I am a long time employee who has made a career at JMC & Co. I have nothing but admiration for the company leadership and culture where I feel I have become part of the fabric and family.

I've been working at JMC & Co for just over a year, having onboarded amid C-19, and have enjoyed working here with every passing moment! Everyone has been very welcoming and the company truly operates as a team. I couldn't ask to work with better people and am very fortunate to be working at John M. Corcoran & Company.

They refuse to honor requests for affordable housing at Millside Canton, it appears they send you the info, you complete the paperwork, but in reality there aren't any apartments available. After reading the reviews here, maybe that's a good thing

I live in one of their properties in NH and it'd been absolutely terrible the whole time. I put in 4 requests to come fix things in my apartment in January and they still haven't come, it's May! My husband just fixed it himself. Have complained of screaming neighbors at 4am outside my window. Showed videos. Smoking outside our non smoking building and my apartment smelling of cigarettes.

Put my 60 day notice to leave (1 month early) wrote that I'd like to speak with them about a few things but I will pay, this is on top of SIX emails I sent about other stuff. The ONLY thing they have done is sent me a letter and an email telling me I will be responsible to pay the last months rent. they ONLY care about money. RUN

I pay for Garage Parking every month. These people failed to properly notify tenants about the rules to parking when driving a rental vehicle. My car has been towed TWICE in ONE WEEK and they REFUSE to reimburse me. The CITY OF BOSTON isn't towing due to the crisis around the world but not MetroMark! They will suck the money of out you any way the can! I HATE this company. Myself and my 4yro come out to no car at 4:45am! Inhumane and disgusting AF.

Sebastian of Corcoran Mgmt was very helpful with renewing options despite being in the middle of a pandemic crisis. Further, they adjusted the lease when our elderly dog had died out of the blue so we wouldn't have to keep paying for monthly pet fees. With the loss of our pet on top of our lives upending due to this pandemic, Sebastian's [and the company's] courtesy was one of the few moments of relief we've had since this all started. Also, our unit and property are kept in really good condition. By far the nicest apartment I have lived in while in Boston.

Do not get yourself trapped by singing a lease at any of their properties. I lived at Parkside Commons in Chelsea for a year, and it was the worst year of my adult life. I dealt with nightmarish neighbors who broke so many terms of the lease- noise violations were just the beginning of the issues I dealt with. One of them threatened me and called me a homophobic slur when I politely complained to him about the raging party that was carrying on in his apartment at 4:30 AM on a Sunday.

Beyond that, the building smelled awful (except for the lobby, which always smelled like a fall candle), the head of maintenance was lazy and condescending, and the property manager and office staff consistently showed that they do not care about the tenants once they sign the lease. They will ignore, dismiss, and give you the company line any time you complain.

If you reach out to Corcoran in an effort to escalate your grievances, you will also get ignored and sent back to the property manager who was the root of your frustrations in the first place. They remind me of that old SNL sketch with Jane Curtin, where she sarcastically said "We're the phone company. We don't care. Because we don't have to." Corcoran doesn't care, because they don't have to.

They're a wealthy, greedy corporation with many, many properties, and they don't seem to care that they frustrate or, in some cases, screw over residents who abide by the terms of their leases and pay their rent on time. They gouge you on rent, nickel and dime you on everything else, and they make it clear that once you sign that 40 plus page lease (that they don't even take one second to walk you through) they just want you to shut up, accept the shoddy living conditions for the inflated rents, and leave them alone. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

I inquired about an apartment via email and asked if my 6lb Chihuahua was welcome. I received a reply from David Gordon and I quote "We are not a dog friendly community. Is there an alternative home for your dog?" SERIOUSLY? Thats the most ludicrous, & ignorant thing I've EVER been asked from a rental property & just wrong to even suggest. I'd give negative stars if I could.

I live at Stone Run East and have had two odor issues since moving in. Neither have been resolved and the new leasing agent for the property has been unresponsive. There's no reason my bathroom should smell like another tenant's stale cigarettes and skunk weed. And, there has been a persistent odor in my living room, that hasn't gone away with bamboo charcoal or boxes of baking soda.

Over the years I've lived in apartments in Boston, Worcester, Atlanta, St Louis, Albany, and Delaware and have never had this kind of issue. (In addition, my family owns rental units and would never ignore a tenant in such a manner.) I'm extremely disappointed that I pay good money to live in an apartment where I am bombarded by odors that are not of my making.

It's so bad that I almost dread coming home not knowing how my place will smell. And, I have allergy and sinus issues so do not have the best sense of smell. Would not recommend this company.

The people within the office of The Common at Southfield, are very responsive (and, various calls to Corporate went nowhere). The building is well-run and well maintained. Part of their success --it seems-- is in that they screen the applications thoroughly. Once you are living here you will see that Management follows the rules and tenants do too.

My 18th month stay will conclude in December 2017. When asked I recommend living here as the people and building with all of the amenities (gym, pool, covered parking, trash valet) are easy to get used to. This area of Union Point, I predict, is going to be a 'very cool' and very safe place to live given all of the plans in place and all of the building activity well underway. Hope to see you around! You won't ever regret living here.
