January 6th at 12:45 am I made a call to Lisa about a property they were listing and I was very interested. I was told that I probably won't want the property because nobody really has liked it and the location. I asked about the price firmness as it relates to time on the market and she insisted that the owner doesn't want to sell and further more, the price will most likely go up.

I ended my pursuit there (4 minute conversation) and cannot imagine a listing agent representing anyone in this way. Makes one wonder how many other sales have been lost? Update as I had the date incorrect.

SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! They rented my house to a friend from high school plus a couple of other people. Told me it was a married couple with their parents! Was not kept informed on items /damages done to house. Damages to house after 1 year: Had to replace 4 garages doors (ran into garage doors and a tree in the yard) Holes in the walls from trying to by pass electrical Holes punched in doors Replace 2 doors Replace 3 levels of carpet 2 furnaces Wood floor damaged from water sitting on the floor Kitchen shelving damaged From cooking their drugs Also because they did not send a breakdown reconciliation of their deposit not coming back to them - We were taken to. Court and another $1000 was paid to tenants!

Buyer Beware is a UNDERSTATEMENT! We rented a home from this property management company in the Claremont Housing Community off of Bethany Blvd and it has been a nightmare from day #1. We were never told that you can't park in the driveway or even on the public street. The HOA called and said that my husband could park near the clubhouse about 3/4 mile away. Are you kidding me?

We lived in the nightmare for 4 months, then they keep $1425 of our deposit to pay for the parking fee that was added by the HOA. We would have NEVER rented this home had we been told that we couldn't park in the driveway or even the public street! What? We had to hire an attorney to write letters on our behalf. We are filing in Small Claims Court for harassment that we received on a daily basis from the neighbors, HOA and this horrible Property Management Company. See you in Court!

Ignore the paid ads and look at the real reviews. This real estate company is the epitome of why real estate agents and management companies have a bad reputation. Lisa is rude, unprofessional, and does not deliver on promises. There is no organization, and continuously fails to provide basic tenant services as required by the Fair Housing Act. This is a terribly run company, period. Do not rent or deal with them at all.

I had a really terrible experience with this Property Management company. Whenever I would reach out, the primary point of contact, Lisa, was very rude, and generally dismissive, even when I had the property owners best interest at heart. Each of the other workers there (summer interns etc.) were extremely helpful and kind, but each discussion always ended up being a concern with Lisa.

For example, the ceiling of my unit started leaking.and after 24hours without hearing an update, I gave them a call, and was essentially scolded for not being patient and was told that it was out of her hands, when I was really just trying to protect the health and safety of myself and the unit from being hurt by the water. It turned out that the ownership between the property management company and HOA was confusing and took some time - but as a tenant and living in the space, I just needed to know that.

A couple of other examples: it took days to get a response when the dish washer started leaking and was ruining the linoleum floors, when I called to say that that there was standing water outside of the garage below my unit, it was dismissed as outside of their control, when I was preparing to move out, they put a forwarding note in my mailbox in the middle of the month when I was still living there and had paid for the rest of that month and entered my unit for a closing inspection without prior notifying me and seeking my approval, and when I moved out and forgot to stop the gas service (that part was my bad), I was told that it was no problem that no new tenant had put it in their name since it was being sold. Finally, I was contacted multiple times after I had already paid about my delinquent payment when I was living in the unit, and was even recently contacted 2-months after moving out about my payment being past-due.

In short, the management of this company is disorganized and rude, and their respect and diligence in protecting the property of their unit owners is extremely poor as a management company.

If you are considering to rent, buy, or do ANY business with chris balmes properties, We highly suggest you reconsider. One does not need to have much interaction to notice the lack of professionalism this company has. In particular, with daughter Lisa who is ruining her mothers family business with her inability to properly communicate, to her highly reactive attitude, to her abundant ability to over fabricate, finally to her unethical business practices.

She is inept and unprofessional. Consider this a fair warning. Do not do business with these people. Ask their past employees as they have many as no one can handle working with her for more than a year. Shes a mess. The company is a mess. They are crooks. Its that simple.

I'm still in shock from the phone conversation I just had with this realtor about a home in Independence. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She acted as if my call was an inconvenience even though I had attempted to contact her over the last 2 weeks (2 emails and a voice-mail she never responded to). She acted as though asking to view the property and talk about rental criteria before putting in an application was asking too much.

She wanted me to fill out the application (with the non refundable FIFTY dollars each!) sight unseen. Meanwhile she told me there are a "few" others that did just that. Wait. Back up. You already collected these fees from several people, and wanted more?!? What kind of business ethics do you have?! I finally had to end the call because she was so out of line. I would not suggest doing business with this person. Unethical, unprofessional, argumentative, and obviously doesn't have a problem with ripping people off.

BEWARE. We had our vacation completely ruined thanks to DOUBLE BOOKING by this property management company: Chris Balmes Properties (http://chrisbalmesproperties.com/). Imagine arriving at your location with 2 small children (ages 2 years and 10 months) in the evening ready to settle in for the night only to find that it was already occupied with other renters.

Now you have NO PLACE to stay and you need to frantically find a place for the evening. Bear in mind that this property is about 1.5hrs from Portland. We had to drive back to Portland in the middle of the night, with 2 small children, to find a place to stay. The worst part is, they have not even refunded my original booking cost yet. I had to file a complain with my credit card company which is still in process. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE we did in trusting our vacation rental with Chris Balmes Properties. Find another place to avoid a double booking nightmare. Avoid this property: https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p689009vb

Chris and Lisa Balmes run a very tight ship. They are very professional and know more about real estate than any other agents I have met. I would not want to be on the other end of a home purchase transaction when it comes to negotiation. They do their research and know exactly how to get what is best for their clients. In my opinion, there is nobody better to have in your corner. If you have been referred to Chris and/or Lisa you will not be disappointed. They will make you want to be a client for life!

Because I had to give a star I gave them one. Lisa is basically a thief and a liar. Her company is run with such disregard to anyone else and all she cares about is taking your money. There is no sort of ethic here or professionalism. Being in real estate one would expect to know the Oregon tenant laws. At the end I won yet unfortunately she still continues to do business.

Your better off staying clear away from her or maybe you too will end up where I did. MOVE on and do not have her as a manager if renting nor an agent to sell your home! she will seriously cause nothing but a headache! Fact she still has a job is obviously because its a family business. Be smart and stay clear!
