Working with Meena and Brian was such a wonderful experience. I had to sell my late mother's home and it was such an overwhelming process and seemed like an impossible task before these two came into the picture. They were caring and understanding and explained everything to me in ways that I could understand since this was my first time having to sell a house.

They were quick and efficient and everything was completed within a few weeks. I can finally take a sigh of relief and grieve my mother's passing and I owe it to Meena and Brian and for that I am truly thankful. Thank you two so much for everything it really means a lot to me from the bottom of my heart!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Jim was one of the worst real estate agents I've ever worked with - his service was very bad, but also ended up lying to us, which we found out after speaking directly with the seller. Don't make the same mistake we did - avoid Cook Realty if you can.

We had the worst experience we've ever had with any real estate agent. For example, our agent gave us a confirmation via email that the seller would do something, but when talking to the seller the agent never even spoke to them about the item (i.e. our agent lied to us). This is one example of many. Avoid at all costs!

Hello! So I have zero experience with realty. Amanda Jackson and Edna Lee both helped me with my first time trying to buy a place, and provided me with the best possible experience I could have had. I ran into many road blocks and the entire time they were there supporting me. Any question I had, they either had an answer or got back to me with in the hour after them finding the answer.

If you are a first time buyer or an experienced one, I have faith that both of these amazing realtors would give you the best possible service. They educated me on every little aspect about the home buying process, made me feel comfortable and valued.

Edna and Amanda were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend going with either or both of these two realtors, they stuck with us through a lot of difficulties and helped us find the perfect place for us. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome and i would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of a realtor.

As a real estate professional as well, I work with a lot of agents but working with Atchan Van Pelt was incredible. She was very knowledgeable and was very quick to respond and always put the buyers needs above and beyond. I recommend working with her and hope to work with them in the future.

This company was not professional at all. Not honest. Beware if you use them for anything - especially for your property needs. Would not recommend them. They accept payments for credit check but DO NOT take a look at their application - all money for this company. They do not return calls when needed.

First time buyer and best experience possible. I worked with Amanda Jackson, who was just fantastic. She was both incredibly responsive and proactive (both with me and when working with seller realtors), and patiently walked me through all parts of the process, beginning with the general buying process, navigating through the piles and piles of paperwork, and even talking me through my own indecisiveness at times, explaining everything to me in terms an inexperienced buyer could easily understand / handle.

She was great at listening to my house needs and wants list, accommodated my crazy work schedule, and ultimately found me what I consider to be my ideal home. I couldn't have asked for a better experience--5+ stars for Amanda!

Amanda Jackson with cook reality found us our dream home and has been for us and with us throughout the whole home buying process and beyond. She is the best realtor I've ever come across, to this day she is still helpful to us and we bought our home over a year ago. Real estate is somewhat of a touchy subject due to expectations and emotion. Similar to everyone else stepping out on the ledge of selling their home and buying a new one, we wanted to make sure we were making the right decision for our family. We decided to go with Cook Realty due to reputation and the agent, Sue Haley. Sue sold our home above what we expected and she did so with comfort and confidence.

The process of selling our home and transitioning to our dream home couldn't have been better. Sue, and her teammate Amanda Jackson, worked very hard to make our dream possible. Not only did they sell our house at fair market value, they pushed our offers to the front of the line. The Cook School of Realty is Top Notch! The in person classes and online quiz combo really helped me grasp the concepts of real estate and prioritize the important concepts for the test. High ethical standards here and passionate teachers that are also great agents. I would be working here but I ended up living and working further north. Fantastic place to work on your licensing, interview prep and opportunities to join their team after licensing.

Horrible customer service. Rude, understaffed and mismanaged office staff. They do not see renters as people, only dollar signs. Whoever is the first to put in an application gets the property regardless of how diligently someone has tried to get a showing or ahold of someone over the phone to get more information. I am not willing to invest $60 in an application for a rental I haven't even seen yet.

I tried for weeks to see a property that I was told wasn't ready yet and had no applications submitted and when I was finally given a showing was told it already had an application pending. How?! Furthermore, this property is completely outdated in need of repairs and they are renting it as is at the high end of the rental market.

Just spoke with Sandy about renting a duplex and the interaction was so unpleasant. I'll never consider buying or renting a home from cook because of how rude and condescending this woman was too me. Absolutely no respect for their clientele, stay far away from this company!

They had multiple chances to sell my home and blew it every time. I listed it with another agent and it was sold above asking price in 3 days. Do not trust them! I also heard that their property management services are the worst in town, and I am not surprised. #awful

This all started about a month and a half ago with us wanting to sell our house getting a referral from a close friend who has used Cooks in the past. We met Lesley de Barrena-Sarobe in person after our second phone conversation. She came over and explained the process to us on selling and buying a new house. She literally held our hand and guided us in making the best decision.

She was always on time and extremely professional and had things done in very timely manner. Not at all did we feel pressured or rushed. Throughout the whole process we felt that we where in excellent hands and that she had our best interest at heart. I would highly recommend her for all of your real estates needs. Thank you for our great sale and helping us getting into the house of our dreams.

The Cook agency is simply the best example of an unethical business run by a nest of complete crooks. The agency operates within a nucleus of continuous unethical behavior. How Sacramento is still allowing them to do business is a direct reflection on our failing values and inability to question the obvious for fear of the unpopular but true, truth. Beware of this agency both in rental and in real estate.

They are master manipulators who lie, lie and lie. This is my personal and unfortunate experience. The details are many and the problems unbelievable. I am ashamed to have attended school with some of the cook agencys owners, opperators and family members. The business is morally void and opperates within this reality. My previous realtor struggled to sell my house and I was getting nowhere. Hired Cook Realty and it was totally different. Much more attention to detail and it was sold within a month.

We have already talked to friends about our experience with Jim Walker and Cook Realty. Jim kept us very informed during the buying process.

Jim was always looking out for our best interests. We were informed about what was going on from start to finish.

"WTF, only one star?!" This may be your cry of disbelief upon first seeing my review of this highly regarded and long-established local favorite, but lemme 'splain. My review is specific to very recent experience with attempts to have these folks assist me with a few of their rental listings. I called on 2 separate rental ads & left detailed messages more than a week ago that I was interested in seeing each of the properties as soon as possible.

The only response I received was a message on my voice mail left by someone at Cook (they left only their first name in the message; no last name was given), who simply re-stated the information from one of the ads I'd called about. I called back right away; unfortunately, when calling to Cook, the only options in their automated phone system seem to be either selecting an extension or using their directory to locate your party by last name.

Since I had no last name for whoever left me the message, I chose the extension that was listed in one of their ads I was interested in & left another message asking for a return call to let me know how/when I could set up a time to view the property. To date, I have not received a response from either of the two Cook reps for whom I left messages on the ads I was interested in. Maybe they're only interested in providing quality service to buyers/sellers and we renters are just S.O.L.? Seems that way from my experience.

I never thought I'd ever write a review, especially a 5-star one, for a real estate person--I've found most of them to be self-absorbed, "only-interested-in-their-commission" mercenaries. (Think Annette Bening in "American Beauty". But when I came across this review for Meena Chan Lee I was reminded about how incredible she was negotiating "the deal from hell" on the Eichler I bought.

Without regurgitating all the bloody details, she pulled off the nearly impossible and at half her commission (she was pulled in after I had been in negotiations directly with the owner's mother, who had passed away). If I ever decide to sell, Meena's getting the listing! You go girl!
