Moved in to an SC Properties property about a month ago, Jamil as gone above and beyond since the beginning of the application process. He was very clear with all processes of and made move in smooth and easy! He made sure to address all matters on the move in and take care of a few things I requested (a light outside and a fan in the bathroom) Looking forward to living at this property for a while if not another SC Properties unit! Wouldn't want any other PM!

Paulette(our landlord from SC Property Management), is never in her office during her "office hours." You can check multiple times a day and she won't be there. One time I checked around 2 PM(during her office hours) and because she wasn't there, a stack of packages were left right outside her door, free for any porch pirates to steal. Furthermore, she has caused impacted parking issues, causing us to park on the streets over night. I've seen multiple smashed windows right outside our complex, so not ideal! Is asking someone to simply work during there office hours asking too much?

SC Properties has been managing the building I live in for about 3 years. The owner of the building bought it about 5-6 years ago. The "property manager" they retained did absolutely nothing to improve the building and was totally non responsive. When SC came on board, Bob Guglielmi introduced himself and said he looked forward to showing me how things would be better under him.

Fast forward to now and I'd like to give him public recognition for keeping his word. Between him and Andrew Guglielmi, the building has seen improvements that I am sure haven't been done in decades. The building is standard SF old; probably around 1910 or so. Despite a very responsible owner previously, it had gone into disrepair and overall it was in bad shape. Bob has spearheaded major improvements including top to bottom painting inside and out, water damage repair, new carpet, gut renovation of units that became vacant to make them into modern and very nice apartments, and more.

We have been in our unit for a very long time unfortunately and fortunately, so it was in very dire need of some improvements. The kitchen was straight out of 1940, no exaggeration. The decrepit counter was peeled off, the pipes under the "sink" leaked incessantly, the bathroom tub tile had mold and cracking and peeling that I tried to repair myself at times but proved too massively damaged and ancient to fix.

I escalated the issues to Bob recently and he immediately agreed to make improvements. He came up and met with me and his best contractor, we devised a game plan and then while I went out of town for 2 weeks for the holidays, they actually, unbelievably to me still, managed to more or less completely re do the kitchen and the bathroom. Somehow, they removed all of the ancient "tiling" in the shower / tub, even installed a normal smaller bathroom window with a screen (never take for granted screens for those of you that have them which is just about everybody not living in one of these old buildings), new shower fixtures, and in the kitchen a custom made cabinet and sink.

I forgot to mention, the flooring in the kitchen was so old that it couldn't even be mopped. It's one thing to do such major renovations and improvements to a unit; you'd expect this only when someone moves out. To accommodate us and do all that in 2 weeks just to make sure we are happy in today's world seems unheard of. This is how things USED to be, but now?

I didn't think I'd ever see it, to be honest. Bob proved me wrong. A final note: as extremely busy professionals I do think tenants need to take repair requests with a grain of salt. Unless it's truly an emergency they may delay in getting back to you. Their online portal repair request system works well and helps them track the many repair requests that they may get hit with.

There have been times of miscommunication about some requests I made which did get kinda frustrating but I have better success using the portal and knowing from my own experience how impossible it is trying to manage endless requests for help at work over e mail some kind of tracking system is a must. This is a loooooooong review, yes, but I have been so jazzed about my new kitchen and bath that I felt it deserved it. Thank you Bob and Andrew for the excellent service.

Every place on their list I checked out was great quality. Jamil was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process of viewing the places, applications and moving in. Additionally they have a portal that helps you do everything you need, from signing your lease, paying your rent, even requesting maintenance! I love that level of organization.

I lived in a building managed by SC properties for about 2 years, and had a great experience in my time there! Andrew Guglielmi was my property manager and I couldn't say enough good things about him. The turn around time from applying to signing my lease was about 5 hours (maybe less) and Andrew was keeping me updated the entire time. Throughout my time I had a few maintenance requests and they were always handled timely and the team was easy to work with. Would highly recommend SC properties :)

I lived in a building managed by SC properties for almost 2 years, and had a fantastic experience while I was there! Andrew Guglielmi was my property manager and he was always incredibly helpful at every turn. The handy man of the building was Jay, who was always ready to help and solved any issues that came up, like changing a lightbulb, etc. Overall I am sad to leave such a well ran apartment complex! If you are looking to move into a property managed by SC Properties, you will not be disappointed!

Our building is now 1/3 empty and the remaining tenants all want to leave. The property manager, Dan Mulready is extremely corrupt, unprofessional, and abusive to tenants. He doesn't care about tenant rights, upholding the law, or the ethical and professional standards of his license. He has been reported to the city after decades of mistreating tenants to the detriment of their health, safety, and the financial consequences of his actions.

