Most investors and agents believe that a property management company simply collects rent and schedules repair calls. Donna Farrow & Company always does much more. Maintain a separate account for the tenant security deposit as required by the Missouri Real Estate Commission (MREC). Keep up with state and federal regulations to maintain compliance and keep up to date forms.
We want to determine if the resident is taking care of the property. If they are not taking care of the property we will send the tenant a lease violation notice, and if not corrected we will not send them a lease renewal. It allows us to determine if there are any maintenance issues that can be taken care of.
Hiring the right management company is extremely important. In most cases your investment property is the single biggest investment you have made in your entire lifetime. The wrong management company can cost you thousands of dollars by putting in the wrong tenant or by not hiring the right maintenance technicians and vendors.

Every person I've ever heard of working through them has had a bad experience, but they pretty much have a monopoly so you're at the mercy of these terrible people. Good luck!

Worst place to rent a home in the St. Joe area by far! Maybe the worst ran company in the town. I would advise people to pay more to use another company in town. They like to reply to people leaving negative reviews instead or working to run a better business. There is a reason they have way more 1 star reviews then any other. Awful service and awful people who run this business.

They also sent a bill after we moved out charging me for things that were wrong with the house when we moved in! Terrible company would give negative rating if I could! Don't use this company and save urself A LOT of headache!

Took over a building one week after I signed a lease with Berkshire Hathaway the predecessor. The whole lease and rental was mediated through Interserv and Danielle Brown. The day I moved in I got a key to the apt but not the front door and got locked out after walking back from Second Harvest with groceries. Wouldn't have gotten in except for a nice cleaning lady there.

Never signed a new lease but DFC posted papers all over the building and had all the residents fill out new rental paperwork when they took over (don't know why that was necessary if ownership didn't change) and it was not a lease at all, then they insisted I would owe them which appears illegal if there wasn't a lease with them. Wouldn't fix the window which was rotted and falling out of my apartment.

Just slapped some foil padding to cover up the huge gap. Windows in kitchen were glued shut and no vent for oven or stove which kept setting off the fire alarm and they wouldn't do anything about it. No safe escape route in event of a fire either that I was aware of. These are the facts as I know them.

I live out of state and have a property I been wanting Donna and Farrow to help me out with when it comes to finding tenants. I fly down to show one of the leasing agents from Donna and Farrow the unit I want to Rent out and she says due to the area and size of the unit it will have no problem renting out. All she needs from me is the key from the unit to get in and out of the unit and my email so she can have a lease agreement sent to me the following week.

We exchanged information and I had someone drop off a key in a envelope with my information to their office and also provided a tag with the key so they have no problem locating the key. It's been over two months now and still haven't received a text from the lady that was supposed to help me out and I even texted her twice within that time frame and still nothing.

Very unprofessional, wasted my time showing Donna and Farrow leasing agent my property. Not sure if they still have my key to my unit or if they lost it. My recommendation to the owner is get new leasing agents or train them so they can be more reliable, have better communication and follow through with property owners like myself or business opportunities will be lost.

Overall my experience was good. I called them three times before I got a response, so don't be afraid to be persistent! I worked with Leah for most of it, and she was very nice and helpful. Ben helped with my move in and was also very nice. One thing that everyone needs to know that I was not informed of from the beginning (purely a mistake) they will not accept checks, MONEY ORDERS are their form payment (maybe cash, not sure). So make sure you ask how much you need to bring to the table if they do not tell already tell you.

I would give negative stars if I could. Told us straight to our faces that they wouldn't waste our money on background checks if they weren't for 100% sure we would get the place.ran them anyway and came up with bogus excuses as to why 'the owner' decided not to rent to us. Never again. No wonder they have a 1 Star rating. What a joke of a company.

Moved out of an apartment that was managed by these people. Still have not recieved my deposit- there was no damage to the apartment and I was a perfect tenant. If there was an emergency (like my a pipe burst in my ceiling multiple times), they would wait over 12 hours to send anyone out. So my floor would be soaked and the ceiling damaged. Also my heat stopped working and they took 2 days to fix it in the dead of winter (it was a basement apartment and dropped to the low 60s).

My rent was early 95% of the time and on time the other 5%. They have 30 days to get me the money, they tried to tell me they have 30 business days. no Missouri law states 30 days. I left the apartment clean with everything intact. where is my money? there is a reason these people have 2.0 on their feedback. Do not rent from these people.

