Jay, Thomas, and the Aquila team were extraordinarily helpful for our young tutoring company as we took the step of leasing a commercial space. Thomas, in particular, was deeply thoughtful and kind as he navigated us through the process of locating the right space and negotiating a favorable contract. For 2 months, Max McDonald and his team at Aquila Commercial worked very hard helping us locate suitable office space. It was not easy as multiple landlords/property owners refused to lease to Foundation for the Homeless since our mission was focused on homeless families. We toured 15-20 spaces and Max and his team negotiated rigorously on our behalf. Today we signed a lease and it would not have happened without the determination and expertise of Aquila's Max and team. Thanks guys!

Aquila took over management of our former office building and we noticed an immediate change. No onsite property manager contact. Slow to respond to requests for maintenance. Bathrooms smell bad. Lobby decorations were removed. We had purchased some decorative lights for our reception area a few years prior and had them installed at our expense. We had an agreement with the prior property manager that upon moving those were our lights and we would take them with us.

We recently moved our office to a different building and we removed the lights and re-installed them in our new space. Prior to removing them we notified Aquila of our intent. We did not receive a response until after we had already removed and reinstalled the lights in our new space. Aquila told us we could either return the lights or forfeit our deposit.

Apparently they had promised our lights to a potential tenant interested in our old space. They were not interested in negotiating and kept our deposit. If we move again, we will NOT move to an Aquila managed property.

These guys come across as nice but unfortunately after showing us one rental agreement the costs a year later were 40% more than they told us. They also own the building, surprise, surprise. Just make sure you get your lawyer to look at any agreement you get from them before you sign it. Cost me an extra $50,000 a year for the next 4 years.
