I've been renting from Matel Property Management since 2016. Every maintenance issue I have they are quick to respond and send someone out to my property as soon as possible. Most of the people that have fixed the property over the years have been the same contractors, so everyone is almost like family. Love Matel and have appreciated them allowing my kids to grow up in a safe neighborhood all of these years.

Edit: it's been almost a year but we got the place we wanted and so far they have been the most pleasant ever. They send us reminders they are very diligent in letting us know when prices change something happens we miss. Still 5 stars. Op: I haven't rented anything yet. However we did apply through them and they have been nothing but responsive. I called to check on my application I went to voice-mail I don't remember who's it was but within 2 hours I got a call back. Unlike what everyone said they were not rude. So far they have been really professional.

Horrible customer service, especially from Chris Gross. unprofessional and will talk to you like you're a child. They had no problem taking my 3,500 deposit and NOT returning it to me! Instead they gave it to the new buyers of the property we were given 60 days to vacate and the new owner kept over 600 just because! Matel refused to get involved when my business was with them! They are rude, unprofessional and money hungry! Think twice before doing business with them!

I can't relate to all these negative reviews. I rented a condo in Cedar Brook from Matel for almost 2 years. The staff was always friendly, calls that weren't answered were returned in a timely manner. The condo had a few things that needed repair during my time there. Each maintenance request was handled in a professional manner, and quickly.

You can pay your rent online which is great. Yes, they require renters insurance (LOTS of property places do), but as a renter don't you want to protect your stuff and cover your behind if something bad happens? I had ZERO issues with Matel, I would rent from them again if needed, and I will recommend them to friends.

Sent a maintenance person to my house to fix shower leaking. Stole camera with photos of my newborn baby on it. Moved out and signed form giving one-month notice. Told credit company we fled in middle of night and gave no notice. Thank god I kept my copy.

They deserve negative stars. i see a lot of praise for Rebecca and Chris who are actually despicable humans and have never once been kind or professional. go somewhere else or you will deeply regret it! ***do not work with these criminals*** every person i had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with was rude, unhelpful, and down right unprofessional. they will steal your money and treat you like you are scum. not a single person at this evil "property management company" is going to do anything positive for you. if you need something fixed, they will make you wait to get it fixed so they can have at least 5 people bid on the work so they can get the cheapest contractor possible. they will force you to get renters insurance because "the property has a pool" but when the pool went defunct (because they couldnt find a cheap contractor) we still had to pay the renters insurance. these people do not deserve to have a business and you do not deserve to be mistreated by them. go elsewhere! i wish all the worthless money hungry monsters at matel nothing but the absolute worst run away from these evil people!

I just read the bad reviews a squatter, Jim Fair, wrote. Rebeka Keathley was nothing but professional. He took advantage of my elderly aunt, she had just lost her husband. He claimed to be a professional contractor, he was on comp. He was and is a very bad man.

If I could give a 0 I would. This place and how they manage it is a joke. The bird nosed rude blonde Chris gross in the office is so unprofessional. She doesn't like to do her job. She also loves to argue about any issue and always thinks she's right. She shouldn't be in any kind of service industry with the lack of care she has for helping people for fixing things to make it right. Especially if it involves her having to do something.

Reading Everyones Review on Here makes me Laugh how Pretty much Everyone feels the same way i feel. The People who work at this Property Site Must Hate their Job. Because they are so Rude. Just give them a Call, Even how they Answer their Phone is Rude. You could Hear it in their voice they hate their Job. I work 12 hours, 6 Days a week hard labor. While these lazy fools Sit all day Being Rude on their computers lol. JOKES!

I was speaking with Chris Gross and she was very rude and argued about everything. They discriminate against young renters and are unprofessional. Don't waste your time on an expensive application fee because they won't give it to you if you're under 30 even if you bring in 4x the monthly rent.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I applied for a house through this company back in February. I paid 2 rental application fees for my boyfriend and I. Well the lady called me and told me someone else had been approved for the listing. Since they did not run our applications she told me I could be refunded my money or I could have them hold our applications and money until something else comes up.

