Awesome company, representatives, Realators, brokers, and property managers. Great experience over the years and with properties I've rented through Red Door. Very responsive and professional. Highly recommend Rudra Seegobin for your property management and real estate needs. She is a gem and a real asset to the company. I will miss working with her as I am a homeowner now and plan on staying put. If that ever changes I know I can reach out to her in the future. 10/10

Property owners avoid this company at all costs. The tenants trashed my house, thousands of dollars of damages. They punched holes in the walls, extinguished cigarettes on the floor, threw raw garbage in the yard, carpets ruined by animals. That's just the beginning. A disaster. Red Door claims to vet tenants. Not true. For $25 and 10 minutes I discovered both tenants had lengthy criminal records. Nice job Red Door. This is a scam operation. They do nothing to protect owner interests. Don't go near them.

I had an extremely pleasant experience as a tenant with Red Door Company and Bennett Robinson. Red Door Company had clear and consistent lease terms, a very organized portal for both payments and maintenance requests, and all requests were responded to very promptly and adequately. I would recommend Red Door to anyone!

I do not recommend red door rental company. Customer service was curt and cold. Jade Rucker did not respond to our *repeated* questions pertinent to the application process in her emails. She did not acknowledge our questions and concerns. Red Door Company agents seem to be more concerned about the business than customer service. Honestly you could find better elsewhere. If this is how we are treated as possible renters, I cannot imagine how the renting experience would be from this company.

Recently made a real estate sale using RDC as my selling agent. Could not be happier with the result. My agent was knowledgeable, informative, and responsive, making my first-ever real estate sale a smooth and easy process. From the very beginning when I started working with them, they were transparent in regards to the process, and they demonstrated excellent planning as far as future steps towards achieving a favorable outcome at closing. Would highly recommend!

We rented a home through red door company for close to 3 years. Our overall experience for the first few years was pretty good and payments were easy. We took care of the home as if were our own, and can honestly say we left it in better condition than it was in when we arrived. Upon moving in, we noted on our checklist that there were multiple issues with the home such as: dirty carpet, holes in the wall from pictures, scuffs on the walls, lights that did not work, dryer vents that were venting into the home and not outside, and grout around the tub that was dirty and cracked.

None of these items were addressed upon our move in or repaired by the company. Upon moving out, we deep cleaned the home, changed the light bulbs and filters (and dated them!) and left it ready for the next tenant. Our leasing agent inspected the home the day after we moved out and checked everything off the move out list as "satisfactory." Upon the next tenants moving in, we lost over $600 from our security deposit for a broken garbage disposal (which was not broken when we left and checked by the agent after we moved out and listed as working order), as well as other "repairs" in the home (paint, cleaning, grout, light bulbs) that were ALL items that were broken or in poor condition upon our move in.

The leasing agent told us that because we had an early move out we basically forfeited that money. The lease does NOT state that we are to be charged for damage that was present prior to our move in (light bulbs, grout, and wall scuffs). While we understand some touch up would be needed for paint, carpet (although it was dirty when we moved in), the fact that this company charged us for items that we did not cause is frustrating.

We were also very disappointed that no one reached out to us about this and we had to find out through our portal and follow up multiple times with the agent regarding the charges. Our final interaction with red door company left an AWFUL taste in our mouth for the sheer immorality of the company to try to take advantage of someone who truly cared for a home as if it was their own. I will never recommend someone to this company and am awfully upset by the loss of money due to the shady business deals of red door company.

We had a long vacancy at one of our properties, and we were getting nervous about the length of time and the quality of the applicants. Red Door Company assigned an extremely professional agent who got right to work listing the property and showing it. The entire leasing process was painless and went very quickly, with careful attention to what we needed in terms of the lease ending date. We won't hesitate to do business with Red Door again.

The property manager I dealt with while trying to apply for one of their properties was an absolute nightmare. She was rude when I asked for clarification (keep in mind I am looking multiple properties from other companies so I sometimes need to get clarification). She told me about a separate pet form that needed to be completed, but did not inform it would cost another $35 in addition to the regular application fee. Vet records can be provided for free?

I know the market is crazy, so I guess they can afford to be rude and charge people fees for ridiculous things, but to me this just seems to be foreshadowing for what renting from them would be- an utter nightmare. No thanks!

I will start with stating finding a rental property in this market is very competitive and stressful. I was extremely eager to rent this property. Paul Inserra was very professional and prompt in responding to my inquiry. He has been such a pleasure to work with. There were a couple of minor issues noticed after moving in, but Paul handled everything very quickly and made sure everything was perfect.

The property is beautiful, well maintained, and the neighborhood is amazing. I am very pleased with Paul and Red Door Properties. I look forward to continuing to do business with them. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

The customer service and ease of use of the red door tenant portal made my rental experience with red door very efficient and enjoyable! Rent payment was easy to set up in the portal and same with requesting services. Once a service was requested the technician was alerted almost immediately and services often rendered same day! Thank you for an enjoyable home and rental experience!