He has created a huge liability by committing these violations for the owners at every property he "manages." Dan refuses to fix anything and yet gouges tenants for top rent. Even when very necessary repairs that create health hazards and damages to the tenant, he still refuses to fix them. This goes on for years and he will threaten tenants to scare them saying he'll have them evicted.

He doesn't return deposits even after his horrible actions and needs to be stopped. Every tenant who has to deal with him hates the interaction and ends up moving citing him as the reason. Protect yourself as a tenant and stay away from SC Properties! Especially if you have Dan Mulready as a property manager. Save yourself the stress and damage to your health and safety.

The absolute WORST! I've had to wait to write this review since 2018, as finally SC Properties is NOT managing the building, for fear of retaliation and negative repercussions. Namely Dan Mulready, who is listed as the property manager. HA! And for the management team covering for his unprofessional and incompetent behavior. The only person at SC Properties who was professional was the maintenance technician, Jason.

On time, professional, friendly, competent and kind. Too bad he's not running things. Our building received notice in Sep 2018 that SC Properties was taking over the property management from it being family managed by one of the siblings. And I've resided here since 2015. And loving where I lived plus the landlord. All of this was about to change.

Right out of the gate, Dan showed his unprofessionalism to not introduce himself to the tenants and showed his rude aggressive hostile communication tactics from the very beginning. So much so that the longest residing tenant who moved in before me VACATED and left, after having so many terrible dealings with Dan. This was not good news for the tenants left.

In Oct 2018, there was an incessant ringing of my doorbell as I was working from home and on a call. Putting my call on mute, I opened my front door and looked outside downstairs as there was a guy with glasses asking me to move my car from the driveway. I asked him who he was. Response: "Dan, the property manager." I stated that I was currently on a conference call and would be done in 30 minutes then I could move my car. Dan was not happy with my response and kept yammering at me to move my car, now, and that I was not legally permitted to park in the space.

I was now irritated to be dealing with him and not working. I responded that I did not receive a 24 hour legal notice for this request, repeated my timeline, then went inside my apartment and shut the door. Five minutes later, I see a call coming through on my mobile with UNKNOWN NUMBER, mind you, I'm still on the call. I ignore it. This caller keeps ringing me. Nonstop. Finally, off the call and I pick up the unknown call. It's Dan. Are you kidding me? Well, needless to say it got worse before resolving itself as Dan left me hostile messages on my car and via email.

You can see the lack of professionalism yourself as I'm sharing them with you his hostile and dismissive communication style. Where the total lack of competency comes into play is when I notified him of broken appliances or lights in the building. Each repair took an unreasonably long time to fix. Finally I started using the tenant/maintenance portal on the SC Properties website to document each request.

It was only then that somebody else at the company started to respond to the requests in a timely manner. It took Dan and SC Properties THREE months to fix the inoperable door lobber buzzer and doorbell system. They are the absolute WORST. In October 2020, I made an attempt to try and get some relief from Dan and his unprofessional attitude, to escalate a complaint about his aggressive behavior with SC Properties leadership. To date. ZERO response.

Horrible. Slumlords by any measure. Refused to fix anything the entire (and thankfully) short time they managed the small building I live in. Luckily, our building was sold and the new owners are fixing stuff. If you're looking to rent an apartment, make sure this company isn't the management. They replied to my review on Google saying there was no such maintenance requests in their system, well, that's because they deleted them all about 2 months prior to selling the building. Had a front entry light and doorbell out for over a year. Entrance was pitch black at night. Luckily, I have records still

The Addison seems nice on the outside but is not a good place to live. The sound insulation is very poor and I can hear every footstep of my neighbor above me. Especially bad is when they vacuum upstairs. I can hear EVERYTHING. That may be fine when you're living somewhere that is cheaper but not when you're paying top dollar to live here. There should be no compromises.

Also bad is the maintenance response. It took them weeks to remove some paint that was left on my door handle from construction and to fix a light in my bathroom that wasn't working. In my last building issues like this were fixed in a day. Finally, the other tenants leave all sorts of trash in the trash room and it just piles up. I am looking to move out of here as soon as possible!

So this company became our apartment's management since last year. I'm writing this because they shut the water down without notification for the second time. No water what so ever.

I have not had a lot of encounters with SC properties to give too much information but Kevin Phillips handles things in my opinion promptly especially when there's been miscommunication in emails not meant for me he has gotten back to me immediately explaining that these emails were not supposed to be for me and eased my mind. I have never really had any maintenance issues so I cannot comment on that but I'm sure that they're handled fairly promptly as well. Kevin Phillip is polite and courteous I'm sure he would handle your property management needs as well as a renters needs efficiently. I only had one bad encounter with a young man at the office but never saw him again after that.

Update: an electrician was sent on Monday morning and the issue was fixed. Thanks. Well, I've lived in a property managed by Lindsey Baggetta since last August. The service was pretty good for the last year and they had sent in a plumber very soon when we complained about some particles in our water. But that's history now. We returned from Phoenix, Arizona yesterday night to find many of our plugs not working, none of the lights can be switched on (imagine going to the bathroom in the dark).

