FINANCIAL DISCRIMINATION ALERT! Beware! I Came to rent a house that's lower than where we currently rent while my partner was at work. The First sketchy thing is you have to go in person to do paperwork. (A way to silently screen clients) Then the first agent quickly looks over my paperwork, takes it away and comes back and says we won't be approved.

I'm baffled and confused and ask to speak to a manger. Lori comes out and it continues to go sour! She throws around buzz words like fair housing and stuff that has nothing to do with the fact they are literally financially discriminating against DISABLED older people who live on a limited income and who have a partner who makes 6x the rent needed!

What was even more amusing was explaining I could prepay the rental Yearly rent! She didn't even blink or think outside the box of reasoning until I decide I had enough trying to explain who and what I am and I was now over even trying to rent the house. She finally says, Well I can ask the homeowner! Isn't that what you should've said In the first place when you have renters who can afford the monthly rent and even offered to prepay for an entire year? *********************************************** I hope other homeowners who work or consider working with this company read these reviews from prospective tenants because it's sad how someone on a power trip pretends as if these homes are theirs personally and quote Fair Housing to cover up for their discrimination. Lastly, a person overall financial character should be looked at thru various lenses from prior rental history (which they refuse to look at), credit history (we both have great credit) and do these people have savings or ability to prepay rent who might not make 3x from a job due to being disabled or retired and or being an entrepreneur!

I will report this to the NC Fair Housing since she choose to keep quoting a term that had Nothing to do with the real situation. First time ever in life I've ever had this happen and I promise when I become a landlord I will never treat prospective tenants like I was treated. Shame on them!

This business is a joke and an absolute scam! Don't expect to get your deposit back, they will make up stuff you didn't take care of and charge for stuff like not trimming the bushes in an apartment complex when they have yard service included or fleas when you had no pets. Don't expect them to fix anything or even clean the place before you move in.

I can't even believe that Lori even has a job still with the nasty attitude, lies and all these bad reviews. But if you do bypass all this advice at least take a full video of the place when you move in and out and document everything on the lease. They will not let you be present when they do the inspection, which in itself is shady! Good luck

1 star is not low enough for the rating this place deserves. We were told we could move in immediately but after handing over the deposit we were informed that we had to wait 10 more days for them to clean it. When we got the keys the place wasn't cleaned. It was filthy. We didn't have a choice because we done paid the deposit. We documented everything wrong and dirty in the place plus took videos.

We lived there 5 months before my husband could leave Jacksonville and they charged us for exactly what we told them was wrong on there inspection sheet. Worst place to rent from. I feel terrible for the home owners that use this place. DO NOT rent. Absolutely terrible place and people.

I was in Century 21 American Properties with my brother dealing with a work order that hes had opened for 7 months for a simple shower door replacement. While waiting in the conference room, the so called "workers" were making fun of people that can only afford 500$ a month for rent. Horrible place, highly recommend you go with someone else for your rental needs. Dealing with Lori for the maintenance request has been a nightmare!

My brother has been there 4 times to speak with her about the request, she refuses to come out and deal with any customer, she always sends someone else to handle the customer and then the worker she sends out just makes excuses on why Lori cant come out. We are always told that Lori is going to be leaving for the day even though its 1 PM. horrible horrible experience.

They are a scam. The lady Lori will rip you off and charge you for damages from previous renters! I put double deposit down which was $2,000 plus cost me $2,000 to move in and they trying to say i owe $4000 dollars moving out! I do owe the last rent payment with the courts but there's no way that home had $2,000 worth of damages and stuff! These people are nuts!

And they don't fix anything! Even there maintenance people say they don't listen to them to fix problems. Total scam and rip off! I lived there for a year and they are terrible! And don't care about anyone but themselves and if your a property owner id take your homes elsewhere where you don't lose value of your property that they don't fix!

After hurricane Florence the walls and carpet were growing mold. Since my wife is pregnant and I have asthma we can not live in the property. Yet, we have been expected to pay full rent and we're told we must keep the utilities turned on. It took 4 written reports, 2 emails, 3 reports in person, and countless phone calls to get any repair work done.

