The principals of Rodemyer-Christel, Inc., David Belsky and Jill Belsky, play a major role in the management of each property. We feel the success of Rodemyer-Christel, Inc. is largely attributed to the close involvement of David and Jill in the management of the properties entrusted to us. David and Jill have Rodemyer's management portfolio divided among them and oversee the property management staff handling these properties. This system has enabled the principals of Rodemyer-Christel, Inc. to stay very involved in each of the properties managed.
Services
Administration of personnel to included hiring, firing, supervision, and payroll tax reporting, if desired by client. Delinquency notices are sent out monthly. Property managers personally call delinquent renters when feasible. After a delinquency of two months rent, tenants' accounts will be referred to an attorney for an appropriate lawsuit (unlawful detainer, rent and possession, etc.)
It is important to delineate the dynamics of the relationship between a Homeowners Association and its Management Company. The Management Company, Rodemyer-Christel, Inc. (RCI), works directly for and reports to the Association's elected board of Directors. Our function is not one of a decision maker but one of a decision implementer.
The building was boarded up and had been vacant for more than five years. All electric, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems had been removed. Fireplaces and beautiful original woodwork had been covered over with painted plywood. Plaster walls and ceilings had collapsed. Stone retaining walls around the building had been reduced to rubble and trees and weeds had overtaken the lot. One of the previous owners had changed the original entranceway of the building, covering up brick arches and marble stairs.

Adam was great. I was approved same day. Any questions I had he was on top of it. Moving in was smooth and the concerns I had he got back with in a timely manner. Adam is very professional and would recommend to friends and family.

It was a pleasure working with Laurie on several projects. She's very responsive and very professional. She's a good person to have on your side as a contractor. I would recommend her to anyone in the future.

I recently had my wood floors refinished in my unit. Laurie helped me find a floor refinisher. I have worked with Laurie at RCI for a few years. She has been very reliable. She is terrific! She always returns my phone calls, texts or email correspondence. I have had good experiences with her. She follows through with whatever I need to speak with her about or with whatever she can do to assist with a matter. Thanks, Laurie!

We have been in our apartment for 3 years. We are in our 4th term. We have not had one good year with this company or managers provided in our building. The only reason we have not left this property is because we dealt with so much here we have not had time to move. We are currently dealing with managers who will not meet with us, will not give us a option of a month to month lease, and as last week trying to force us to sign documents that both parties agreed are incorrect documents. not to mention giving us a hard time about our kids in the building hover boarding or traveling outside with a toy truck. the moment corona virus ended they've been on our heads daily.

Not to mention we don't owe a dime. The lady has stalked me on camera and my family to show pictures of them but cannot produce anything when all there renters cars are getting broken in to in the same day. They will tell you file a report then go ask the company next door for footage. Basically let them tell it there only job is "to collect rent ". - Leasing agent Debbie Jackson I would not recommend these people. Maybe they treat people in other buildings better.

RCI has managed our 18 unit condo building as long as I've lived there (9+ years). Laurie has been our manager for just over 5 years. We have, of course, had a few issues here and there since the board is small and voluntary and the building is old, but Laurie is responsive and positive in her interactions and communication. If something falls through the cracks, we find it and figure it out.

She has helped our community put through improvements large and small. It's a tough job and it's been nice to have a proactive and realistic person helping us get things done.

Rodemyer-Christel took over the management of my condo building after years of self-management that ended in disaster. They have done a lot to correct deferred maintenance issues that included tuck pointing and roof issues. About a year ago Laurie Hasty became our property manager. She has done an outstanding job. She often visits the building and knows what's going on there and is very responsive to emails and phone calls. She is very friendly and is diligent about doing a great job. She is also a great addition to the RCI organization. I highly recommend both without reservation!

I live in garment row loft, 1312 Washington Ave., which is managed by this company. Someone broke out the window in the lobby door before Christmas. Here we are in mid-March, and there still a piece of plywood on it. This is par for the course. This company is completely unresponsive to tenants. Repeated complains have done nothing, so here I am just hoping someone notices this and does something about it.

This review is mostly in reference to Property Manager Laurie, who does a great job getting bids for all of our work, both planned and aspirational, and making sure to leverage her resources to make things work for us. Especially recently during a financially difficult time for our community, she helped overhaul our budget, update our schedule of repairs, and negotiate with workers to get the job done efficiently.

She also routinely brings new ideas to the table for how we can manage our home community best. I'm on the board of directors for my HOA and I don't know how we could do it without her help!

I've had the privilege of working with Laurie Hasty and Rodemyer-Chistel on several of the properties that she manages. My company has been contracted to to do several jobs by them for their clients. Laurie is a pleasure to work with. Her communication and ease to work with on projects is second to none and I work with many property managers for our company.

Communication is crucial when dealing with these properties and getting projects completed in a timely manner and I never have to worry about that when dealing with Laurie. I would highly recommend doing business with Rodemyer-Christel and Laurie Hasty without hesitation.

Worst apartment management company in all of STL. Avoid like THE PLAGUE. If your idea of them addressing 34 year old shag carpet deterioration is to have them send maintenance gurus in without notice to tear up carpet UNDER YOUR BED to rig that carpet piece into a MORE OLD & WORN area of your carpet then by all means - rent from these jokers. It is truly sad because Carl Breihan knew how to professionally run all of his properties for decades in STL but he retired (as is his right) and left his properties in the hands of these ridiculous people.

If renting in South St. Louis County first ensure Rodemeyer Christel has no part in that apartment complex or you will regret ever crossing paths with these arrogant & unprofessional losers. Also, if you don't mind your faucets being installed BACKWARDS (so scalding water comes out of the cold side) these are the folks for you. Also, they cannot process early rent payments, lose your early, timely rent payment and then send you notice that you never paid your rent when, in fact, they cashed that check months prior. Also, if you love paying $100 extra for the privilege of a patio but have one flooded and underwater - don't expect them to fix it, repair it properly or even care.

