I have rented through RPM for the last 6 years on 2 different properties and 2 different apartments in the same building. They helped me significantly when I had no where else to go after my ex wife left me 2 weeks into a brand new lease that I couldn't afford on my own. They gave me a rate for a smaller apartment downstairs that I was able to afford on my own eliminating the risk of being on the street and made it easily transferable. Everyone in the office is nice and easy to talk to.

Three years renting from them we have had no issues or complaints. The house wasn't spectacularly clean on arrival. They also did not patch the erosion at the end of the driveway like we told them. Knowing it would further cost the owners more money the longer it sat. We ended up buying the asphalt and putting it down to help with the ease of use.

They did however put in a new hot water heater and fixed the furnace very promptly, the same day within a matter of hours. They've always been in great contact and everyone has been friendly to talk to. Maryanne and the other ladies in the office have been efficient on rent receipts to my email. The house was inspected by the city of Lansing while we lived here and everything's up to code. Their properties are inspected I think every three years I think Kip said. They have a large assortment of properties managed by them. I would recommend RPM.

This is the absolute worst property management company in the lansing area. Their houses are filled with mold, with a complete refusal to do anything about it. We had leaking windows, leaking roof, mold problems, and so much more. They say they provide snow removal, but they never plow 90% of the time. Almost every snow storm we had to shovel a huge driveway just to get out.

When they do plow, they don't show up until the night, after you already had to shovel yourself and your neighbors out that morning. We were left without running water or hot water many times because of their lack of maintenance. We were left with out a running toilet for days because they couldn't figure out the problem. Kip is an absolute slum lord and is a misogynistic creep. Save yourself the problems and stress, do go through this company.

My Experience with this company has been good There easy for me to get in Contact with. Via phone Or Email or Even when I stop by in Person Very helpful Understanding staff. I've been leasing two going on three years this Jan. Any Maintenance issues. They've always gotten right back with me. Which matters a great deal to me along with being able to contact when needed.

They've offered help & sent resources to help there tenants as well during this covid time. Not to mention my home when I moved in was In very Clean & In good Condition Even decorated a little lbvs. Thanks Renaissance property Management. For keeping for properties up To date & Listening to your Renters Needs. You make my life Easier. 2020

Overall not too bad of an experience with them. A few snags with maintenance issues over the years but nothing long term things got resolved quickly. I would recommend them to friends seeking rental housing.

Been living in one of their rentals for a year, maintenance always responds within a week, no problem seems too small for them, they've come fixed everything we asked about. The ladies at the office we're very accommodating and Kip was very helpful and honest when showing me around the properties. Gonna renew my lease soon and I don't think I'll regret it.

UPDATE: After speaking with collections they sent the bill to an address that doesn't exist. They intentionally went out of their way to mess my credit up. This should seriously be criminal but is definitely unethical. I am extremely happy I moved out and will have no more ties to them. I mean their reviews say it all 2 stars and most of the positive ratings are regarding a member their staff at the time of renting.

Once they rent you the house, they stop caring. Do not count on their lawn and snow removal either. They do it when they feel like rather than when things need to be done. This was the absolute worst decision i have made in housing. Kip is a very dishonest person, and did not follow the agreed upon terms for the lease. Snow removal was supposed to be part of the lease and there were many times i couldn't get out of my driveway for days at a time.

They also were supposed to fix a list of things before moving in that were not done by move in. I was then charged for the repairs after i pointed out the issues that were supposed to have been fixed. Upon leaving they never sent me a bill, but sent the account straight to collections. I would absolutely never recommend this buisness. After speaking with collections they sent the bill to an address that doesn't exist. They intentionally went out of their way to mess up my credit.

AVOID AT ALL COST. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. If I could give them zero stars I would. Kip is an absolute slump lord. Within weeks of moving in our basement continuously flooded. We also had our fridge die and after numerous calls it was finally fixed. Then the biggest kicker was the fire. The fire marshal declared that the fire outside of our rental was not our fault he sued us!

We had renters insurance, but that only covers possessions. They didn't have insurance on the home. THAT IS ILLEGAL. This company will do anything to swindle you out of your money. They threaten to sue and are horribly rude. Keep all proof of payments, called, and any emails. They will try and Sue you for whatever they can get.

