I am 22 years old and this is the first time I am writing a negative review. I felt that I should warn others since working with property management company's/ landlords can sometimes be tedious. I cannot speak for how Bennet Property Management handles their tenants after signing a lease with them because I didn't get that far, but I wanted to share my experience with the application process I had with them.

First off, my roommate and I were in communication with Laurie during our application process. I absolutely do not expect anyone to be overly friendly on the phone, but Laurie was especially short with us and spoke in a very rude and monotone tone the few times we called her to ask a question about the apartment itself, or the application. My roommate and I were applying for a property that was $1,100 a month.

We are both students and don't make enough money to make 3x the rent, so we got a cosigner who made 4x rent. We were told we were the first people to apply, but got a phone call a few days later saying we were denied. I don't remember verbatim what reasoning Laurie gave us (this time she was a bit nicer over the phone which is ironic), but it was something along the lines of that we did not make enough money to pay for rent, and neither did our cosigner in case we failed to pay.

This was surprising because our cosigner did in fact make 4x the rent (and has a great credit score and savings). We proved we could pay rent by showing our paystubs as well as proved that we were paying $1700 rent in Oregon during out prior lease with no problems. We were applying here to save some money on rent, but have since signed a lease that is $1600/ month with the same credentials.

I understand that different company's have varying requirements for approval, but my main bone to pick is that Laurie was off-putting, and that there were seemingly unfair reasons for being denied. I gave 2 stars because at the very least they were responsive.

I have rented through Bennett for 2 years now. I reached out 1 year ago to Tracy about cockroaches and she did not care enough to do anything about it. A year later and I've spent so much money to try and keep them out from my neighbors place and they refuse to reimburse me for the money ALTHOUGH Arizona law states they have to pay for it. Tracy takes days to get back to me and sometimes doesn't respond at all.

She has been very rude to me as well. I am beyond happy that I am leaving this month! She also sent a company over to replace the head on the shower and he gave me a USED one from his own house. I was disgusted but they refused to pay for a new one. Just over it!

We have been in a Bennett property for several months now and any issue we had was taken care of right away. There are a lot of shady property management companies out there, but Bennett really cares about their tenants!

The worst rental company I have ever worked with. Kyle from B&B appliances the individual they hired to look at our stove lied because of the color of our skin and made comments in our rental like wow you guys can afford this place? Then processed to say the stove malfunction due to owner neglect? Then 715 dollars to fix the exterior glass on our oven.

Never paid our rent late during the pandemic took no assistance. paid landscaper monthly and cleaner to keep the house up. They are treating us like we are second class citizen. Jodi should have handle things differently.

I was a first-time landlord and nervous about vetting renters and dealing with the administrative tasks. Bennett handled everything! And my unit was always rented. All of this at a reasonable rate. I would definitely use them again.

Just started working with Lynette Casey on renting a home in Mesa, Az. So far she has been friendly, professional, and very quick to respond. This particular property was contacted by over 300 people. I was surprised to even get a response, let alone an application approval within 48 hours of first communication! Lynette is on top of it and I look forward to having her and Bennett as my property management company.

After a couple of other property management companies in the Phoenix area with unsatisfactory performance, I have had my properties managed by Bennett for 10 years now. The most important part of property management is selecting and vetting the tenants. Bennett has been doing an outstanding job. All tenants they placed into my properties have been great choices: paying on time and taking care of the property. If there are maintenance issues, my property manager is on top of it, keeps my appraised and gets the job done quickly. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely the worst experience I have had with a property management company. Kim Tracy is incredibly rude, and clearly an unhappy human being. She is half hearted in her job performance and follow through with clients. I will never do business with this establishment again.

We have used Bennett Property Management for over a decade. Jodi there is someone we absolutely trust and she has done a terrific job for us over the years. We have relatively few vacancies and when we do she finds great tenants. She resolves all tenant issues in a timely and fiscally responsible manner. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I have been renting from Bennett going on our 3rd year now and recently had an issue with my bathroom door. 9 out of 10 times they respond in 24 hrs or less, but this time we had to wait and hear from the owner of the property first. However once a maintenance man was dispatched I was really happy with the work he did. He was polite, professional, quick and did quality work. He actually left it in better condition than it was in to begin with lol. I have had a positive experience with these guys and would recommend them to anyone.

The worst management company in Arizona. They are cheats and liars. They try to remodel the owners home on the dime of the tenant. BEWARE do not rent from them. Worst management company ever. Water damage and mold in the rental and never disclosed during walk in.

Bennett has been managing my rental home since I bought the property in 2007. I have had the same property manager (Jodi Brace) the entire time. She is absolutely wonderful! I have complete & total confidence in her as she has proven herself over the years. She is always very responsive & has done an excellent job for me. I would highly recommend Bennett and of course Jodi. You won't be disappointed!

