2 minutes ago I am a born and raised San Diegan and have rented all of my adult life. I have rented from local management companies such as SRM Urban, Cazador, Utopia, and Torrey Pines. Of all my interactions with these property management companies, none have made me feel less valuable as a tenant or as a human being than McKee Properties. McKee purchased the apartment complex I live in in October 2021 and it has been impossible to get a response from them regarding any tenant needs since then.

If I call, I am told that whoever I need to speak with is "on a call and will get back as soon as possible." I have left dozens of voicemails with a variety of staff and have yet to receive any significant response as I am writing this June of 2022. I have had minimal text communication, despite my persistance, with Briana of McKee. This is regardless of the fact that our correspondence began in April.

As I am writing this review she still has yet to address either of the issues that I initially wrote to her with 3 months ago. Not only is McKee slow to respond but when they do, they give conflicting information to tenants of the same building. Are the parking spaces first come first served, or by assignment only? Do they cost $120 monthly or $50? Are we still being assigned trash keys or just expected to leave the area unlocked?

These are all questions and issues that have arisen only since McKee took over our property and began giving conflicting information to tenants. As I continue to rent in the future I will absolutely never rent from McKee Properties again. The attitudes of the few folks I have been able to get ahold of have been so poor and unconcerned that I would prioritize paying an even higher rent or living somewhere less desirable if it meant I could get away from renting from McKee Properties.

Very happy with McKee Properties, they've taken care of me and everything I've needed.

We called yesterday to book a tour for a property. They said they could show the house to us in a few hours. As we do not have a car my partner and I walked THREE HOURS (one way).All for them to never show up. We waited an hour along with another potential resident. All three of us attempted to contact the leasing office as we waited and waited. They did not pickup the phone for any of us.

This is lousy management and incredibly unprofessional of McKee Properties. Highly disappointed. Wish giving them 0 stars here was an option as they did absolutely nothing about informing us they were going to bail.

Trying to get maintenance done is like pulling teeth! They use the cheapest, unprofessional and down right most seedy vendors. I guess trying to minimize costs at the renters expense. Absolute nightmare.

If I could give them a zero star I would I just went to downtown San Diego paid $15 for parking and called 5 minutes after My appointment and was told by Erika she would hunt down Jason if I didn't see him and to call her back if I needed her to hunt him down?! Are you kidding me?! Its 30 MINUTES LATER! Multiple unanswered calls! I'm standing in front of the building downtown after paying for parking around a bunch of homeless people with trash all over the place I do not recommend these peoples properties or customer service. Then I did call them back and they didn't answer I was completely ignored an inconvenience my entire family

I have rented from private owners for twelve years and I confess that going back to having a property management company had me a little worried. Seems that worry was undue. Brendan was approachable and accommodating during the application process, which was quick and easy. A few months in to tenancy now and Briana and the team have been friendly and responsive to maintenance needs. To top it all off, they make paying rent a breeze. Ever had a landlord charge you a $20 "convenience fee" for paying online? - No thank you.

Although my initial impression was less than spectacular, I received a phone call from Brandon to set things right. This gentleman cares for this company and it shows. He was very responsive, and provided good customer service. I hope his employees will take note that a kind word or gesture can go along way. Although I have decided to go in a different direction, Brandon deserves a 5 star rating for his efforts. Thanks Brandon, all the best.

I'm a new tenant & I'm so impressed, it's only right to give them the 5 stars they deserve. Special thanks toAnthony, Briana &Erika for making this whole experience run smoothly as possible from start to finish. They've been very professional &attentive to my needs and questions, respond in a timely manner. My apartment itself is absolutely beautiful! lovely spacious kitchen, internet ready, parking space, fresh coat of paint, pet friendly, welcoming neighbors. SUPER happy, thank you.

This place definitely needs some work! The only reason I'm giving them a two star is Erica! She is always nice and super friendly! Every other staff member needs to work on communication! When someone has an issue or something is being looked into the lack of communication to a tenant is outrageous! There is rarely a follow up phone call to let you know what's going on 99.9% of the time it's a day or two later when u find out.