Don't rent from these people! We didn't listen to all the bad reviews and we regret it big time! They scheduled an appointment for an inspection and THEY were 30 min. late. By the time they showed up my fiance was going to work and told them to reschedule. They are charging us $700 for "missing" that appointment! We paid rent this month, on time like we do every month, but they're saying we still owe them rent money because of the $700 fee.

These people are awful. Save yourself some problems and don't rent from them. Also highly recommend looking at Michael Mathews' review. Former employee, Michael approved us when we moved in last year, and has some words about the owner Kip. Trust the bad reviews!

Just wanted to write a quick summary of our touring experience. We met Michael Matthews and followed him through numerous properties. He was extremely knowledgeable, honest, blunt and straight to the point (everything you want in a leasing agent). We could not have had a better experience with him and he was by far the best leasing agent we have encountered from any management company to date.

I have owned a property managed by RPM for over 12 years. Kip and Cindy have always been exceptionally helpful, reliable and responsible. When maintenance issues have come up, they've communicated all aspects of the issue in a timely fashion and have worked to get the maintenance problem resolved. Accordingly, when there's been a tenant issue, they've also communicated in a complete and timely fashion so all issues could be resolved to both the tenants and my satisfaction.

I had recently decided to sell my property and again, Kip worked with me throughout the entire process, working closely with my realtor, to make the selling of my house be a success. Kip facilitated the showings with the tenant and realtors, the inspections and repairs needed so I was able to sell my property in a short period of time. As a property owner, I highly recommend Kip and his team at RPM.

Oh, where to start. First off, the building is just a bit higher quality than a run-down shack you'd expect to see in a low income area. I passed it 2 or 3 times before I fully believed that this is where they were truly located. After going through the application process with a friendly employee alongside a couple of their house cats, we were assured that all that was left was to run the all of the applications and we would be set to move in in August.

With just a couple weeks left in July, we were informed that the house we applied for is no longer available for rent. We were then forced to quickly find a last minute apartment since most properties have already been taken for the upcoming semester. This is the last time I disregard Google reviews. I should have known that trusting this company was a silly idea after I saw their poor ratings. Bottom line, I would not recommend this company.

We did not have a good experience. Maintenance requests (when they were responded to) meant a mess left behind every. single. time. When the air conditioner upstairs leaked through our ceiling, all they did was spray paint over the stain- never checked for mold. They also had high turnover in the office, and I believe they are grossly understaffed.

Once when we had sewage backing up through a basement drain, we had to wait almost 24 hours before they would send someone to fix it. After 4 years, we were told our renewal was "in the mail" but after weeks of waiting for it to arrive, we found out the house had been sold and we would have to move because we hadn't renewed our lease. They offered no explanation for why the renewal was never sent to us as promised, nor did they apologize.

The few available properties under their management we saw while searching for a new place were nothing less than disgusting, and the agent was 45 minutes late to one of those showings. When I contrast the years we lived there with the wonderful experience we've had in our new place, it seems even more incredible that a company that treats its clients that way is in business at all. We will never work with them again.

The overall year long experience we had was disheartening. We moved into a 1 bedroom house with the impression that the house could "legally" be a 2 bedroom with a quick electrical fix and an inspection. Kip, the owner of the company, gave me his word he would schedule this upon us moving in. He lied. He lied to my VERY pregnant face about it being able to be a 2 bedroom.

The ceilings in the upstairs didn't offer enough actual clearance to be a bedroom. (He knew this all along, the inspector in lansing is very familiar with Kip) This was discovered by the inspector when I called after 6 months of repairs went to the wayside. The numerous calls were ignored. The emails were ignored. So the inspector was called by me. 8 VIOLATIONS that were there when we moved in! 8!

They had bees in the roof we called and called about.it took them a week to send someone to eradicate them. I am now dealing with a refusal to schedule a walk-through to end this nightmare with this company. I have had to call 3 times, only to be told they don't schedule with anyone but the owner, Kip. Who has not returned my calls. I also know the company is still dealing with the long list of repairs that were not completed in the 6 remaining months we spent there.

I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a house. This company is NOT looking out for the best interests of the tenant. We are proof! My daughter had breathing problems and chronic upper respiratory infections from the mold. Since we've moved to a new house she has been breathing well. Don't put yourself or your family at risk. Rent elsewhere!
