I have lived under this management for 3 years now and I feel like such a bother when addressing safety concerns or incidents that arise to them. One thing tenants want to ensure above all else is that they are safe where they live. Although they don't have control over what happens in the community, they do have control over their properties. A multi-million dollar property management company and it has been a struggle working with them sometimes. Jeff has helped me tremendously since living here and Jessica has always been pleasant, and Sage seems pretty cool too, so I hate to include individuals who have done well by me, however something has to give when tenants address issues that arise within their control.

I spoke to tenants all over the building and even the building they own next door and I have heard some very unpleasant things. We pay $1000 to live in these units, a lot of us hard working adults just trying to come home and enjoy the property we are paying to reside in, thats all. I am not one to make complaints and love to keep the peace because its who I am, I get along with everyone and always avoid conflict but when you feel like you are being gaslighted, ignored and not taken seriously it bothers tenants who pay money to them to keep their business thriving.

I hope they internalize these honest ratings and come up with a strategic plan of how they can better monitor their property and ensure the safety of their tenants. The tenants literally look out for each more so because we don't feel they will do that for us. We see things, hear things and end up just mostly sharing it with each other because when we do share it with management there isn't much resolution.

They need to hire more impressionable, respectful and nice staff members as individuals like property managers and front desk/assistants are the faces of the company and who people interact with the most. Those are the first and last impressions of a business and as a current manager, these are things you learn in business. The feedback people leave is extremely important to helping business grow and should always be taking into consideration of simply "how can we be better". and that doesn't seem to happen here.

I'm on the 2nd year of my lease in my apartment. 3 months into my renewed lease, my ceiling sprung a leak (aka the roof). At first they were very communicative, telling me that they were trying their best to fix it and that they would get someone to come out to take care of it. I was never home when they said they would be there, so I don't know if they ever actually were.

It's been 3 months now since the initial leak and it's still not fixed and it keeps getting worse. The building manager is ignoring my calls and e-mails. I'm willing to live with this situation as I understand that it might be difficult to take care of in the middle of winter, but they will not grant me any leeway in the form of reduced rent as I am living in a construction zone (and a smaller space than I signed a lease to live in) and they will not hear my request to move into another one of their units for the rest of my lease.

I have always been a good tenant and have paid my rent on time (up until this issue). I'm in a constant state of stress every time it rains, as I don't know if my buckets will hold out or if another spot on the ceiling will start to let water through. My wall is cracked and brown and peeling and it's disgusting. My renters insurance won't cover any property damage done as it's an issue with their building and nothing that they insure.

The only reason they get 2 stars is the first year of living there was fine (Minus the squirrels in the walls, which they eventually, after many requests, took care of) and they say they have been working on fixing the roof. I'm about to have a nervous breakdown because of this and they just don't care. For the record: Even though they say it was fixed below, the roof continued to leak until the day I moved out. and I was never compensated (in reduced rent) for my poor living conditions. I only wish I could have warned the person that moved in after me.

Overall a great experience! Rebecca was great when I wanted to see apartments a second time before making a decision about moving. She even helped me out with requesting a work order when things weren't quite righto n my move in day. My only complaint was the fact that the offices for signing the lease were in Schenectady instead of Albany and were only open during business hours so I had to take an afternoon off from work in order to get out there. Nonetheless, the group deserves 5 stars!

I was extremely happy with the leasing process w Maddalone. They have an organized process of screening to assure we would be a good fit for the places we were interested in. Or leasing agent was very professional and friendly. She suggested several other homes aside from the one we had inquired about and made time for us to tour each one. In fact, We decided on one she suggested instead.

It took only a few days for approval and to sign the lease. She made the lease signing fun as well as very informative going over every detail to be sure we understood all the terms and answered all our questions to our satisfaction! Our new place has been very comfortable and any time we have had an issue or concern they have been very helpful. It's great that we can do everything online, including putting in requests for maintenance!

We have only had to pt in one request but within 24 hours we were contacted by Omarie and she dispatched maintenance to come and fix the issue in no time! So far we've had a great experience and are happy we chose to rent from this company.

I recently rented from Maddalone and I'm extremely with my new place! Rebecca was my agent and she was Great! She showed us a couple of places and found us one that was the perfect fit. She's always nice and she is the best for getting things done when we need something or have a question. The apartment is great for the price!

We were looking to find a new apartment that had more space and was closer to work. Anthony Burke was great; very nice, not at all pushy, easy to talk to, and attentive. We had a few hiccups in the process prior to signing the lease, but they were very accommodating. The building definitely has its quirks, but everything has been great so far with the apartment!

Anyone reading these comments, please head the warnings. This company is the worst I've ever done business with. When I went to sign the lease, 2 days before moving, I was told there isn't a washer and dryer any longer. Even though the apt was advertised with laundry facilities and I was told that there was a washer and dryer in the basement when I viewed the apt. Anyhow, I had no choice at that late date but to move.

When I went to move in, it was a Friday evening, I couldn't access the apartment. The leasing agent gave me the wrong keys. I had professional movers coming in the morning so I called Maddalone's emergency maintenance. The person who showed was great but warned me that any promises made to me at the time I saw the apartment wouldn't be upheld. He said that he sees it happen time and time again.

Once I gained access to the apartment none of the maintenance that was promised to me during the time I saw the apartment had been done. I took pics of everything. I would have not moved in but I had movers coming in the AM, the house I was currently renting had sold so I needed to move and I have two dogs. I had no choice but to move in. Let me say, I moved in on 7/1/18 and moved out on 8/27/18.

It wasn't the apt that had been promised and Maddalone knew it. They let me out of my lease because I have a boat load of evidence of promises made and upheld. Now, it is 10/29/18. I still have not received my security deposit back. On 10/16/18 I was told by the account manager, Samantha Short, that the check would be mailed by the end of the week.

I still haven't received it. I have tried reaching out to Samantha again but she's ignoring me. Now I must file a suit with small claims court. Please learn from my mistake and don't rent from Maddalone under any circumstance. If you do, trust me when I say, you'll regret the decision.

Honestly wish I didn't have to leave a star at all because it defeats my purpose of this post. This company is terrible not only did they withhold my deposit (which was a hefty deposit might I add) because we turned in the keys 2 days late, we were also renting a 1 bedroom apartment and the bedroom had no window. My husband and I did not know at the time that this was in fact a code violation.

They never fixed anything and the washer and dryer in the basement always flooded. Big company that loves to scam and withhold money from tenants. it has been 3 years and we never received our deposit.

We've lived in (2) apartments managed by Maddalone & Associates. Our rental agent was great but the services provided and the condition of the apartments and complex were far from great. Lights would burn out in the Hallways and not be replaced after months, there was a hole in our front door (living on Lark street you'd prefer to have a complete door for security reasons), the back stairwell was always cluttered with garbage and insulation which I'm sure is against fire code.

We then quickly transferred our lease within Maddalone to another "newer" property on Broadway. At first it was great until the washers above our apartment started leaking down into our living room cause the paint and ceiling to "bubble". Calls were made to the "emergency" line and emails were sent to multiple people. After days turned into weeks finally and repair came to see the damage then went to fix the washers.

Our ceiling was never fixed. To this day (we moved out in December 2013) the ceiling is probably still damaged. After we finally moved out and left Maddalone and Associates we weren't sent our deposit check for 4 months which we then found out we were charged for late fee's that didn't add up. We requested proof showing either our negligence paying late or proof that we hadn't already paid our late fee's. No answer from them yet. Long story short they shorted us over $500 and I would not recommend leasing from them to ANYONE!
