DO NOT STAY HERE EVER. I know the rates seem good but it's because they scam anyone and everyone when it's time to move out. They tried to charge me the equivalent of 4 months rent for cheap carpet that smelled of mold when I moved in. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT STAY HERE.

Crooks! Moving out is the problem! Like so many of the awful experiences and reviews documented here, my experience with Prairie Property Management was mostly fine until I gave notice. As my offices had moved I decided after 2 years of significant rent increases I would move. So on May 17th I reached out to Lori from PPM to see if they had other properties available in their portfolio.

I told her I was looking to move and that I would be looking around to see my options. She told me they did not have anything available as yet but she would let me know if anything came available. After a couple of weeks of focused looking I finally found a potential place, however, I still had to get approved and finalized. On June 7th I gave my notice.my lease ends July 31st meaning that I was now inside the 60 days notice.

What I received next is a shocker! I have attached the letter here to show how they treat people for every one to see with their own eyes. **Check out page 3 with the check out list! So not only are they holding me to the 60 days notice (even though they really knew earlier) they are charging me for August which is an additional months rent past my lease date!

Don't even get me started on their $300.00 Re-rental fee! This letter and it's tone says it all, not only does it harshly lay out their intent making it clear that a deposit is not to be considered a deposit but rather the cost of preparing their unit for the next tenant? But it also immediately threatens with collections! Long story short, I am not done here.there are a lot of potential tenants that need to warned how they will be treated and more importantly a lot of existing tenants that need to know what to expect!

I will be doing my best with social media to ensure both are properly warned! Lastly, any positive reviews in here are likely from people before they moved. Obviously I would not recommend anyone deal with this company. This company is clearly using the deposits and damage fees as their own revenue source with no intention of returning peoples funds.

Prairie Property Management has been nothing short of excellent to live in. I moved into the First Street lofts in Bismarck in August/September time and in the last 5-6 months, it's been great. Tanner Avelsgard with PPM has been great. Any time I've had any question at all, he's been very helpful! They even did a cool Meet & Greet when the apartment building first opened up.

They brought food, and did a bunch of really cool gift cards. I have so many positive things to say, but huge shoutout to Tanner, the folks at PPM, and everybody at the First Street Loft building.

I had a showing today with Lori and I can truly say that I was so impressed on her professionalism and how kind and helpful she was. She was so responsive and made everything so easy and made us feel very comfortable. Aside from that the apartments we looked at today were so nice and clean and highly recommended! Thank you

Critical: Professionalism, Quality I agree with these reviews about the office manager, Colette, she's horribly rude. Shes supposed to be the Human Resources manager according to their website too, YIKES. Not to mention this place looses employees left and right.

I do not recommend this company. It took too many emails to get anything done. Managers to not read full emails and will reply to only the first sentence of what you say. They will charge your entire deposit for repainting and normal wear even if you had work orders, so don't expect it back. Work orders often ignored. Summary: expensive price, cheap homes, not worth

The. Northern lights is a beautiful building. Great tenants. I have been renting with prairie property for 6 years. Tara and Jeanine have been amazing property managers.

I lived in Tuscany Villas for over two years and absolutely loved it. I had a couple of routine maintenance issues that were addressed in a very timely manner. Upon moving out, received a very fair amount of my deposit back. I have rented from several companies in Fargo and this was by far my best experience. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying a couple things: 1) I never leave bad reviews. 2) I have rented 8 properties in the past 10 years so I have dealt with many different property management companies. -When we first moved into our townhome, we scheduled a walk through with Tara to complete the checklist of damages that were done to our place before we moved in.

When we arrived, she had already completed the checklist and made notes of everything for us. At first we were thinking how awesome and nice of her that was but looking back, that's how it all began. PEOPLE, GO THOUGH THE UNIT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU MOVE IN AND TAKE NOTES YOURSELF AND PHOTOS OR YOU WILL GET SCREWED! Honestly, we had zero issues until it came time to move out / getting our security deposit back.

We were charged $200 for paint touch ups and nail holes, $172 for "repairs to unit" and $60 for cleaning. Upon moving out, FIVE people pitched in deep cleaning the entire unit to which we followed their cleaning checklist provided to us. On that checklist, it clearly stated NOT to fill our own nail holes, which we are absolutely capable of doing and have always done so in previous units.

There was no reasoning to the $172 "repairs to unit" until my husband called to ask about it. Turns out, we were charged for a missing mail key, which I know FOR A FACT that we were only given one and it was returned, water damage to a window sill THAT WAS THERE BEFORE WE MOVED IN, a light bulb burnt out, even though we TRIPLE checked all light bulbs before leaving, and a new furnace filter, but never mind we made a special trip to target just a few days before to purchase and replace it ourselves! Prairie CLEARLY takes advantage of their tenants security deposits and uses them to update their units.

In the past 10 years of renting, we have ALWAYS received our ENTIRE security deposit back! We also always pay our rent on time and leave the unit in better condition than it was when we moved in and we PRIDE OURSELVES ON THAT. After moving out of quite a few different places, we're pros when it comes to the process it takes to be phenomenal tenants and just good humans in general. Current tenants and future tenants, PLEASE BEWARE! Do NOT trust them and document everything!

Absolute thieves! I rented a 3br 3ba townhome from Prairie Property Management for almost 2 years and all was well and fine until post checkout. I was charged $200 for nail holes and paint touch ups, $172 for repairs, & $60 for cleaning. Yet they ask you not to fill nail holes or do touch ups yourself, I didn't damage an inch of the unit, and cleaned the unit better than it was when I moved in (and according to their cleaning checklist).

This company clearly uses their checkouts as a revenue stream praying on trusting good tenants to make a quick buck. Prairie learn how to appreciate a good tenant instead of running off the tenants that a landloard wants. Ya'll are absolute thieves. For context I have a pristine 10yr rental history (in 7 different units) and always have had my entire security deposit returned and never have been late on rent.

I leave places better than I find them and pride myself on that. I will never refer someone back to Prairie again - stay clear of this places rentals and if you have to rent from them don't trust a sentence out of their mouths!

I took over a lease that had 8 months left. after telling me that a lease take over is "AS IS" and that I take responsibility for any damage from the previous renters at the end of the lease. I took it anyways the apartment was old and run down but nothing major. After living there for 2 months I decided I'd be moving back to my home state and that I would like to terminate my lease and/or get it taken over.

The property manager/area manager told me I would need to do all my own advertising. so I did. I found several people interested but when those people called the company to look some where shown other available units instead of mine. By the time someone decided to take over my apartment I had paid 2 months rent on a vacant apartment from a different state.

Which is fine I knew I'd have to but when the new person moved in they made him sign a new lease instead of taking over mine. After he moved in I received a bill for the electric from when the apartment was vacant as well as a $300 "termination" fee after they told me several times terminating wasn't an option. When I called corporate to ask about this and see why o was charged they said they charge a $300 fee for advertising the apartment. but yet they made me do it myself.

They are charging ridiculous fees and doing anything they can to rip you off as much as possible. Crappy management. Poor maintenance. And disrespectful employees. Beware of renting.