I told her no and we'll just take our money back. She then told me I had to go through my bank to get a refund. Which I've never heard of before. But she told me to just tell them I paid for a service I didnt receive and they put in a request for refund. So I did, and a couple weeks later my bank contacted me saying the refunded amount was not going to be approved. Turns out that when my bank requested the refund from Matel, they sent them the rental applications, showing proof of service. Smfh! Are you serious?!

So I called Matel and the lady on the phone told me she would look into and call me back. That has never happened and here we are 2 months later with no refund. So they pretty much stole my money and got away with it with lies. Just stay away from this place and I hope they go out of business. That's the best refund I can receive now. And once I find the paper with the ladies name on it, I'll be updating this post.

I am so shocked to read some of the bad reviews of this property management. They are so far off my experience! I have been renting from them for over 1 year and never have any issues. The ladies in the office are very polite and friendly. When we applied to rent it was for a different property. We didn't submit everything in time for that property but Rebecca and Chris found us a different place that was more suitable for us and our dog! They come and trim trees in our yard for us and we handle everything else. I couldn't be happier with my property management and I continue to refer them.

Meh. Some very good, some bad. They try. but if the other reviewers didn't like Matel before renting from them, chances are they'd like Matel less after being locked in to a lease. (Next day: I gave them another star. Our AC broke, and the repairman they quickly sent did an excellent job.)

Wow, wow, wow! Worst most unprofessional property management company I've EVER called! How are they still in business? How desperate are people to put up with such horrible personal? I wish I could curse my review of this place, but I'll keep it classy!

It is currently 10:19am and the date is January 31 of 2019. I just called Matel Property Management to ask about their policy on viewing properties and whoever picked up the phone was extremely rude. She firstly did not sound like she wanted to be there and I get it. It's Thursday morning you may not have wanted to get out of bed, it's early, maybe you weren't feeling well, or maybe you have been having a rough time at work.

Who know's? But regardless of any of that as an employee you are representing who you are working for and because of you, I will not be looking to rent from Matel at all. I had read some previous reviews to see if it was even worth giving this company a call and from the reviews I shouldn't have wasted my time, but I do like to get my own experience first then comment on how I truly feel about the situation and so I did.

To explain better, she like I said before did not sound enthusiastic or welcoming at all. She was speaking to me as if I was stupid as if the questions that I was asking had obvious answers and that I should have known. I had asked her to direct me to a part of the website because when I had first went to the website to see the property I didn't see it.

She told me that most people don't realize ( in a very condescending tone) they need to click on link to see the residential properties we have to offer because for some reason our website defaults to show our commercial properties. It's not my fault your website defaults to a certain page, if a potential client asks for help just help them, theres no need for your attitude.

Its difficult to determine what one's experience may be renting from a management from one situation but I would assume and I may wrongly be doing so, but I would assume that if the receptionist or secretary or w/e you would like to call them are rude then other employees there are also rude because I'm sure that this was not the first time she has spoken to someone like I just explained. I wouldn't rent from them but if you do and everything works out for you then kudos!

DO NOT USE! Rented a house for about a year. First they wouldn't let us see the house before love in but they wanted the deposit to "hold the house." When house was given to us the cleaning was mediocre. It even smelled musty. The front and backyard were a mess because the previous tenants had dogs. We clean it and all. Couple months pass by and its summer.

The yard was destroyed and were trying to revive it and what happens? We get a notice saying that we need to clean it and maintain. Uh hello? Grass need to recover. Fine. Then there is a break in and all they say is its not our problem. Some homeless end up living in the back garage. Not their problem either. They don't care about their tenants.

Come to move out time and theres all these "fees" which take away from our deposit. "Lawn cleanup" wtf! We were trying to revive it. I just started growing and they come up with this bull shit. ONE blond is broke. And they charge 150$! The. Theres other bullshit charges. I know me. We are boujee af! We didnt settle for anything but clean. We left that fucking house in better shape and cleaner than what it was. Fucking rip off just to keep your deposit. Do NOT USE this property management.

