out to clean. Horrible cleaning and extermination! I had to end up hiring a service. Let's fast forward to when I had to call the police because someone broke in through our kitchen window.

I told the lady at Cherry's front desk and she replied to me that " it was probably someone you know" REALLY someone I know? Little did she know my renting on Bridgefield was only a short term place until our house was ready for us to move into. Sorry ma'am but most of the people I know are well educated businessmen and women who don't need to crawl through kitchen windows. This company is racsit and only out to get money. Beware

I appreciate Cherry Realty's promptness when it comes to maintenance requests and their willingness to work with potential and current tenants. They have also recently created an online pay feature where you can pay rent online, which is convenient. They are a property management and realty company that is efficient and provides great customer service. The ladies at the front of the office are also very pleasant to work.

No professionalism at all. They started off good of course since I was A new customer but when it was time for me to move they decided it was okay to keep my deposit of 1,595. The ONLY damage in the apartment was the laundry door! That isn't $1595 of damage. I tried to talking to management and they are no better than the people they hire. The lady is Rude af & the male is just there. Never Again would I rent from them. Oh & there property doesn't look like the pics. They have really BAD water issues and major damage in the neighborhood. Good luck

We have had a great experience with Cherry Realty! Lynwood helped us throughout the entire processes of finding the perfect place to rent. Once we signed with Cherry Realty they have been quick to responded to any questions. I would recommend working with Lynwood and renting from Cherry Realty.

This local property management company is so great to work with. They know the town better than a lot of other agents out there. Also because of their 40-year track record, they have good ties to some interesting one of the kind commercial and residential properties. They know what they are doing and are very trustworthy. 5 Stars for sure!

This the the best group of professional real estate agents in Durham! These folks helped me with the sale of a very complex property and "went above and beyond the call of duty" to assist with selling my house. They were EXTREMELY knowledgable on market conditions in RDU, have a great network with other realtors, have a slew of handyman/painters/repairmen for any repairs that you may need, and understand "what it takes" to buy or sell a home in this area.

They make very expert recommendations, and above all, were very patient and delightful folks to deal with. I had used 3 other realtors before I found Cherry Realty, and was PRETTY FRUSTRATED. But the minute I signed with Cherry, they made recommendations and suggestions the past 3 realtors had never thought of! If you are looking for a professional group of realtors, who will be your best advocate, and represent your property to its fullest potential, call Cherry. Hats off to Lynwood Cherry. The BEST realtor in the RDU area! Extremely positive experience. Five star all the way!

Very dependable leasing company. Pleasant to deal with. Have rented with them twice and find them to be prompt on repairs, they are great communicators and care about the properties they lease and their tenants. No bad experiences here, would rent or buy from them based on my own experiences with them.

Don't even bother going to these people. They are deceptive and shady. They charge you a $35 application fee and when you were told one thing about a property, they come up with something totally different and unexpected. Stay away from these people!

Lynwood and Lyn are knowledgeable and experienced property managers with a great understanding of their local market and their customers. They are firm but fair and along with their able staff are able to market the properties effectively, work with the tenants and provide excellent attention to details, which is very important. Very happy with their continued high level of service.

Do NOT rent from these slumlords. Background: my FIL is a NC building inspector and my father is an electrician and firefighter, so we have knowledge of building, fire, and electrical code. There were a few things in need of repair, and stupidly we believed they would be fixed prior to our moving in: 1. Bathroom fan. If there's no bathroom window, there must be an exhaust fan.

They finally fixed it, but only because I read them the code. 2. Windows. Four windows in the house were nearly impossible to open--annoying downstairs, dangerous upstairs. Once finally open, they would slam right back down. The manager literally told me they would get us "some sticks to prop open the windows in case of fire." I threatened a lawsuit, so they replaced them, after 8 months of fighting. 3.

Front door lock. The top half of the front door is glass, making it unsafe to have a turn lock for a deadbolt. The doorknob itself was really loose. Mr. Cherry asked my husband for toothpicks because he wanted to shove them next to the doorknob to hold it steady. We ended up fixing the knob and deadbolt ourselves. 4. Mailbox. The lid would not close.

After the 3rd letter from the mailman threatening to stop delivering our mail "if we couldn't do any better", Mr. Cherry told me he got a mailbox from the dump. It had no flag, so we had to threaten that our rent check probably wouldn't be picked up to get it fixed. 5. Kitchen floor. They promised new laminate if the kitchen floor could not be cleaned.

After 3 weeks of watching me refuse to walk in my own kitchen without shoes, my husband replaced the floor himself. 6. General cleaning. This never happened. My mother literally spent 3 hours cleaning the refrigerator and countless hours scrubbing down the kitchen cabinets. We replaced the cigarette burn-covered toilet seats, the tile in the bathrooms was disgusting, the caulk around the bathroom sinks was brown, even the mirrors were covered in a greasy film.

Over the time we were there we had new issues as well: 1. Shower. When we moved in, there was a small hole in the the shower, that they sealed with silicone gel. Slowly, we noticed that the hole had split bigger, and a long crack was forming. One Saturday night, my husband was soaking his knee in the tub and I came downstairs to find the kitchen floor soaked from water leaking through the ceiling.

No one responded to the emergency call we made, so on Monday I called again. First, they told us to use the other shower--RIGHT. There was ONE. They finally agreed to send their handyman out to fix it. His "solution" was to use plastic flashing on the bottom of our tub and attach it with silicone and duct tape. It was like this for over a month until the flashing broke free and I nearly fell in the shower one day. 2. Grass. Phyllis (front desk) told us the grass was cut regularly, but if it got too high, we could call and they'd cut it. Phyllis quit about 3 months after we moved in, probably because she had a conscience and couldn't live with the unethical business practices. Apparently, "regularly" meant once a month.

There was one slightly rainy period where it was almost 2 months between times that the lawn folks came. When we called about the grass, we were told the landscapers would be there "tomorrow". Eventually, we bought our own mower, and handled it ourselves. 3. Refrigerator. The bottom section on the door of the refrigerator had a broken bar. A pre-move in repair was promised, but again, this wasn't vital, so we dropped it. Then, the refrigerator stopped working.

They did not believe us, literally told us we were making it up. After 3 days of our relentless calls, they finally came to "check on it". They told us they would have to talk to the owner. They called the following Monday and said a fridge would be delivered on Thursday. On Friday, since no fridge arrived, I called and was told Home Depot must be backlogged, it would probably be delivered today.

I called my local HD to get a delivery estimate, but they had no purchase history in Cherry's, ours, or the owner's name. I called every HD and Lowes within a 60 mile radius, and both corporate offices before asking why Cherry lied to me. I was again told I was making it up, and it didn't need to be replaced. My husband told them if we did not have a refrigerator by Monday we would purchase one and would be turning in the receipt as the following month or two's rent.

I know the above is lengthy, and if you actually read this, I am sure you are asking yourself why we didn't just move. We tried. We were told if we broke our lease, we would forfeit our security deposit and would be responsible for paying rent until a new tenant was found--potentially a year's worth of rent. I can not encourage you enough to not consider renting. They are truly slumlords and quite frankly, I do not know how they can sleep at night.

We are renting a private house from Cherry Realty and they have always been very considerate to us. Repairs and upgrades have been done and Lynwood is always understanding. Sometimes we had to be patient with non-emergency repairs, that is the only negative things. But if we kept calling it would get done.
