I contacted Deer Ridge Property Management in hopes that there might be a home left in the Brevard area for Thanksgiving. I am really glad I did. The property in question was brand new construction.

Deer Ridge was formed to serve the needs of a rapidly expanding and diverse vacation market in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. Jim Kolisch, President and co-owner, has over 20 years of property management experience. He and his wife Karen and two daughters, Kim and Kristy, were attracted to the outdoors of WNC as the entire family enjoys mountain biking, road biking, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking.
Imagine being able to take a longer vacation, cook meals on your own time, relax in a full size living room and be surrounded by the comforts of home. This is all that a vacation rental home has to offer that a hotel does not. In general a vacation rental home costs less money and will provide you with multiple rooms and a full size kitchen for cooking anything from a small breakfast to a full Thanksgiving dinner. Worried about your gear sitting in the car? Is your bike your second child? How about a garage for safe, dry storage?
IMPORTANT: We do not have set office hours, we operate by appointment and cannot accommodate drop ins. The team at Deer Ridge Property Management are fantastic, ensuring we had a comfortable stay. We have rented houses from other agencies in the past, but the Deer Ridge team made our vacation rental experience relaxing and put us at ease. Their communication was responsive when we had questions, the rental house was clean and well stocked, making our family vacation just a little easier so we could get to relaxing faster!

Really let me down. Required all kinds of expensive upgrades and high priced, inhouse cleaning services, but hardly got it rented at all. Their excuse was that my house was in town. They should have told me that before they had me get those costly upgrades. One of the requirements was to get a card operated key lock for front door. Never got me the password to change it. Now i will be left with expense of taking care of that. I actually lost money by using them.

We spent several days at Chinquapin and loved it! The personal touches by Deer Ridge, such as leaving a treat for our dog (with his name on it) and soft music playing when when we entered put our experience. over the top. The home is beautiful and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The large screen porch with fireplace (with wood) and fabulous mountain view was our favorite place to be. The drive up the mountain mountain was steep, but once you arrive you never want to leave. We will definitely be back!

We just spent a week in Woody's View and really enjoyed the home. It's modern, spacious, clean, well furnished and pet friendly. Only ten minutes from Brevard on a quiet mountain road by easy to access. Especially enjoyed the mountain view and use of the Connestee Falls recreational facilities like the pool, lake and hiking trails. Was also very impressed and appreciated how professional Deer Ridge was from booking to checkout. It really was everything we hoped it would be.

When renting from this company you must either pay for a non-refundable protection plan for $40 or give them a $1000 security deposit which is refundable in 45 days! One way or another they get you. No one want to tie up $1000 for a month and half so one is stuck paying $40 which gets you relatively nothing except a loss of $40. They also urge you to purchase a Vacation Rental Insurance for an additional fee. What you thought you were paying for a rental property adds up to a whole lot more.

We truly enjoyed our visit to Brevard. "Water's Edge" was spacious and comfortable and it's location on the lake was great. My kids enjoyed paddling around in the canoe. We have used Deer Ridge for 4 years now and have always been very happy with the properties and their services. Highly recommended!

BREVARD, NC DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT FIRM! I rented what was purported to be a lakeside property where the pictures and descriptions both alluded to a lakefront vacation experience. I even validated with the firm in advance my family's desire to have swimming access from the dock. When we arrived not only was there no access, there were nails sticking up from both the dock and the stairs on the way down to it.
If I had not luckily seen these my kids would have spent their vacation in the hospital. I advised them of the issues immediately and they took no corrective actions. They also ignored multiple follow up calls and emails. At $175 per night one should expect a better experience. If that is how they treat high end renters imagine how they treat others. Steer clear as there are other reputable companys in Brevard.
