Services
Sea Turtle Getaways traces its origins back to Shoreline Rentals, and Charles and Ellen Taylor. The Taylors moved to the island in 1983 and founded Shoreline Rentals, and their three children followed them down and joined on. Thus, a family business was born! After 16 successful years in business, Shoreline was sold to Resortquest in 1999.
Sea Turtle Getaways is a privately owned and locally operated property management and vacation rental service. We specialize is providing quality care for your home or villa and furnishing you with rental income for property located on Hilton Head Island. We pride ourselves on our honesty, integrity and ability to stay focused to one commitment, providing rental income for your investment.
Hilton Head Island offers over 12 miles of beautiful beaches. Our beaches are easily accessible from any of our accommodations and are the perfect setting for long walks, bike riding, kite flying, beachcombing & building sandcastles. Our beaches are home to a variety of wildlife including starfish, sand dollars, hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs and whelks.
Hilton Head Island and the surrounding Lowcountry offer more than 25 golf courses for your enjoyment. House has plumbing issues and unfortunately we had to find out the hard way. First night stay the entire main floor was not usable as we entered the home to find 2-3 inches of standing water. Its clear the home has dealt with water issues based on the water stains and peeling along the floor trim. First night had to spend hours waiting on plumbers to diagnose the issue, and a water extraction team to pump out water, clean, and disinfect the floor.

Water extraction team was pumping water until after midnight. 4 of the beds are on the main floor so folks had to sleep on the floor upstairs the first night. Second day similar issues as the main floor water backed up into the tub/shower and toilet causing inches of standing water in the bathroom. Plumber was sent and had to scope lines to help clear the issue.

The home being managed by Sea Turtle Getaways clearly is lacking in maintenance, cleaning, and overall care. Patio furniture is so dirty and covered in algae that is it not useable, cockroaches found inside, just overall outdated and you can tell the home has not been cared for and is just used for rent. Very unfortunate stay as we love the area and Hilton Head and our stay was only for 3 nights so 50% of the stay was dealing with issues on the rental. Would not recommend or stay here again, and would avoid any rental managed by Sea Turtle Getaways.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They notified us less than 24 hrs before we were scheduled to check-in that they had double booked the home and wouldn't be able to accommodate us. We were already on the island. How is this ok? You're welcome for the loan. What a scam. There should be a law that they have to pay a fee to the customer for something like this.

Critical: Quality Pillow cases on master bed were disgusting! Guest shower, on its lowest setting, gets scalding hot! Sea Turtle Getaways did resolve most of the issues that we brought to their attention.

Rented a house via Sea Turtle Getaways just a few weeks back. The house was in poor shape. Stains on the carpet. Painting feinting on the door etc. Felt misled by the picture on the website. In addition the bathrooms were not clean when we arrived. There was mold in the shower door railing and some hair from the previous occupants. Grill was all rusted and unsanitary. Giving two stars as Sea Turtle Getaways acknowledged the issue and promptly sent house keeping to clean the bathrooms again which was a slight improvement. This house should not have been on the rental market in its current state and we were disappointed with the agency lack of transparency.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality Disgusting unit covered in dust, debris under the beds, foreign hairs in bathroom, the list goes on. When raised to the owner they told me it was unfair to send cleaners out and that they do not plan to do anything to remedy the situation. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, HORRIBLE PEOPLE AND SERVICE!

We had an amazing experience with Sea Turtle Getaways! Housekeeping did an incredible job cleaning! They also found and returned a very important jewelry item to me. Very dependable and professional company. Renee, the owner, was so responsive and provides high quality care. We look forward to staying with them again in the future!

Such an amazing place to stay withbout standing views to the pool, beach and ocean. Our condo was modern/beachy decor. Very roomy and so comfortable. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. We have and will continue to recommend Sea Turtle and the owners of the condos (Manes) to stay at their condo. Thank you! Grisham Family

Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay due to COVID, but I was in contact with Renee, the owner. She was feisty and helpful in taking on the fight to return my deposit from the 3rd party vendor that we used to book the property. She is trying to do the right thing by people and that means a lot. We will certainly returning to Hilton Head when we are able & I'll be looking to rent directly through Sea Turtle Getaways and skip the middle man!

Rented 704 Schooner for two months in Feb. and March. Upon entering unit there was a terrible musty smell. A large water stain from floor to 1/4 way up curtain by patio door. This unit has not been updated for years. Baseboards dirty, handle coming off freezer door, burners on old stove so uneven pan would not sit on it evenly, no stopper in master bath sink, water would not drain from tub in guest bath, etc.

On one rainy day water was raining in patio door enough to fill 15-20 large drinking glasses. If we were not there the living room would have been soaked in water. Sure rugs must have been soaked before we arrived and reason for smell. When we returned home all our clothes (I mean all) had that musty smell on them. When we told about these problems we were basically laughed at.

A couple of weeks later they did come and fix leak. A neighbor who lives there full time said that he has only seen owner there maybe once in five years and that he stays somewhere else. We left early because of smell. Just be aware if choosing to rent.

Sea Turtle Getaways switched our Townhouse **without telling us, and gave us the same three numbered address, but 2 numbers transposed. We recognized it after we returned from a disgusting experience at 302 Tennis Master in the Shipyard Plantation neighborhood. No, we didn't call Sea Turtles, because we were overwhelmed with just trying to help our family have a nice visit.

Following is a recap of what the town house was like: Furniture - grimy, filthy, old, purchased most likely at a resale store. Dining room seat covers were soiled heavily. Mattresses & linens - thin and threadbare (I used towels over the pillowcases since they appeared paper thin.) Toilet & bathroom - One tub was terribly dangerous, started at *floor level, yes you heard me correctly.

One toilet upstairs had a reverberation after each flush that lasted several minutes and resounded all the way to the bottom floor. Kitchen- cabinets grubby, unclean, trace of old stained shelf paper, dishwasher handle took two of us to close it. Floors - dust-covered, sooty not swept and we purchased mop and broom to do our own version of making it inhabitable. Rugs were cheap and nasty as well.

We had a small child with us, had to clear those out of the way. I called and spoke with Kay just now, who said, "owner decided to use the initial town house you were assigned." "Why didn't you call us? (Kay)" (Explained above). We asked for parking passes way ahead of time. We rec'd email that we only had two bedrooms, so no -. Today management was brusque, defensive and cold in their response. You can't trust anyone these days. The booking was purchased through VRBO, so be aware of that as well.

Had a problem with parking. My daughters brand new civic went off the concrete slab and busted something underneath. We pulled up to make room for another vehicle to park behind us to keep from getting hit by another car amd therefore our car went off the concrete. There was not anything marked or a warning there was a drop off. We had to take our car to honda and order part and pay for labor. Kay at sea turtle getaways was not helpful or nice about the situation.

They would not reimburse me for any of our damages! We had respect for their property and expected the same in return! Also my dogs didnt go on this vacation with us and I didnt receive the pet fee back! Will not rent from this place again!