Absolutely Lower profile staff with big time attitude! I was so disappointed for interacting with them unfortunately. Only person could be good to interact and speak with is the head of office lady, I highly recommend the Manager Mrs Rebecca she was nice and professional.

The worst and unprofessional management if never seen shity management like this don't ever evvvvvver rent from this management they will rip you off I just moved out from there and they make to pay for whole month I didn't stay in house and they hold my deposit for almost month I clean everything in house they told me we need professional to do that I had to call someone to do that they told me we will pay I had to pay from my own money and after month they took more money from my deposit then they send it to me the worst management don't rent from them they will make you walk throw hell if you call them to fix something they don't take for ever

This company led by Rebeka Keathley advised their client that owed me money in such a dishonest way that it took me over a year to collect money that they're client owed me and ended up costing their client thousands of extra dollars. This company is the worst of the worst. Read the other reviews if you need additional information why you should run from them as your property managers. Simply the worst in the valley.

Poor service, rude employees, and lack of knowledge of the laws required to run a property management. They do not return phone calls or emails. Worst property management I've ever had to deal with. I recommend going elsewhere.

This wasn't my first time renting from a property management company, but it was my first positive experience with one. They always returned phone calls accordingly. The two repairs that I needed on separate occasions were done immediately. I will say that although Rebecca doesn't exactly have a warm and fuzzy demeanor on the phone, she was always professional and respectful. Two thumbs up.

I can't even believe how awful the service is at this property management. First of all I turned in an application and called a couple times to check on it and each time I called they seemed very very very annoyed. They were rude and wouldn't even let me finish my sentence half the time. I finally went into the office to check on it in which the lady with the red hair decided that it was not necessary for me to come down.

We were supposed to hear about the house on a Thursday and we didn't hear anythingand so I waited a week and called back only to find out that she still hadn't finished with the application submission. She was very rude to my references as well. I will definitely not be doing any business with Matel.

If I could I would give this property management company a negative. I had an electrical problem with the duplex I was renting and their on call electrician told ME to go to Orchard supply and get the fuses myself. I burned my finger unscrewing it to get a look at it. I called property management that Monday and they said the same thing, that I should of went to the store to get it myself.

They charged me a removal fee for a mattress that wasn't even mine. I took pictures of the unto I rented when I left. They are the worst! Good luck to whoever rents from them, their terrible in the office!

I rented a home from Matel's property management office and would never recommend anyone renting from there. The house was awesome, and the price was unbeatable. however you get what you pay for. And that was definitely the case here. We were very low-maintenance renters. Never asked for anything. And when I had to urgently move because of an emergency after living there for over a year, they completely screwed us over.

We paid in full the deposit as well as the first month's rent up front. When we left we had everything professionally cleaned, including the carpets, to make sure we get our deposit back. It looked as good as new, and when their "inspector" came to judge how much damage was done to the house (there was none), they not only kept our deposit, but charged us an additional $960 for things like "gas leaks on the driveway, " "paint chips" and "broken blinds." All of which were untrue.

At the time I was unable to afford this expense out of pocket. So I went down to the office and explained to them the situation, hoping to come to some kind of compromise so it didn't ruin my credit forever, they were not understanding in any way, and completely unreasonable about the situation. DON'T RENT THROUGH THEM.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. This is the most unprofessional and rude property management company I have ever dealt with. Steven at the front desk is the worst. Just calling to check on my application status seems like a chore to him.

Let's start with horrible customer service, they talk to their potential tenants/ existing tenants as if their stupid. come to find out its a business full of family (the reason why they continue to have a job) they're very unknowledgeable about their properties, but their quick to take money. They try not to give copies of important paperwork such as legal agreements, and keep deposits unlawfully. Such a crooked company it's so hard for me to understand how they still have a functioning business.

Don't ever rent from this shitty place. You'll regret it. I don't even want to give them 1 star. Try to keep my deposit for a place that was shitty before I moved in. Take pictures of the place before u move in because they'll make u pay for something that was broke before u moved it. Run away from this place ASAP!