Red Door Company was absolutely excellent! Red Door Company was the property manager for the duration of our renting a home that we later purchased. Based on our experience with the company, we hired the man we had worked with through Red Door and Paul Insurra became our realtor. I can't thank Paul enough. He was incredible. Paul was always Johnny on the spot, professional, flexible, highly knowledgeable and skilled, friendly, optimistic, and did much more than merely helping us seal the deal for our new home purchase.

As first home buyers, he walked us through every step of the way with extreme care and consideration. We looked at many houses, and Paul was always right there to guide and advise us and always did his homework, which led to our securing the original property we nearly gave up on through such tough negotiations. His advice was spot on 99.7% of the time, and he knew when and when not to act; even Paul's referrals were awesome.

He always gave us hope and motivated us even when things seemed bleak. He advised us on market trends, similar comps, neighborhoods, area growth and development, and much more and was ready to act when we were ready to pull the trigger. I can't give enough thanks to Red Door Company, especially Paul, who went above and beyond to land us the home we wanted. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I hope our paths cross again. Thanks again Paul!

We rented a home for a little over a year through Red Door-Tenant portal was easy to use for payments and submitting maintenance requests. After a year's time, we ended up being able to purchase our first home (the house we'd been renting) with the outstanding help of Paul! He went above and beyond for us, and truly made us feel as though we were top priority. Paul worked tirelessly to meet all our expectations, and was there for us throughout the entire process. Thank you Red Door, and especially Paul, for all you have done!

Save the owner and the tenants headaches and go with another company. We had a rental property under the management of Red Door for about 6 years. The first four years, everything ran smoothly, with a very dedicated broker, Susan Halveston. When she left everything deteriorated, specially when the property started to be managed by Rudra Seegobin. The last turnover has been a complete nightmare for both parts, us and the tenants.

New maintenance company (Stephen at Punch out Time) is a disaster too. Nothing was done during the turnover and worked was not supervised by Rudra or Greg DeWitt (a Red Door co-owner). The 3 amigos kept receiving $$ when nothing was done. The property was turn to the new tenants with holes in the walls, dirty faucets and showers, no bulbs, broken window screens. Move-out and move-in forms were not filled.

Only work done by Rudra was to forward us emails by the tenants, without taking any action. She also gave our contact info to the tenants, forwarded to the tenants a confidential email between Greg and us, and disclose information without authorization. Based on the other reviews during the last 2 years, we have not been the only ones with this experience

I'm not happy with my experience with Red Door. I attempted to contact an agent about a property a few times and that agent never returned my inquiry. I understand COVID-19 has slowed some things down but not responding at all is very unprofessional.

Paul Inserra is one of the main reasons why our rental property is doing so well. Whenever there are issues, he handles them quickly and without delay. My husband and I are 6 states away and Paul has found two great tenants for us and we haven't had any issues thus far. Paul has taken the potential headache of owning rental property and made it a very peaceful experience.

Paul manages three properties we have and he is a delight to work with. Very thorough and focused on detail. We've developed a great working relationship!

We've used Red Door as our rental agent for three years for a house in Chapel Hill, NC. I can't say I'd recommend them. Many times they'd keep calling us with little things that they should take care of (like renter says garage door not working; so I'd expect them to check on it first and make sure they're operating it properly, then call us!). Finally, when the lease was up and we're selling the house, they never bothered to tell us or ask us to change the utilities to our names and the power was cut off. The movers had to buy headlamps to work in the attic! Most disappointing.

I was not happy with my my agent Paul when I was selling my property in Durham earlier this year. He supposed to represent me but I worked more for the buyers. He first told me some small fixes that would cost a few hundred to a thousand, but then they ended up to be $15k or so. He provided NO help in the negotiation. He just passed everything to me to read and figure things out and could not even keep up with what was going on.

Then he would treat me like I was a dummy. The attorney was 100 times more helpful and was much nicer. I am so glad it was over and didn't have to deal with the agent Paul any more. Btw, he had also managed my property many years prior to the sell and I was not happy with his service either.

Red Door Company is a piece of shit. I rented a house from them for a year. Turns out I was added to an existing lease that had been renewed for the past five years (by different roommates). The house was not assessed between tenants and when I moved in it was disgustingly filthy. They took significant amounts of money out of our deposit, never sent us a receipt for the money withheld and often ignored our emails. I was also charged for damages to the house that I had no part in causing. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM IF POSSIBLE!

We received our rental home yesterday and were extremely disappointed with the conditions the home was turned into us. The previous tenants had pets so it smelled like a dog pound. The property had not been cleaned at all. We found dog hairs in the dryer, carpet, cobwebs throughout the house. Minimal to no services were done to prepare the house for us.

If you're a landlord looking for a property management company this is not the right place for you if you want to please your tenants and keep your property in pristine conditions. If you're a tenant looking for a property think twice before renting from Reddoor Company. Hope this helps others avoid the headaches we are having to deal with.

