MOST IF NOT ALL 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FROM PRG EMPLOYEES! ------- Some insight: This company gets away with patting themselves on the back with meaningless accolades and "awards". Fire broke out in our apartment from an outlet that was 1 inch from my son's bed, which caught fire while he was in it. Luckily he woke up from the heat and escaped injury The commissioners investigation deemed this accidental and cause of ignition was electrical arching.

These people denied us any help with another apartment stating they are 98% full. While that may be true it doesn't serve me well in any regard as a client whom has paid $1,700 almost 24 months thus far. No other option for help with shelter given. The people themselves aren't bad people, they're probably doing as instructed, which is rather unprofessional and probably unethical, especially when they slapped paint over the melted outlet and told us the apartment was ready to move back in, amongst other negligible concerns we still have that I'm sure will go unresolved.

My family and I relocated from Cleveland Ohio to Durham North Carolina and stayed at South Square Townhomes from 11/2017-2/2019. The process of getting the apartment was very pleasurable since we were doing everything electronically and over the phone. Our time here was really good with the exception of our unit 5A being very drafty in the winter and heat never really warming up as we felt it should nor did the air condition ever get cool and flow evenly through the unit we would literally sweat profusely in the summer time, the walls were paper thin and we could hear all of our neighbors conversations, our neighbor had an unauthorized dog that was never on a leash that jumped on my then 5 year old daughter who is fearful of dogs by the way, we had a flood in our downstairs bathroom, and most importantly we were lied to.

We had just signed a lease renewal 10/2018 and my husband received a new job that led us to relocate out of state again. We paid the necessary fees to break the lease and were told by the leasing manager that we good on everything and could move out and would receive our security deposit in the mail. Weeks after we moved out we received a letter in the mail that we would not be receiving our security deposit and that we actually owed them $500+ due to floor damage from dog urine. DOG URINE?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

My family has never been pet owners and never would we ever have a dog when our then 5 year old was terrified of dogs. Now this lie is negatively affecting our credit, this is establishment is a scam and we are currently looking into obtaining legal assistance to address this issue with this fraudulent company. My husband and I have rented several units before and have never had such a horrible experience like this one. IF YOU'RE READING THIS PLEASE BE SMART AND DO NOT RENT WITH THEM UNLESS YOU LIKE BE SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR MONEY! Sincerely, Keith and Tonaya Jackson Update 5/5/22: I want to be fair and say that since posting this review and contacting the Better Business Bureau, this company has contacted my husband & I and did indeed right their wrong. They made an error and charged us for another tenants unit. It's just unfortunate that we had to go through this in the first place.

DO NOT RENT FROM ANY OF THEIR PROPERTIES! Absolutely horrible. I wish I could give this company negative stars! Apartment was not cleaned at move-in and claimed it was cleaned professionally. We are now disputing a charge and want proof of cleaning and they said they don't professionally clean the apartments. In the middle of a global pandemic, they aren't cleaning spaces between tenants?!?

In the middle of disputing the charge, they sent us to collections, even though we have been cooperative and in communication with them. This was only one of many issues. An absolute headache and so much wasted time and money. Could not recommend any less.

Moved out of Ashton Creek in December. Was a short term resident. I very much enjoyed my time there. However, the parent company PRG has a horrible reputation with me. It had been a month and a half since I moved out and was not contacted about receiving my security deposit. I reached out to the company and was told "we'll get right back with you".

Since then I've called back everyday with all of my calls going straight to voicemail and not a single returned call. I will continue to call back everyday until I am received. There is no reason I should be losing my security deposit either I was a resident for 3 months and took great care of the property.

Failed to report a water line break from the apartment above while out of town. Son came home to many ruined items and ceiling caved in. They then charged him for breaking his lease when he left as no alternative living situation was offered. I would give negative stars if that was possible.

If zero or negative stars were possible, this would of been my choice. When a resident goes out of town and a pipe bursts all over the apartment, do you think "management" should tell the resident? How about when the place becomes flooded, the resident's belongings are ruined, mold grows, and the place is unlivable? Or when the resident leaves the apartment due to these conditions and is charged for braking the lease early?

Apparently if you work at PRG this is acceptable to its residents. Completely unprofessional to say the least. Do not live at their properties, do not even bother taking a tour.

PRG is the all time worse company to ever deal with. My apartment has backed up several times since I've moved in last November 2020 causing damage to my property. When I contacted the leasing office, the only thing Sonia, the property could say was "file a claim". I then reached out to her boss Crystal whom which is the senior property manager about relocating my family to another unit at which she replied they would only relocate me if I agree to pay the difference for a so called fully renovated apartment which has the exact same renovations as my current apartment not to mention the 2nd option of terminating my lease without any fees.

That mean I would lose out on my security deposit as well as my current rental payment I recently paid for renewal. I then reached out to corporate whom which I have yet to receive a response from. This is by far the worse company I have ever rented from. STAY FAR AWAY!

I made the mistake of Renting with these THIEVES! I would not recommend any of their communities to anyone the sheer lack of organization is just the tip of the iceberg. I called 3 separate times for the leak in my roof for it to be patched by contractors if you can call them that but breathing in the mold was an added bonus. Parking if you have more than one car good luck after 5 pm finding a spot not blocks away from your car nothing like being a single woman walking at night blocks away from your apartment!

Oh and every week your water or electricity or both will be off for someone "improvement" I have yet to see. Not to mention when you move out they will gauge you for any and everything thing they can because it's your responsibility to pay for every improvement they will so they can walk the next guest in I cleaned that apartment carpet included for them to charge me for everything under the sun STAY AWAY FROM THE SLUM LORD. Oh and good luck disputing they will avoid you at all cost!

This is what residents have had to look at for 3weeks now at Ashton Creek in Chester Va. Management is slow to respond or just ignore. Trash compactor either is clogged or doesn't work 9 times out of 10. This summer pool has been closed more then open. This trash is a eye sore to the community. How can you show s property when this is right near the entrance to the apartments? Been here 10 years and seriously thinking of NOT renewing our lease next year.

Stay away from PRG properties is my recommendation! If you'd like your security deposit refunded, rent somewhere else. Their call center needs serious customer service training, rude!

Unfortunately this is the worst property management company. Do yourself a favor and stay away. After months of pleading for help with a noise issue nothing was ever done other than being told I should be more understanding. I sent numerous emails, went to the office even sent videos of the excessively loud noise that continues all day every day. Still no resolution, some of these attempts to communicate were left with no response at all. So if you enjoy avoiding your apartment for a little bit of peace and quiet because the company won't advocate for its tenants by all means this is the place for you!

My property manager abuses his power and is prejudice! Me and my family have caught him in our house TWICE now without notice. Called the number listed for corporate and left two voicemails no one returned my call but must have told him about because he called me I don't want to talk to him would like to talk to someone above him this is ridiculous I don't even feel safe in my own home

I have been into our leasing office here at Proximity several times since the new Management took over with various issues. Though it was annoying & I had trouble getting results. the first Month I was. somewhat understanding of an adjustment period. However each time I spoke with a NEW person, clueless of a unresolved, repeated complaint. I reminded them I understood. However, whatever the reason, I'm still paying the same rent & suffering the consequences.

The Clubhouse was a mess, there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms. I introduced myself politely addressed my concerns, such as lights being out around the property, trash being piled up, the fire pit not working & how we had.
