I live in Park Crest apartments. I've been after these people for the last year to come fix my leaky windows. They make up excuses all the time. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Now I have mold and something oozing down the walls. Disgusting. Worst service ever from a Management company.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value They have been unresponsive to fixing basic living necessities such as toilet and sink, they claim it is due to "covid" however it has been 2 years since my sink and shower have drained at a normal rate.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value I live in the parkcrest apartments and they are full of mold. Don't rent from here unless you're okay dealing with reoccurring mold.

My beautiful apartment has turn into a dungeon. It's bad enough that there are no widows in the bedrooms, you are further isolated by the inability to make or receive calls/texts. I've stayed in my residence one night since I've moved in because the server system is inadequate to support the terrace level apartment, this causing major signal loss and wireless/cellular connection issues. Ive talked to neighbors to see if they have similar problems and they all say the same thing the building is aware that the terrace level is pretty much a dead zone but won't fix it because it's to costly.

After talking to my leasing agent she confirmed similar sentiments. In addition to the normal stresses of moving, this issue has caused me great distress and anxiety. I have not been able to settle in and enjoy my new space without the frustration of being in disposed every time I walk into my home. If I want to use my cell phone I have to either go outside to my terrace in the December cold or I have to keep the back door open thus letting the heat out and possibly raising my heating cost just to make and receive calls/texts.

It's almost Christmas and originally had plans on family coming in town to stay with me but have since had to cancel. I've added WiFi the apartment in hopes of some resolve but the apartment signal problems continue, rendering even WiFi signals useless. Installing the WiFi only helps with FaceTime capabilities not regular calls or texts and if your friend has an android forget about it.

In fact the first and only night I've actually stayed in my apartment, I had to move the WiFi box from the living room to the bedroom just to get a WiFi signal strong enough to support the functions of my smart TV. In a time of covid where people are working remotely the inability to make or receive conference calls effects my work life. In a time of covid, not being able to make or receive emergency calls effects my safety.

In a time of covid, not being able to use my phone to stay virtually connected effects my sanity. These would all be very hard compromises to that I can not make. These compromises that no New Resident should have to make. Something has to be done. I can't live like this especially during the holidays. : I have requested for management to contact me via phone but have yet to receive a call to discuss my concerns. If there is no resolution I am prepared to contact my lawyer.

Bernstein Management is horrible. They have repeatedly entered my apartment without proper notice after I have clearly and in email identified how I can and should be notified of entry to my unit. I, in my maintenance request, denied their access to my unit and they decided to enter anyway. This is AFTER TWO times of me communicating clearly with them that I want to be notified prior to entry.

I have only been in this unit six months. Susan with corporate tells me it's 'human error' and that they hope they can do better yet she cannot tell me how this time will be different from any of the other times they should have done better. A package of mine has been stolen from the lobby. It's loud, you hear all the GA Ave traffic constantly, people follow you into the building, and I've found people smoking in the stairwells.

I lived in another Bernstein Management building before which is why I rented with them this time but I won't make this mistake again. I hope others can learn from my poor choices.

I recently applied to an apartment building managed by the Bernstein Management Corporation and was accepted, however, upon receiving the final lease package there were multiple discrepancies between the advertised listing and the terms of the lease. Additionally, clerical mistakes from the leasing office resulted in me receiving paperwork that didn't even have the right apartment address.

Since I am needing to move cross-country on a short timeline, without having an opportunity to visit or tour units, these multiple mistakes and the falsely advertised lease terms raised too many red flags for me to enter into a contract given the circumstances. Through the application process $82 was collected in application fees and a $300 "earnest fee" was collected to be applied to the security deposit for the rental unit.

I was understanding of the errors made by BMC, and made the reasonable request that the $300 earnest fee be refunded given that it was collected in the context of a false advertisement. After numerous correspondences, leasing office staff still refused to budge on the non-refundable policy for the fees and I needed to contact a regional manager. **Update - I was finally contacted by BMC Management and they agreed to refund all the fees. While I am satisfied with their eventual response, the amount of back-and-forth that was required to reach this outcome was quite frustrating.

My husband and I have lived here for 1 year and feel that BMC is the best rental management company we've had across 5 states. Oriana at Highview/Castle Manor is extremely pleasant and kind. She made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. The premises were always in pristine condition and maintained all the charm of the original construction 100 years ago. We were planning to stay for much longer but found a buying opportunity, which is the only reason we are leaving. We would recommend this group and building to anyone in DC.

Worst management ever, nobody takes accountability for their job here. If you have a problem as a resident, expect to be transfered over the phone a thousand times and never get to reach the right person. DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM. My building was owned by an independent owner before, as soon as Bernstein came in house, everything became a disaster.