Paul Inserra at the Red Door Company was our property manager for a rental that we lived in for 5 1/2 years in Apex. He was always quick to respond and react when needed. As a liaison between the homeowner and my wife and me, Paul kept us updated and was quick to act when necessary. For property management, I would definitely recommend Paul to anyone in need of a property to rent or if you have a rental that needs a superior management company.

I hired Red Door Company in 2010 to manage my rental house. The house already had a tenant, yet RDC charged me a substantial fee (at least $175) to take on the property. Over the course of the rest of our business, multiple times they would pay sub-contractors without checking the work. which was not complete or done poorly. I had them hire someone to do tile work in the bathroom.

Rather than pulling down the tile and putting up new hardie board and then tiling, they just tiled over the existing tile, and the cost was much higher than it should have been for doing this work the right way. The final straw was renting to a very bad tenant who did a lot of damage to the house and stopped paying rent when we told him we weren't renewing his lease.

My wife and I rented from a private owner for years. Recently the property in Carrboro, NC was purchased by a new owner who then hired Red Door. All units in the property have a Washer and Dryer, It was agreed that ours was going to get one too. When we discussed that they would add the units we re-signed our lease almost a year ago. Bennett Robinson a representative of Red Door who manages the property either plays dumb or is just a liar.

We have watched half our neighbors break their leases (this year) and since we lived at the location for over 6 years (only 1 year with red door) turnover has never been higher. If you are a property owner as we will be soon I would never recommend Red Door.

We rented with Red Door for 3 years before buying a home. I second what another Yelper said about repairs. Every time I submitted a ticket we were told the owner didn't want to make the repair. Pretty ironic this happened with 2 of there rentals. Makes me think this is probably why landlords like them so much it's because the property management company just doesn't do anything.

There are simply no protections for renters with this company. For example we had black mold growing in the house. We sent photos and contacted Red Door and the landlord would come over repaint over the mold and that was it. We were also told the landlord was a contractor so he can do his own repairs. Here we find out his was a AC repair helper! Renter be ware.

We used Red Door for our current rental in Apex North Carolina. We have been dealing with Property Manager Paul Inserra. Paul is an absolute pleasure to work with. He answers my emails and phone calls promptly and addresses the issues right away. His customer service skills are excellent and he understands our concerns being this is our first rental and we relocated from NYC.

If you are dealing with Red Door Company, ask for Paul. He has made our transition so much easier and that means a lot for a family who has lived in NYC for over 40 years. Thank you Paul for everything! Joe Gambella Apex North Carolina

Red door company is the worst of the worst. I ended up having the city out to inspect the house. Then they send a jack leg repairman, after which my shower wall fell off. Fell the F off while I was showering. Ever had broken porcelain in and on you body. It makes for a great morning. And the bugs omg. They tell you in the lease you're responsible for pest control, but what they don't tell you is that the house is completely infested. Worst people on the planet.

The reason they do things online is so they don't have to show any shame. They run their buisness from a Regency office, so there is never anyone there. When they do show up to a complaint, they bring a lawyer. Real scumbags theses people.

For any investment property owner in the Triangle Red Door's services are unmatched! Susan Halverson is my property manager and has done a fabulous job through multiple tenants (and two pretty difficult situations). Her promptness and responsiveness is among the best of those I've worked with in real estate. As a company, Red Door's technological efforts go above and beyond the rest of the industry, and I have had a very good experience overall. I've happily continued benefit from my rental property ownership stress and hassle free while living on the other side of the country thanks to Red Door's help!

Used Red Door to rent house out for several years. 1. The lease clearly stated renter to not have pets, they did. this proves Red Door doesn't do inspections 2. House smelled horrible; mostly due to pets, again proof no inspections. 3. Service is bad; that guy everyone mentions in other reviews retired and the excuse the current agent used "this is how it was when I started with it". not professional at all. 4.they claim all normal use even though they didn't uphold their lease. the document that they wrote 5. these "inspections" agent says "we do not document those"; so nothing to even prove they did them. clearly they didn't Basically what you are going to get for the "management" of the property is someone to answer to the phone and respond to the renters and then tell you how much it is to fix whatever broke; which is what should happen, what you are not getting is anything pro-active (inspections etc) as they claim they do to make sure the renters follow the lease agreements.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I hope only that I can spare you from getting burned if you're considering leasing from this company. Nearly a year ago now, I had a similar leasing experience as Kenan's here. Like Laura, I was working with Bennett Robinson in trying to rent a property. At first, Bennett was helpful and easy to work with. Things seemed to be going smoothly with the apartment I was considering -- until I paid the $40 application fee.

After that, all communications were dropped. I followed up several times as patiently and politely as I could, but my emails and voicemails were simply ignored. I never found out what became of my application or what happened to my money. It was bewildering, considering how helpful and friendly Bennett had been up until I paid the application fee.

When I saw other recent reviews saying similar things, I decided to add my voice so potential clients can make an informed decision before working with this company. I understand which side of the table I'm on as a prospective tenant, but the lack of courtesy from these real estate professionals, evident time and again from the other reviews here, is disappointing. If you have other options, I recommend you exercise those first.