We made an urgent service request yesterday night. Today, it's 4:40 pm and all that we have heard back from them is that to find our circuit breaker and change the fuse. We could not locate the circuit breaker and have repeatedly asked for help, nor do we have the technical expertise of fiddling with electrical circuits. They have not sent in an electrician despite complaining more than 10 times. Our fridge and microwave are not working, our groceries are spoiled. We can't cook. They just do not seem to care. Never rent from them, fellow Yelpers.

These folks at SC Properties are very professional at their job. They are prompt on handling service requests and responsive on various other rental issues. I would like to appreciate the professionalism shown by Kevin Phillips in handling the recent issue with the laundry machines.

The worse people to deal with I had been in one of their place twice. And both times after one year, they rise the rent for $200. More And well I didn't say nothing, And after two months they sent me a letter Saying that the owner wants the place back because He was going to make some remodeling which never happened because after 3 years, I went back to rent with them and the place was exactly the same That happened to all the people who rent from them My sister was renting with them, two friends were renting with them and it happened the same thing Plus they never ever return any money left from the deposit. They are also racist, I noticed that if you have no ssc, they treat you like shet Sorry for my vocabulary, but I am very disappointed

We lived in an SC Property apartment for 3+ years. The building was old and poorly maintained. Biggest issue was the mold, which they clearly know about but paint over in the hopes that you don't notice. Health hazard for sure. And then they take the 'damage' out of your security deposit.? They also need to be more professional in their communications.

Hand written notes on binder paper left on my windshield isn't the most effective way to communicate a message to me. Some good people that work in the office for sure, but they clearly don't care about tenants. Lucky it's the Bay Area and supply is so low, so they don't have to address any of these issues. I won't be renting from them again.

I have been renting from Sc properties for more than 5 years and it has been a very pleasant experience. I worked with Raquel and she was always helpful, very responsive and on top of various issues. She is very easy to work with, and able to easily adapt to various situations even with a busy workload. I really like her flexibility making things always easy. Their team doing maintenance/repair is also very efficient and saved my day numerous times. I highly recommend doing business with Raquel at Sc properties.

When reviewing a property management, I feel like you don't really know how they truly are until you've rented for a while AND, especially, when you're moving out. So I suppose we will know more later, this is just on our moving IN experience. ANDREW, is one of the best agents I've met with. He gave us our space when looking, and was not pushy like some agents are.

He followed up with us, and overall has been courteous with us. He's helped us with any issues we had moving in, like maintenance and finding our parking spot. I have no complaints and like living here so far!

I've been renting from Sc properties for over 10yrs and they have always been eager to maintain my property. Raquel is always helpful whenever I have any questions, comments or concerns and I hope to continue to stay at the property indefinitely.

This place is so sketchy. First of all, they will never show you their apartments if you miss their Open House; and their open house is usually conducted early morning on weekdays. They refused to show me the apartment even though I got approved for it. Second, without me even seeing the place, they required $1600 deposit by cash or cashier's check and make it payable to some "G&C".

I found the apartment on the SC Property website, and now I have to pay to some "other" company?! Are they subleasing these apartments or what? That sounds so shady. Third, they never mention if the deposit is refundable. My fear is that I will pay $1600 cash/cashiers check for the apartment I never even saw to the "mysterious company" I know nothing about and I am not even sure that they will return me my money if I don't get the apartment. I'll pass, thanks.

I lived in one of the apartments managed by Mark Weigner/SC Properties, and while I'm sure Mark is a wonderful person, I learned about new depths of incompetence. Since move-in, there were issues with the apartment that I repeatedly reminded him to fix (eg. washers and dryers are broken in the laundry room -- and they've remained broken for about a year).

He was been great about responding to say that he'll get on it; unfortunately that's the extent of his action on nearly 100% of maintenance requests. (And to be fair, there was one issue that I asked him about for four months that he finally fixed). So, if you enjoy reminding someone constantly about something and waiting patiently to see if they'll ever do it (while handing in your rent check dutifully on time), renting from SC Properties would be the Most Amazing Experience. Ever.

This goes out to the staff who helped respond to an urgent call with my building last week. A special thanks to the staff who were very proactive in getting in touch with me to identify issues, provide update of fixes and subsequently seeking my feedback on the repair. I was a little hesitant as when we switched building / property managers recently, but it is the efforts of staff like Teri and Jessica who help instill confidence in their service.

1/2 hour to go see a property and then compete against 15 other couples within that time and then the person in charge of the property took a credit check deposit, which she said would be returned if we didn't get the apt. 1 month later, didn't get the apartment and repeatedly asked for my money back : - they stole my moneyyyyy! It essentially felt like a scheme.