Travis Reich was our contact for a property we were interested in. He baited us against other applicants even though we were the first to apply into who would sign the longer lease. Very unprofessional stay away from this property management team.

VERY NEGLEGENT FOR EVERYTHING.MAJOR GRIEVANCE.3349 E FLOSSMOOR AVE. I own a home next door. I had to call the City of Mesa to help out. These owners and prop management company are very neglegent in maintaining their property. I advise to think twice before renting any of property managed by this company, they are unprofessional and complacent to customers.

They do not have the knowledge of operating this company. So ALL CUSTOMERS SHOULD THINK OF THEIR OWN WELL BEING, THEIR HEALTH AND SAFETY OTHERWISE YOU WILL LIVE IN THE PROPERTY AT YOUR RISK, especially if there are children involved. NOT SAFE! Grievance: TREE DEBRIS FALLING INTO MY YARD HOME W SHEDDING TREE: ADDRESS: 3349 E FLOSSMOOR AVE MESA 85204 PROPERTY MANAGEMENT FOR THE HOME: BENNETT PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 101 East 1st Avenue, #105Mesa, AZ 85210P: 480.969.1818F: 480.464.0851 info@bennett2rentit.comGRIEVANCE I am submitting this grievance to our local neighborhood services with the City of Mesa because I need to assure that my neighbors tree is controlled from causing further damage to my property. Situation: JULY: Last month's storm damaged the tree (3349 E FLOSSMOOR AVE MESA AZ) and a large limb fell onto the ground hitting my yard, closely missing my parked vehicle, the limbs were quite large and they landed in the yard, sidewalk and street.

A major part of the debris caused by the storm shaking the tree also fell into my yard, porch and roof. This area has a lot of children playing around especially in that culdesac, the tree could have fallen on the kids. Reported the problem to the owner and property management company 4 times: NO RESPONSE REPORT #1: The residents that were moving out of the home mentioned that they had called the property owner/management company: Bennett Property Management to report the problem.

The owner nor the management company responded. TREE LIMBS REMOVED BY CITY: Since the owner and property management were neglegent in removing the broken tree limbs, I called the City Maintenance Dept. and put in a request to have them removed. The City came the same day and removed all of the broken limbs and placed them back in the their yard. REPORT #2: I called last week (Aug 28), I spoke to the secretary and she mentioned that she would give the message to the property management agent, I did not receive a return call; REPORT #3: I called again this week, Aug. 29; no answer, i left a vmm. REPORT #4: I sent a company comment on the website, Aug.30; no response REQUEST: I need the City to advise as to next steps to assure that my home is safe and that my family is safe.

And that this tree not cause any further damage and problems because of the negligence of the owner and property management. Note: The previous renters always assured that all the sheddings were cleaned and he even came into my yard to clean up after the tree. They were very good, attentive neighbors. Now we are back to a negligent owner and company.

I have only had one experience in renting and it was with Bennett Property Management. I am a home owner several times over who just needed a quick place to land while I figured out my next move, life happens. These people talk to you as if they are doing you a favor letting you rent from them and talk down to you as if you are an idiot. They are rude, unresponsive, and lack total professionalism.

I in fact know how much a security door costs, I know that they indeed are supposed to be working for me to ensure that I am a happy tenant in hopes that I will continue my lease, and I know what maintaining a property consists of. Don't rent from this company. Give your money to a company that actually cares about the renter experience and does not consider themselves superior. This company is a joke.

I am not one of those people that yelp about everything. However this absolutely deserves one. Our agent Travis Reich was hands down the easiest and honest agent I have ever dealt with. We moved to Gilbert from Colorado. A move from one state to another is overwhelming at best. Travis went out of his way to help us and make getting a house completely seamless.

After moving in we found a few minor issues with the residence. He made sure all of our issues were taken care of immediately. I highly recommend giving this company a shot if you are looking in this area. Side note I am a real renter. And nobody asked me or paid me to post this. When I read a good review I am usually skeptical. So I thought I should put that.

By far the worst property management company I have ever had the displeasure of having. Completely unresponsive, unhelpful, and rude. The property I rented had cockroaches and black mold. A leak in the winter caused my entire bedroom to flood, and my AC broke in the middle of the summer. Both issues were only taken care of after MULTIPLE calls and emails.

In one instance I had to email documented proof of all of my attempts to contact Bennett before they responded. Please do not put yourself through the headache of hiring or working with Bennett.