Oh and if they do have to do maintenance in your apartment they will show up with 5 minutes notice and leave your home in ruins just to "show you" for being a complainer! Also, they actively harass disabled tenants. #AVOID

Rodemeyer- Christal is a great management company to work with. Our association loves working with Sharon Fuller. We've had a couple emergency's at our building and Sharon made sure all details were handled in a timely manner. I cannot say enough kind words regarding her urgency, knowledge and kindness. I would recommend them to any property that needs a great management company in the St. Louis area.

This is the worse HOA I have ever dealt with, and I've had 3 so far. I recently moved to St. Louis and this was not the welcoming committee I was hoping to receive. I have never had a pleasant interaction with my HOA manager, and ever reported her to her bosses whom were not very helpful. They are by far the most rude and unprofessional organization I have ever dealt with, and I hate that I purchased a home that they are over.

If I knew that before coming in, I may have reconsidered buying here. I hope in the future they are replaced with another company. They are over many properties in the area, one of which I have a friend that lives in. Her manager is different from mine, and she does not enjoy them in her building either.

I would like to commend Rodemyer-Christel for excellence in service in Property Management to my condo association. Every call I have placed has been returned in an expedient manner, situations resolved and a follow-up call received to notify me the matter were taken care of.

I wish I could give this organization 0 stars. This is the WORST organization I have ever had to deal with. In my opinion, they are completely unprofessional and will have absolutely NO sympathy if you or your family are in a difficult financial situation or have health problems. This organization and the condo association is holding me (and other condo owners) financially responsible for the expense of removing mold that occurred in another person's condominium who had no insurance and filed for bankruptcy and adding legal fees and late fees on top of that. If you voice your opinion, you are labeled a troublemaker. If you are looking for a home, PLEASE save yourself the grief and trouble. This company holds several properties.

Lived in a apartment managed by this group while working at Barnes Jewish hospital and later SLCH for 5 years. Manager was Christine Rivera. They were responsive and maintenance was always quickly done. Responds really well to emails and Christine was always helpful. Enjoyed my stay here with no complaints. I highly recommend this place to fellow physicians, nurses, and students.

While the property manager from Rodemeyer-Christel was nice and fairly responsive, I can't in good conscience say that the property owners they work with have integrity or a concern for the well-being and safety of tenants. I lived in 7556 Byron Place. While this building seems like a good value for the area, you definitely get what you pay for. I'm not sure if the issues I faced were more due to Rodemeyer-Christel or to the building's owner, but, regardless, I thought I'd share my experience.

Some of the more "minor" issues I dealt with were: - several sightings of large cockroaches crawling across the floor - a $25 fee because Pam from Rodemeyer-Christel did not process my auto-draft rent payment on time. - faulty electric/circuits (not up to code) - plumbing issues. The toilet would not stop flushing. - unscheduled drop-ins. One time, I came home and opened my bedroom door to find two men standing there. - bats in the basement - ceiling leaks (this happened several times where there would be large (3-4 feet diameter) water stains on the ceilings of both bedrooms.

They would just come in and paint over them but not fix the root of the problem. But the "final nail in the coffin" for me was when I came home one day to find the ceiling of my bedroom caved in (where one of the leaks had been painted over). Not only did this expose a ceiling full of black mold, plaster and water covered my bedding and furniture causing hundreds of dollars worth of damage.

There were leaks in all exterior walls of the apartment and the ceiling of one of the closets had caved in as well. The owner, Edward Boeschenstein of Ladue, refused to pay for any of the damages, a place for me to stay while the apartment was unlivable and any moving costs. They did let me out of my lease so I'll give them that.

Don't ever be late with a payment - $25 late fee! I had been paying my condo fees two months at a time, so they had one month on time and one month WAY in advance. You would think this was a win for them! When they charged me a late fee, I asked that it be waived because they always had that second month so early.they would not waive the fee. So now they get each month on time and don't have that second month early - kind of stupid on their part!

Rodemeyer Christel took over management of our building a year ago and we are very satisfied. The two people assigned to our building have been responsive. We had Smith Management before and they totally did nothing to earn their money. Our building is a high rise in downtown with 102 units.

I have had numerous bad experiences with this company as property manager of the condo in which I live. Our complex's property manager is extremely difficult and frustrating to deal with. She is unapologetic when it's clear the she and the company have made a mistake and is at times confrontational. On more than one occasion, I have made appointments when her to have service people come to perform various tasks and have been "stood up".

This is even after I went out of my way to reschedule my busy day and work from home. Then, on another occasion, they sent out a service man to look at apparent water damage in a neighbor's unit. It was suspected the damage was caused by my condo. After only 15 minutes in my unit, and about 20 in my neighbor's unit, the dispatched worked did not definitively conclude it was my fault.

A few weeks later, I received a bill for $175 for this service call. Since this seemed an astronomical amount for a 30 minute visit and they guy really didn't do anything besides look at the two units, I demanded more detailed information than the one-line invoice Rodemyer-Christel provided me, they said they couldn't provide it. I still ended up paying $100 for this service call, and it was never definitively proven that my unit was at fault. This company is a nightmare to deal with. Avoid them at all costs!

Took them TWO days to get back to me. I've lived in three other apartment complexes before moving to St Louis. And this by far has to be the longest any property manager has taken to give a call back. Oh best part, they didn't resolve my issue. They told me to just "deal with it, and adapt to the situation". Don't rent with them, they have no concern for their tenants or customers.
