When we opened our doors in 1969, the San Diego real estate and rental market was far different than it is today. But some things have not changed, particularly when it comes to good management practices. Quality rental investments are still developed the way they always have been, through careful attention to detail and strong relationships with both tenants and owners.

Dedicated to providing the premier property management in San Diego, we at Melroy Property Management and Investments have built our business on delivering the best property management services available.

Services
When we started doing business in 1969, San Diego was considerably smaller. The real estate market here was growing, but it still had a long way to go before reaching its current state. But even in those first years of doing business, we knew what it took to build a valuable property management and investment business.
When looking at property management companies in San Diego, it is important to be aware of the management services they provide. At Melroy Property Management and Investment, our aim is to provide our clients with all of the services they could ever need. This means taking into account all of the needs that our clients will have while renting their property and making the process of renting as seamless as possible.
Since 1969, Melroy Investments Inc. has remained a leader in the real estate investment industry, and has kept abreast of economic fluctuations that affect the direction of this specialized field. Depending on your needs as an investor, you can be constantly in touch with us as we guide you through the investment process, or receive updated information on current market conditions as you need it.
Searching for a quality rental in the San Diego area can be extremely challenging. While there are always plenty of advertisements for available properties, few of them measure up when you visit them in person. This makes the process of finding a rental that meets your criteria, yet remains within your budget, both time consuming and frustrating.

Do not just take photos when you move out; take a video and use everything in the apartment. They charged me $70 and alleged that the garbage disposal did not work, even though I had used it two days before I moved out and it was fine. It's not egregious compared to other landlords, but it is frustrating to be nickeled and dimed like that for a company's profit. $1825/month wasn't enough?

They also increased the cost of using the washer by $.25 and the cost of using the dryer by $.50 within the month that I moved in. I was only there for three months but they increase the rent for the new tenants taking over my lease by $75. I know the rental market is crazy right now, but it's also not hard to be fair and I felt something so that we're not fair and I want other people to know in the interest of transparency.

This was on the 4600 block of 32nd St. I will say, they were accommodating in helping me in my lease early and did not charge me for time the unit was an occupied because I helped show the apartment to potential tenants. I did appreciate that and that is why I have given them two stars instead of just one.

Please be aware this company is a scam. Specifically Alma one of the rental agents. She will steal your deposit and not return your calls or your emails. Stay away from this company!

Absolutely the worst property management I have ever encountered. The quality of service was poor. The manager was non responsive to our basic need. Electricity was out in half the unit for 3 months. Mold in the unit wasn't resolved for 4-5 months. Was evicted during the pandemic. Should I say more. Save your energy find somewhere else please.

Lou was an awesome landlord. He was always fast and supportive with questions and requests when I needed to reach out to the company and was just overall very friendly. This was my first time renting after college but Lou and the rest of the team made it a great experience!

I never actually rented from them, but my experience with Lou during my apartment search was great. I've dealt with other property managers over the past weeks who never returned phone calls, texts or emails. Apartment hunting is stressful and he was the first to make it easy and hopeful. I found their posting for a 1 bedroom apartment on Padmapper and filled out a contact form.

He texted early the very next day (on a weekend even!) and politely asked if he could call me to set up an appointment to see the unit I was interested in. It was a self tour and he set me up with a lock box code and answered all my questions. He was so kind and very professional. I decided to go with a different property but I sent him a text thanking him for all his help. He said he appreciated the compliment and if there is anything he could do in the future with a new apartment or house, to let him know. Truly one of a kind.

I'm so disappointed with this company. We found a property we were so excited to move into with our kids; however, 10 days after we signed the lease COVID-19 began and I lost my job. We sent written notice to the management company as soon as I found out, but they kept our full deposit without us ever moving in or completing a walk through. With everything going on in the world right now, we expected at least SOME decency, but received none. Understandably we never should've given them our money. We will not work with this management company ever again.

Military military military Do not use this company. You would think people would be more flexible when a service member and his wife whom have stay 11 months needed to terminate one month early because of orders. Instead they robbed us of our deposit. Lou is not a man of his word.

What happened to Alma? We are not getting any service from Melroy Property Management. Apartments on 4245 -45th street. Now they have allowed dogs. The new neighbors have a dog, no answer when I emailed a complaint to Melroy. Our washing machine has been broken since March and we keep getting the runaround when we call. Emails are never answered - Alma used to answer in a timely fashion. COME ON NOW - WE ARE STILL PAYING THE FULL RENT. Does anyone know how stressful going to a laundry mat is?

Can I charge Melroy for the pain and suffering of going out to a laundry mat? I wonder if I would get a response if I short paid my rent? Someone would notice then. Yes, I am mad. Current Tenant

Lou has always been very quick to respond and show genuine concern for the needs I have. I would recommend him to anyone. Also he always has a contractor out the same day when there has been an issue! A+ 10/10

Melroy staff especially our manager were very helpful and marvelously helped with me with issues I recently had. I got so worried about being so late in paying my rent so Contacted Management first to address the issue and it went well and had explained that I would be able to pay on next payday with late payment charges as well as the NSF.

I had the pleasure of working with Jamie Fields, and thankfully so, I found my new apartment within one day! She made the process of finding a new apartment to lease and I couldn't have done it without her help. With her expertise, I was able to find the apartment that was suited perfectly for me. Thank you Jamie Fields, I highly recommend her!

Melroy recently took over management of the complex where we rent. I received a letter indicating how to pay my rent, and I registered on their site, only to never get a reply. As such, I spent half a work day driving around getting money orders and hand delivering payment to their office, Then on a Sunday night, they stuck a note on the door indicating a need to enter my place the following morning.

Under California law, they must provide at least 24hrs notice, if not more over the weekend. I called to let them know I did not want them entering my premises without proper notice. Did they return the call? No. Did they respect my request? Nope. Rather, they did indeed enter the premises, which is both trespassing under the law, and violation of privacy rights. Sadly, I've only had two interactions with this company and already they've justified their one star average. Stay away.
