No communication at all. I was just ignored for several weeks and I stopped checking in. I understand everything is cray with COVID lately, but this was the same case a couple of years ago.

Dawna was super helpful to us for a solid week looking for a temporary rental. We ended up renting from someone else but I was impressed by her communication and diligence - very helpful!

Caution to any guest whom books with Gorge, whom is also known as Oak Street! Can only assume, after reading the reviews here, that the rebrand was done to try and escape the really horrid track record that's well documented all over the internet. I'd caution any consumer looking for properties and any homeowner looking for a manager-these are not people that operate with integrity! Here's what happened: I booked a stay at an Oak Street managed property in early January for a stay in August.

A month later I received an email from the property saying " As you know, you currently have a reservation for our 310 Oak Street property from August 3rd through August 12th that you booked through VRBO Homeaway. You thought it was too good to be true? Well unfortunately it is. There has been a glitch in the system with our Homeaway account that has caused our property rates to be lower than they should be.

This homeaway glitch has caused you to pay for the Luxe Loft at the winter rate when really it should have been booked under its summer rate. The nightly rate that you paid at $188 is the lowest offering during our slow season and since your reservation falls in our high traffic season, we have no other choice then to change those rates to the appropriate amount which is a nightly rate of $295." Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but this communication style, along with a lack of acceptable alternatives, is egregious.

If I were in their shoes I'd have taken the hit in my property management fee and covered the difference. It's old fashioned integrity that's missing here and it's a shame. I pointed out that I booked a long way out because Hood River properties get booked up quickly, and that I've now missed out on deals that were equal to the "erroneous" one they initially sold me.

Also that I gave an interest free loan of over $2,000 to them. Didn't seem okay to me. They told me I could either pay the additional $978 (!) they under priced by, stay in another location (nowhere near as nice) or, get this, find a friend to split the cost with to make it more affordable! I get mistakes happen, but you need to own up to it and pay for your mistakes.

If it was an hour or even a week after initially booking, it would have been different. But now I'm at a financial disadvantage because of an error Oak Street made and they could care less. The only silver lining is that I won't be staying at a property manager by individuals with such a lack of integrity.

Worst experience I've had with a rental company. Having worked in customer service for 10 years, including a property management company, I value open and easy communication and this place has nothing of the sort. They responded to calls and emails until they got our application fee and then radio silence. When we emailed to check on the status of our application, and expressed frustration at the length of time it was taking, they sent a snarky reply stating that they were waiting to hear from our previous landlords and if we wanted to make it faster WE should get ahold of our landlords.

Which I did. The benefits of a small community mean that I still see and regularly interact with my previous landlords, and when I reached out to them- none of them had heard from Gorge Rentals. I emailed GR again stating that and after that they refused to answer any of our phone call or emails. Over a month after the process began, they emailed us to say the had mailed a response to our current physical addresses.

The problem is, White Salmon addresses do not get mail delivery. You would think that fact would be part of their business as a property management company, but apparently they are either incompetent or just dont care.

If I could give Gorge Rental Property Management Zero stars I would have. They are Unprofessional, unorganized and I have not felt so discriminated against in a very long time. Our first experience we spoke with the only employee there on a Saturday to meet Monday and show us a few properties. We showed up Monday morning and she didn't even remember us talking.

We agreed to meet at 4 so we could see a home. She showed up a half hour late with no phone call to let us know, and not a single apology when she arrived. We picked our 2 kids up from school, and also have a 4mo old little girl and We managed to make it on time. When she arrived she was sparatic and all over the place. It was so unprofessional and made my kids feel uncomfortable.

As we looked around she spoke to us in such a rude and degrading way. My family is mixed. My husband being Italian, I am African and my girls are mixed. I felt like she thought of us as low end people. Assuming we could not afford the home. Later after talking to the Owner about how we felt, we gave them another chance to do better. We asked to look at more houses, they were magically rented right before our showings.

Today we called about a property that looked perfect. No phone call back at all. We went there in person and was told it was rented, to find it was not rented and they just didnt want to rent to us. We are a respectful family and are wanting to be in Hood River because my oldest step daughters mother passed away recently and we are wanting them to stay in their schools.

She had no form of sympathy what so ever. Lastly, she called us back again and told us that all the money we make doesn't all count towards income. Really, all of a sudden our money isnt good enough. I feel bad for all the home owners that have their listings with this company, because no one is trying to rent your homes. The people in charge of your properties are the most unprofessional business people I have encountered in a long time.

I am far from impressed with Gorge Rentals and I would not recommend then to anyone. How many bad reviews is it going to take for them to make a change in personel or management.

I submitted my application more than two weeks ago, along with two other people who submitted their applications at the beginning of April. We didn't get a response until the second week of May. Very poor communication every time we tried to call and email them. Never asked if we were interested in viewing the property. The hassle was not worth it.

It hurts to even give this business one star. Completely inept, dishonest, disorganized, zero follow through and unreliable. First the employee didn't show up for scheduled viewing, which meant a waste of time and money since I was coming from Portland. The application took over 7 days to process and since the house had been vacant for over a month and a half the owner ended up renting it on his own right from under me. I demand they return my $50 for the application at the very least.

I put an application in( which apparently isn't the real application) to hold the property. Because that's how things work in hood river, first come first serve. I received an email at 630 pm on Friday asking me if I wanted to go ahead with the rental. I emailed back the next business day( a Tuesday because of Memorial Day) and they rented the property out from under me because they were apparently open on Memorial Day, not honoring our fallen servicemen. And my time to say yes expired. Unless they have your perfect property, nonamaker property management has provided much better service and selection.

From a renters and property owners view, I give Gorge Rentals Property Management a 5 star rating. Mainly because of the way they take care of my renters and property when needed. My renters need to have someone to cater to their needs and concerns in a prompt courteous manner, that is what Gorge Rentals does. The balance of keeping both the property owner and renter happy is not such an easy thing, they do that well. I have never lost a renter due to Gorge Rental, actually it is more like they appreciate the service.

Horrible experience. I do not recommend! I rented a home a month ago from Gorge Rentals. The house was in violation of Oregon's habitability laws. I asked for Gorge rentals to assist me with the matter in accordance with my legally protected tenants rights. They responded to my request by serving me an illegal 48 hour eviction notice at 5:30pm on a Saturday night.

I have to be out by Monday at midnight. How do you move out and find somewhere new to live in 48 hours? Let alone in this area during winter? This company does not treat people well and their business practices, based on my experience, seem sketchy and immoral at best. I do not recommend supporting this business. I'm a local educator and a single mother.

This is wrong on so many levels. Now I'm officially displaced. Homeless and essentially living out of my vehicle until I can secure housing. If you are looking to rent a home or stay a night in the Gorge I do not recommend this company. They will not handle things appropriately or advocate for your rights. They evicted me to try to solve a problem rather than address it appropriately and in accordance with my rights. Please do not support this kind of behavior. We have to take care of one another in this community!