When u have a maintenance issue and the company can't make it out there is no call or email to let you know about the cancellation. So if u took off work it was for nothing and u have to take off again and again and again to get issues resolved. If your a landlord I would not use this company they don't communicate to a tenant and renting with them becomes a nightmare so u don't even want to deal with them.

It makes the owner look as if they don't care about the property they own or the people renting from them. Secondly when you move into a place to then realize there is tons of scratches to walls and damage things leaking it makes u wonder if they even inspected the place before the last people moved out.

McKee Commercial, specifically Ashley Huss, is the best Property Manager in town. I have worked with Ashley first as a Customer and now as a Contractor. I used to work for a very "picky" employer and had gone through a few property management companies before we found and stayed with McKee. Their online portal made it easy to submit requests and Ashley would always respond on the same day no matter how ridiculous the request.

Now I work for a Roofing Contractor who McKee uses to service their Clients. Ashley puts the needs of her Clients first, even if its 9pm on a Friday night! If her Client has a roof leak, she is working to try to resolve it as fast as possible.

Fantastic local management company that has excellent communication and really seems to support their team as well as the service providers they work with. Robin Hathaway has been very responsive with her follow up and always ensuring questions are answered quickly. Highly recommend their management services.

This property management company is a joke they are Slum Lords! My wall heater has not worked in two Winters the paint is peeling off the walls my garbage disposal keeps going out and the cabinet floor under the sink is rotted out and there's a big hole. My apartment flooded one year while I was on vacation and all they did was tear up the carpet and put new carpet in on top of the old padding and tack strips.

The carpet in my bedroom and living room are not even the same color it's two different pieces of carpet it looks like scraps that they just found lying in an alley and threw in my apartment, it's ridiculous! And that's not even the worst part the worst part is the black mold in my bathroom that they have been neglecting and ignoring!

5 stars go to Isaac for fixing our screens yesterday. He was prompt, friendly and respectful. He listened to our concerns, checked all the windows, secured and tightened the screens. He made sure we were satisfied with his work before leaving. He went above and beyond! Thanks Isaac for the great work!

Decent webpage. Went to apply for property rental, and it says online and on their number you can schedule showings 7 days a week. Paid the application fee for a property. No returned call, no email nothing. Took our money and no response. Would not recommend this business for those wanting to rent in Sam Diego.

Talk about a great asset management company with great employees McKee and Isaac Garcia are wonderful. Isaac did work on my unit and was incredibly efficient, got the job done right the first time, and cleaned up the workplace completely. Thank you McKee and Isaac Garcia.

McKee has managed my property on and off for the past 4 years. They are a highly professional group of people to work with who ensure that your investment is cared for properly. My home's value has only increased during their care thanks to their diligence in finding appropriate tenants. They made renting out my property a hassle free endeavor. McKee has my strongest recommendation in asset management!

I can only speak for my experience with Anthony DiVincenzo, but it was great. He was flexible with me when I was going through a stressful move and was more than fair on the deposit after I moved. Very professional and beyond courteous from day one to after I moved.

Matthew did a great job to help fix my heater leakage! Very good response time and easy to be approached! I would recommend McKee to my friends.

Our apartment was robbed the other day while I was home and one of the things they took were my keys. Issac was over within an hour of me calling to change all of our locks. I truly appreciated that he fit us in so last minute and on a Friday afternoon/evening too! Issac was awesome as well as Patrick when I called about the robbery. McKee Properties is an awesome property management and I would recommend them to anyone!

I have been working with McKee Company for over 20 years as a property owner. They have always taken excellent care of both me and my property. A little more than 9 years ago I had the pleasure of connecting with Briana Blakney in her initial role as administrative assistant to the maintenance department. Over the years her position has changed as she has grown with the company but one thing hasn't changed.her commitment to excellent customer service.

Regardless of the situation, Briana has always been my "go to" person. She has always had the ability to make me feel like I'm her only client. Between Briana and the rest of the team at McKee Company I can rest assured that I'm in good hands!

Just wanted to give McKee maintenance a big thumbs-up especially to Isaac who goes above and beyond the call of duty. Keep up the good work.

