I'm part of a non-profit organization (predominately black by the way). We checked on a suite at 2535 FM 685 in Hutto. From the first phone call to Bill Roland, he made every excuse he could think of about why we should not lease the property. From the first phone conversation, he tried to discourage us because the suites were a combination suite and warehouse.

Of course, we knew before we called and felt like it would be a good fit for what we had in mind. After we explained our plans and stated that the layout was acceptable, then he talked about there not being enough parking. We explained that tutoring services would be by appointment and would not require a lot of parking and that other services would not cause a lot of traffic either.

After that rebuttal, he then raised a concern with only having one bathroom in the suite. We told him that was normal for this size suite and that we don't think we would have a lot of foot-traffic to the bathroom. Then he said that it was on a septic system not connected to the city. He tried so hard to convince us that his property was not a good fit, until we finally said we didn't see a problem but that we certainly don't want to give our money to someone who doesn't want it. In these racially charged times in which we live, where deep-seated biases towards blacks are being revealed, I'd also like to say "Black Businesses Matter."

Granite Properties has a B- rating with the BBB and lower than three stars all across the board with all other sources (do a Google search). I highly recommend you avoid this company when choosing a property manager for any property. Never again will I use them for management, or purchase another property managed by them. I have lived in a property managed by them for many years and all they do is collect checks, and use themselves as a subcontractor for all of the repairs they haphazardly complete.

The owner of the Granite Properties, Mike Hill, went as far as to send an email to the residents of the complex asking if anyone knew someone that he could hire to be the maintenance man of our property. This is after 12 months of vacancy, and the position still hasn't been filled. Take it from someone who has experience with these people, stay away.

Why in the world would Granite Properties CANCEL the lease for Sagra? The best food and nicest people in the world are going under. please reconsider this poor decision.

We have lived in our current home for almost two years and they have always been helpful. I could ask for some more but for what they are things have been really good. The only thing we are waiting on right now is to get a few updates done to our older unit,