The drywall was replaced two days ago, no sign that insullation was changed tho and the carpet has been left untouched. When I called Lori about the carpets I was told they refused to replace the carpets they would have them cleaned instead. Expressing my concern for the mold and my family's health only led to her screaming at me to vacate if I felt unsafe and hanging up on me.

I am paying out of pocket to have a mold inspector come make a report on the property and revoke the certificate of occupancy. Don't trust these thieves, if there is any justice in the world their business will go under very soon.

After giving more than thirty days notice that I was vacating, they failed to CONTACT me with any warning and literally showed up to my house on MANY occasions trying to "show" the house. Keep in mind there was not a "for rent" sign out yet. The lease states they shall give at a minimum 1 hour notice prior to showing the house. They literally showed whenever they wanted and would walk right in.

They did this while a friend of mine was on the shower! They also tried to get personal information from people visiting me, while I was running errands. asking about my personal business, as to when I was moving out. One, they didn't verify if it was me and two, I already gave all the information they needed IN THE OFFICE when I gave my notice. I also had many problems with this company.

Another incident happened when my ac went out (I had a chihuahua inside the home). I called to get it fixed and they told me and I quote "unfortunately its not a priority since you're neither the elderly or the sick". It took over 4 days for them to fix it. Its always a hassle with them. They never keep their word. I called to speak with a manager and a lady said shed have someone call. Ive yet to receive any phone calls.

They're a terrible company! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. Not to mention when I moved in the carpets were filthy! They said they had someone come out and "clean" then but when I asked for proof of the cleaning they told me they didn't have to prove anything. Yet I have to have the fireplace inspected and the carpets cleaned upon vacancy. Just terrible.

If I could give this specific office a negative star rating, I would. They are by far the absolute worst company in this business. We've been renting through the company for a year now. Our lease was up in January and our lease then went month to month. I received a call from one of the girls at the office stating that the owners of the house had decided they were going to sell the property and that they needed to come to our home as soon as possible to take pictures of the home.

I was really upset over the fact that they were selling, but I understood. I made an appointment for the lady to come and take pictures. They whole time she was at our home she complimented us and thanked us for maintaining the property well. When she went to leave she informed me they would be putting a lock box on my house. I wasn't at all comfortable with that due to the fact that I have a small child and I work nights and sleep during the day.

She stated that it was going to be put on my house either way. Later that day I spoke with Lori the property manager and she stated that she was not going to put a lock box on the home. We put in our 30 day move out notice at that time. The next day we got a call from Century 21 asking us if they took the property off the market, would we wanted to sign another year lease.

Absolutely not. Especially after the bad attitudes and experience we had went through the day before with them. I then woke up today (about a week after everything previous had happened) to find a lock box on my door and a for rent sign in front of my house! I am beyond livid that they did exactly what Lori said wouldn't happen. I will be raising hell with them tomorrow when they open. This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with and I am so beyond done with all of their blatant lies and deceit.

This is by far the worse property management team EVER. We trusted the staff to look after our property while we were away. We rented out property out in the mean time. They allowed tenants to take our washer and dryer out of our home and use it in their own home until they got their own! The property management team at this location is more for the tenant than the actual home owner!

When we would inspect our home, the home was disgusting! They claimed that a cleaning crew came in but it was obvious that our home was not. They also allowed renters to install an alarm system in our home without prior approval. We had an alarm system already. The renters also drilled a hole from inside the home to the outside the house. You could see into our back yard!

When we came to take over our property, we had a weeds grown as high as the front porch! The back yard grass was waist high. We literally found all our renters ourselves. They did not find any. In fact we had several individuals contact them to view our home and they literally would start telling them about other homes! They are the most unprofessional people we have ever dealt with!

I would not EVER recommend for anyone to use them as property managers! Our Home looks nothing like it did when we left. We were lied to about our carpets being cleaned as well as the house. There was urine in our toilet when we moved, but yet they had it professionally cleaned! If I could rate them without leaving a star I would, they don't deserve half a star! Do yourself a favor and go with another property manager!