I think I should articulate a little more my previous review. I recently moved to San Diego and I was looking for a nice place to call home. I started searching online for the best management properties company and I found Mckee Properties. They have been around for over 30 years and I decided to contact them. They are very professional and after couple of days I was able to move in my new home. You know what they say, "Love makes a house a home" and I can guarantee they really put their heart in their business!

I've been using McKee Properties for the past 5 years to manage my rental properties. They are hands down the best property management company I have worked with. Brendan and his team are on top of it, and any time I have a question or an issue it gets addressed immediately. I highly recommend McKee for any property owner looking for professional management services.

I am giving McKee Asset Property management five stars because their maintenance man Keith Shaver is awesome! He worked very hard and stayed to figure out the problem with our electricity, and fixed it, leaving us very happy with a job well done! He is so dependable and I know if they send Keith, the problem will be solved! He is always friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable! He rocks! Thanks Mckee for having such a superb maintenance man, Keith Shaver on your team!

Great management company. Briana and Matt are on the ball with everything. I'll repairs are fixed in the house I rent swiftly. Very friendly staff also. Will use them in the future to manage my own property.

This is my final review and testimony for McKee Asset Management after using them for roughly 3 years. I had to break my lease 1 month early due to a new job opportunity in Denver, CO. I called Briana Blakney, explained my situation, and asked if she could work with me to get it rented ASAP. Briana genuinely bent over backwards for me, and was in touch daily until my move out date.

She ended up getting the town house rented early, expedited the process each step of the way, and saved me 5 weeks in rent. This was a huge financial relief. As with any last minute cross country move, there were a variety of complications, none being McKee Asset Management's fault, but they did help me each step of the way. They honestly made my stressful situation much better and without them it would have been more difficult overall. I've dealt with a variety different property management companies, and some private owners; I can confidently say that after 3 years McKee has earned 5 stars. If you have an opportunity to use them, then I would highly recommend it. They're responsive, friendly, and accommodating.

Rental owners. Do not use this mgt. company for rental. After the first year agreement continuing lease becomes month to month. McKee hits lessor with so called "lease renewal fees" that are bogus. Their was no lease renewal as they postured. They do not mgt. the property. I had a burglary. McKee failed to get police report as requested. Non-lease contract people occupied the unit with out McKee even being aware. Lessee damages upon vacancy were extensive and beyond the security deposit.

The lessee failed to pay the last month rent in blatant violation of the contract. McKee made no effort to collect last months rent owed and were dismissive of their contractual obligation to collect that and the damages. This an incompetent rental property mgt. company that is more interested in its own fees than your property.

I moved into an apartment in Cortez Hill. I am 100% satisfied-- the move in process was seamless and the management set up everything I needed with the HOA. I am able to pay my rent completely online which is super convenient. One small issue with an interior light was fixed right away and I haven't had any other problems. Thank you!

Glad I read these reviews as this company seems to fall in line with my quick experience. I would imagine a little more tact and service when you're looking to spend well over $30,000 with someone in a year. I understand slightly the desire to verbally "pre qualify" someone when speaking over the phone. While extremely tacky, it seems some "realtors" state the credit requirements.

What I found obnoxious was the short toned women that answered their phone. While stating the above, she informed me if I was going to come alone without my fiance to view, or send my brother (as we live in Orange County) "to make sure whoever goes takes a lot of pictures and videos, because they won't show the property more than once". Excuse me? You're about to spend over 30k and you're treated like someone that should be grateful for their time and you're a deadbeat. Zero customer service relations. I wouldn't deal with them. Those looking for a place, and especially those who want their properties managed, they would represent your interests terribly. Avoid!

I am surprised to read such negative reviews. I have been a tenant of Mckee's for almost 6 years now and all my service needs have been handled promptly. Mckee manages for owners so perhaps some renters have owners that don't want to fix issues in their homes? Matthew with maintenance has always gotten back to me right away and resolved a fridge, microwave, garbage disposal, washer and dryer which all were replaced at some point in the years I lived in the rental home. I would rent a home managed by them again. I also like that we can pay our rent on line.