BLACK MOLD! The house I rented was contaminated with black mold. Leaked thru the roof all of the way into my bedroom. Was leaking for years and they knew of the mold with no interest in fixing or taking care of the tenant (me). Did not repair the roof or drywall in the room. I have multiple pictures of the water leaking and Sharon the property manager and homeowner said there was nothing they wanted to do. Carpet was old and stained, master bedroom shower leaked the the wall as well. Charged me for landscaping upon move out with no pictures or examples of the reason for a deduction in my deposit. Terrible experience. Highly recommend renting from another company or homeowner. No consideration for the tenant, only concerned of the rent money.

*** RACIST ASS COMPANY*** JODI is the worst! We applied for a home with great credit, no debt, great high paying jobs, great rental history only to be told we don't meet the criteria. When asked what criteria it was that wasn't being met we were told " We cannot disclose that information" soooooo, you can't fuckn disclose something about Ourselves to Us? JODI said " it's our Policy" soooo, What if I wanted to apply at another property in the area and it's managed by y'all racist asses?!? I'm suppose to just waste my money and hope and pray the property isn't managed by y'all?

She was soooo extremely rude! Fuck this company and their racist ass policies! All And all we didn't get the home because we we're BLACK! And that's okay. karma will handle y'all.

Working with Travis Reich has been nothing short of a great experience. He is always prompt and forthright with anything I needed or any requests I had. Bennett has treated me well as a tenant and I would recommend potential renters or owners to use them without hesitation. Travis and his colleagues took great care of me and were very understanding during my entire rental tenure.

Moved out. Received a deposit statement claiming we owe an additional $3500. Claim after claim about needs for replacement items. All fraudulent. Calling the AG first thing Monday. I'll let them deal with the fraudulent activities of BPM.

This place is a fucking joke! We were super interested in one of their properties. We looked at the home and loved it. We tried contacting them over and over and nothing! Finally after a week, A WEEK they finally sent us the application. We filled the application and sent it back that night spending $100 in fees. After waiting Another WEEK! We get an email saying that we were denied due to lack of rental history.

Their was NOTHING stated on the application that you needed prior rental history or that living with friends or family while paying rent does not count as rental history. When we questioned this they ignored us. They literally took our money and ran. We wasted 2 weeks on this shit company when we're trying to desperately find a home ASAP due to a baby on the way. Bunch of crooks these people are. Stay away at all costs!

As a property owner who has used several property managers, I can say without hesitation that Bennett is the worst one I've used. There was some sort of problem with every payment that was made for the 12 months that I used them. My manager Kate was forever apologizing to me for various reasons. I can understand that everyone makes mistakes, but when they are a regular ongoing thing then something is wrong.

She was bad at following up with the tenant when they needed repairs. She had someone go out to look at a leaking landscape watering system; he turned off the system and never came back. Kate never followed up. I found this out 6 months later after a hot summer. Needless to say I had loses to the property's landscaping. They also do some things that are quite a nuisance like not making their monthly payments until at least the 21st of the month - and if the 21st is on a weekend or holiday then you have to wait later.

They also charge a $35 fee just to give you your year end statement. I'm not going to go into every problem I had with them over a 12 month period but all in all they are pretty bad. I highly recommend staying away from them.

I have been a tenant of a property Bennett Property manages since 2014. I have read other tenant and owner reviews and I can say I have had a completely different experience. My property broker, Travis, was nothing but pleasant to work with and very understanding. I lost my job in 2016 and struggled to pay rent but I did it and if I was going to be late, I let my broker know.

Of course fees were incurred but I cannot complain for something that is my fault. If maintenance was required, maintenance was at my house either the same day or next day depending on the severity of the issue. I would stay in the property until my youngest son graduates high school but marriage happens and it doesn't make sense to pay rent just to stay in the school district. So, after 4 years, I have decided to move on.

The only issue I had was my rent check was lost and I was issued a notice of rent not paid, which was given to my children. This is feel is slightly unprofessional, seeing as how the rent was paid but it was an administrative issue as to why it was lost. Thank you Bennett Property for the 4 years of excellent service.

Worst experience ever. I have seen the unit through automatic way, I liked it then I wanted to put an application, however there were no online application, so I tried to reach the property manager. I have sent e-mail, text message and called three times and left message within 5 days. Never returned my calls or e-mails. Today I have called her again and asked to see if she listened my voice messages to save some time, she replied basically "no" When I say that I want to fill an application for the unit, she said someone else sent an application last night and she said they look good and probably they will be approved.

That shouldn't happen but people may miss e-mails, text messages and 3 voice messages, I would understand that. The problem is I haven't heard "I'm sorry" in anywhere in the conversation. She was so unhelpful and rude. I would stay out of this company for all cost. I wouldn't go in that unit even if they offer it for free now. So irritating.
