Going to leave a positive review here. I lived in a building managed by De Wolf and moved out last month. We received the full security deposit minus the last utility bill within 21 days. Communication with Maya at the leasing desk was fantastic, although the building manager named Aaron is a grumpy man who doesn't really do anything.

I need serious help getting a nice house. Please call me soon. I need a referral. I am a low-income woman in need of a home in San Francisco, or other. I am a ex- real estate holder. My employment history I absolutely incredible. I am a current SSDI holder with no property at all. I'm a resume keeper with the best connections. Where do I start. Only problem is money to put down for a home. Please tell me if you could assist me in applying for one, (Section 8, foreclosed or other low market), home, or other. Really fast. Have a wonderful day! Ms. Mantle

This is a terrible rental management company. We had to file a small claims lawsuit to recover our security deposit, which they decided unilaterally to withhold without any basis. The judge ruled in our favor and imposed a penalty (dismissal with prejudice). You can look up case number CSM-22-865248 on the website of the Court of San Francisco.

I'm seeing all these terrible reviews about DeWolf Realty. I've been living in an apartment managed by DeWolf for years now, and I think the agency is great. On the rare occasions when I needed help, they were courteous and friendly and had someone come over immediately to handle the problem (whatever it was). They respect my privacy, leaving me alone except for those times when I needed them. I think they do great management!

I figure people only leave reviews for their realty company when they're angry - so I'd like to add my positive experience. In the 3 years I've been living in a property managed by DeWolf it's been nothing but pleasant. They're responsive, friendly and so far I have had no issues with paying fees or rent increases or anything like that. I do recommend them.

We called in a broken pipe (flooding issue) and sewage coming up in our garage ONE WEEK AGO. We are unable to use our upstairs toilet or shower in a house where we pay $5K a month - De Wolf has not done anything to fix our problem nor have they contacted us in the past three days - all of the calling has been on our part. The negative reviews on this site are well-earned.

I'D STRONGLY, STRONGLY SUGGEST AVOIDING THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU'RE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH A YEAR OF FRUSTRATION AND NONSENSE. THIS COMPANY CLEARLY HAS NO REGARD FOR THE WELL-BEING OR SATISFACTION OF THEIR TENANTS. Renting through DeWolf Realty was the worst rental experience of my life. I've never left a negative review because I often think a negative experience is an isolated incident. in this case I'd hate to see someone else go through the hellish experience that my roommate and I dealt with.

Let's get down to brass tacks. Here is what we were dissatisfied with. -Zero accountability: Our washer and dryer were defective and we essentially had to beg DeWolf to send someone to come out and address the issue. Both the washer and dryer sat in the middle of our soup can sized living room for 2 months before they finally decided they'd take care of it. -Non-stop construction all day, every week day directly below our unit.

Construction wasn't something DeWolf bothered to bring up before our move-in date and although they're likely not required to disclose year-long racket, some transparency would've been nice. Working from home became nearly impossible with the onslaught of booming noise from saws and hammers. Construction would also sometimes occur on Saturdays starting around 8am, great way to start the day. -Repeated instances of mail and packages being stolen from the building lobby. Mailboxes were pried open with a crow bar and I felt I had no choice but to begin sending packages to another location because I didn't feel a package would be safe if delivered to our building.

When tenants (others in the building) asked for security cameras to be installed their response was: "It won't make a difference, everyone is wearing masks due to the pandemic." Thanks! -Lastly, utilities were routinely (~ once/week) shut off for construction purposes. It got to a point where I chose to live with family in a different city because the conditions became absolutely unbearable. What a joke.

Money gready. Done construction for the last 3 years almost non stop on the building. All to convert apartments and be able to charge more. Meanwhile my utilities are constantly shut off, there is a huge amount of dust making me physically ill, and the workers leave the front door wide open, resulting in theft of many many packages. All this and they raised my rent the maximum amount AND more because of " building improvements". The only improvements is now there are more residents and they can charge more. My unit is practically falling apart. Would not recommend.

I was 1 year and 2 months at one of their properties and was a really good experience overall. Once I had a emergency in the apartment and they sent a person to fix it in a couple hours after I called. Also they provide online rent payment which is nice (it's 2019 and not every landlord provides this). I didn't have any problems with them and I was worried because of bad reviews here. Every time that I contact them through the web portal I received response. The move-out process was smooth.

Poor Management and Unsafe Living Conditions. I have lived in my apt for over 3 years and reported black mold, and cracks in the walls due to foundation work that was done recently. I asked for the report of the black mold because I have to be out of my apartment for a week for them to fix the "highly unsafe" levels that were detected. They refuse to give me any insight into what was found.

They are also refusing to pay for the 3 days they need me to be out of my apartment to fix the cracks in the walls. They also illegally raised my rent and now I have to fight that with the SF Rent Control board. Do not recommend Dewolf or any of the properties they manage. Disheartening that people could care so little about the safety and well being of another human.
