My name was forged on documents when I was clearly being denied a lease due to past due rent then when it was paid I was still denied a lease until Attorney general reached out to them. Also V. S admitted to forging my name on documents and kept apologizing saying the owner of the building asked her to do so in which she knows as a professional and otherwise this is Totally illegal. Also, Switched out my Safhr information without my knowledge or consent also only gave my login credentials 1 time as asked so they could sign for landlord and update my assistance balance because it took awhile. Deca never tried to give me a lease before March of 22 so when I needed correct documentation for safhr app I didn't know the money goes to owner of building then he pays company but I was trying to make sure I uploaded everything I needed one time. I have proof of everything thing I've stated.

I was really excited to apply for a rental with Deca after all of the good reviews; however, I have had a terrible application process with them. I am relocating to STL for a job opportunity and I put in an application on Monday night. On Tuesday they contacted me letting me know that my application was being submitted, and asking me if there was a co - applicant which I immediately responded letting them know there was not and received an email back.

I also did not include a co-applicant in the application. Due to the rental market right now which is moving very quickly I contact them on Friday asking for any information to which they responded asking for information on my co-applicant. Again I had to tell them I do not have a co-applicant, and then they put me on hold (or thought they did) and discussed that they had linked someone with the same last name to my account.

I called them again today (Tuesday a week after submitting the application) and I was told that applications take 3-5 days to process and mine was only submitted this last Friday. I corrected Michele and let her know that was completely due to their error and I would like my application pulled due to their error, and I do not think we would be a good fit.

I also asked for a refund on my application due to the hassle of dealing with them. With all of this, I would not recommend someone who is out of state and trying to secure housing work with them, especially with them taking upwards of a week to get back on an application with no answers. I have been renting for the last 7 years and I have never had a company take this long to review an application.

As an update and response to the owner. - NO Deca has not tried to reach out to me. A matter of fact I called them a week after the initial application was turned in and they still had made no decisions and have not received any calls or emails from them. So I am unsure where or how you have attempted to contact me because you should have all of my contact information.

Also I am fairly certain the owner did not read the review as I was never put on hold and they talked about how they had linked my application with someone with the same last name and it was never actually submitted to processing until that Friday when I called to ask for an update and they had found their mistake. When I called them again the following Tuesday.

They told me they still had not made a decision. I also have an email exchange with a deca employee from the day the application was submitted letting them know that I did not have a co applicant so I am unsure why they feel the need to lie here. Lastly, I was NEVER offered a refund on the application. I asked for it. So I think the honorable thing to do here would be to not lie on the review and just admit to your mistakes. I am happy that other people have had decent experiences with your company but I did not and felt others needed to know about it.

I provide community support in St. Louis and my experience with Deca has always surpassed my expectations. Staff are kind, helpful, and provide flexibility to ensure their tenants can remain safe and stable in their housing. The representative showed up on time, was very helpful and informational about the place. He conducted himself in a professional manner, on top of that was super nice and I would recommend Decca send him out more often.

They're so cheap and can't fix my furnace that I called in before the new year, along with other problems. I've paying the hallway lighting that I don't even have a light switch to control been paying for that almost a year before I found out I was and they can't Reimburse me on that extra money coming out of my pocket and tell me that I would be paying for it, wasn't in the contract that I would be paying for the hall lights

The rep that showed me the Apt., was very respectful, kind, and answered my questions thoroughly. The property manager was very professional, and we'll spoken, when I filled out my application. I hope I am approved, and look forward to moving into the Apt.

The owner of the property agreed that I could move the washer and dryer out after I vacated the property. The property owner declined to uphold their agreement for about 6 months. They got back to me since I made this review. That issue was resolved. This was a huge hassle and though I did not mind the property owners, I had a bad experience with the property management.

I dont know why they treat their renters like criminals. I always paid my rent on time and alerted them with any concerns. Strange that they would make so much trouble for a nurse and a music teacher renting from them.

I was put off by the fact that there were 3 of us looking at the apartment at the same time. Additionally, I resent it being represented as a real possibility when we were told that there are already numerous applications currently being processed. That we can submit our applications and pay the processing fee and IF none of the other applicants work out we'd each be considered.

Doesn't seem particularly ethical to me BUT it's a great way for Decca to make lots of extra cash on hopeful applicant's fees alone. I'm eager to move ASAP and don't have the time, the money or want the unnecessary hits to my credit that playing games like this will entail. Have already been through this with another owner over the weekend. Now I know to ask in advance.

Just have to hope my question is dealt with honestly. I don't have 6 months to wait for the game to play out. Too bad as, even though the apartment was much smaller than expected (according to published square footage), I did really like it. I liked the apartment I saw Sunday much better but owner was another game player, as previously stated.

I've rented with Deca for about 6yrs and my maintenance service has been 99% great. I'm disabled and they've installed storage, pics, mirrors and bathroom safety bars, etc. Jim Young is a great manager and nice to me. My overall rental experience with Deca is great and I look forward to our rental future. This Deca property is well maintained, quite, clean and safe.

I must be fair in my review of my history renting with Deca. This is a repost of a 1-Star Review that Goggle Reviews Removed after i posted a Separate 5-Star Review of great work that Deca did installing Grab Safety Bars in the restroom on 3/17/21. Deca told me water leaks are paramount and would be handled as such. i had an emergency kitchen water leak under the sink one weekend and was told to put a bucket under it.

As a disabled person i had No Use of my kitchen in the middle of a red-hot 3rd strike pandemic. I ate out that weekend to keep safe. the leak was eventually fixed but was not taken as the Paramount Emergency water leak it was.

I'm a current tenant for a Deca property and have been so impressed with their property management. The team is very responsive, detail oriented, and helpful. There online portal is also very easy to navigate - making payments and maintenance requests very simple.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND (Maintenance Team is incredible!) We have rented through deca for almost 2 years now and we love them. Stacy with maintenance is absolutely fantastic, very professional and always acting quickly to solve any problem we have. We've had emergencies early in the morning/late at night and they are always quick to respond. We are very lucky and know we will continue to rent through them, even in the future!

I've never stayed in a property where maintenance shows up within a day. That's what got me hooked my furnace went out within months of me moving in and they were on it! I appreciated that. If it's ever an issue they are very professional in handling it and getting back to you. I'd recommend this company to anyone.