For those reading, I'm the owner of rental properties, not a renter. Having read a lot of property management reviews, I realize the majority come from jaded tenants. From my standpoint, I must say the crew at Donna Farrow are a pleasure to work. Easy level of communication, good handyman work, clear explanations of each step, friendly, and overall an enjoyable bunch of people to work and interact with. I would high recommend the Donna Farrow company to manage your rental properties.

I've never heard good things about this company but looking on my own to find a place that would accept a dog was becoming exhausting so I decided to give them a try. I set up an appointment to look at three homes all within a few blocks of each other. I was on a lunch break at work. The lady showing me the homes was late, not just a few minutes but late enough that after I sat in the drive way of the first location for a while I started to think maybe I was at the wrong place or had the date wrong.

I called up to the office and they said she was on her way. I was late getting back to work. I picked a home, got moved in. Since then I have had a ton of trouble with neighbors and repairs needing to be done to the house. I had a pipe busted and throwing water everywhere. I had to unplug multiple electrical items due to the water getting on them.

I called on a Monday and by Wednesday still had not heard from anyone. So I called the landlord again and he said he was under the impression donna farrow company had already been out to fix the issue. One of the ladies called me shortly after that. Told me she would call me back in about 15 minutes. She never called back. The next day I get a call that they have someone at my house and they cant get in.

I had to leave work yet again to let this man in. He was unprofessional. Only fixed one of the 3 issues. I complained to the landlord and sent photos and videos. He had to call them yet again. They have still only fixed two problems and it has now been over a month since all of this happen. I will never use this company again, I was extremely disappointed. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED. Steer clear!

They charge for things that are completely false. After 3 years, they charged us for late payments but couldn't tell is when they were. Would not fix anything and absolutely the rudest people you have ever met. Completely the worst.

Contacted Donna Farrow from out of town about renting a house. When I was told that they didn't have any for the description I was looking for I asked them if they could give me a name of other rental property management companies so that I could contact them for help. Ashley was very rude and said we can't help you with this because it's a conflict of interest.

I told her you didn't have any rental property that matched my criteria and I just needed some help because I live out of town. She was very rude when all I wanted was a little help finding a house for my son who will be attending Missouri Western University. Whatever happened to customer service and being friendly to someone who is not familiar with St Joseph or the community.

Donna Farrow & Co cheat people out of their money. They take non-refundable "application" money from potential renters with no available locations or intention of ever renting to them. What a bunch of nasty and cheating people. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

I am a property owner that had Donna Farrow manage my property for about 2 months. I own several apartments. All the apartments are newly remodeled and were fairly easy for me to rent. I don't think they even showed the apartments one time. I was told they cleaned an apartment after a tenant moved out and it was never cleaned. I was charged for this until i inspected it myself.

I had a tenant that was a current tenant that said she was glad i was not using them any more. They were rude to them and she said she was ready to move out until she found out i was going to manage it on my own agian. I have since fired the property management company and now they lost all the keys to the entire complex. I was told at first it is there policy to discard keys.

I then finally talked to the owner who confessed they lost them. I would urge all property owners to never us this company. The only reason I gave them 1 star is i had to give them something. they don't have negative stars.

Beware! Do not rent from these people. They will not fix anything. They will do everything in your power to not give you back your deposit. Paid 500 for Stanley Steamer to clean carpets and they tried to say Stanley didnt do a good job. They will charge you for cleaning even if you left the place spotless. They will find anything to keep your deposit.

I have never not gotten 100% of my deposits back until these scam artist. Beware, if they show you a house and then bait and switch you, dont fall for it. I was never late once on yet, ever. Terrible customer service, I should have known from first meeting but we had just moved in state and needed a place, boy what a mistake. The furance and refrigerator made noises.

The 50 year old dishwasher leaked and never cleaned right. Trust me, save yourself a headache from these people. I am going to have to get an attorney to get my deposit back.

Last Friday I scheduled an appointment with Donna Farrow company to view a house for rent. This morning when I came to the office, my representative was gone and the front desk clerk informed me that the house I was interested in was leased by the owner last thursday. I don't understand why the company agreed to a showing if they didn't have a house to show.

The office lacks in communication and organization and overall professionalism. They asked to keep my paper work on file but I refused. I don't trust my personal information to a company that can't even keep their properties in order. By the way, the ad for the house is still up and the posting says STILL AVAILABLE.
