Since 2010, SearchLight Properties has been helping people navigate the real estate market along California's Central Coast, from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara County. We are a full-service real estate firm, which means that we offer commercial and residential brokerage, investment opportunities, and property management.
Gloria divides her time between interacting with clients, supervising staff, and developing and implementing policies to ensure compliance and the highest standards of quality. She is excited about SearchLight's future and looks forward to participating in the firm's evolution. Before joining SearchLight, Gloria served for 14 years as an administrator at a local laboratory, worked for Dignity Health, and studied at Alan Hancock College. This experience prepared her well for her role at SearchLight, which requires strong organizational and leadership skills.
Michelle is the founder of SearchLight Properties and its principal broker. She started investing in real estate while working in the corporate world, and eventually converted her passion into a profession. I get excited about real estate and investing. I love what I do, she says. I enjoy the thrill of working a deal and investing in the future.

Commercial real estate encompasses a wide range of assets, including multifamily properties, shopping centers, retail condominiums, office buildings, and industrial/warehouse facilities. After having our commercial property listed for several years with another broker and not having any offers and few showings, we moved the listing to Michelle Shipman at Searchlight Properties. Within 90 days with Michelle, we received an offer and opened escrow! The negotiations and escrow were handled professionally by Michelle and her great staff leaving both buyer and seller very happy. We decided to use a property management company reluctantly due to a past bad experience. To great surprise, SearchLight not only found us a home quickly but a home that fit everything we were looking for. We ran into some issues, the past renter did not clean properly but I was so pleased when the issues were resolved without question and without any time wasted.
We love our new home and love the fact that we can trust in a company to meet our needs/expectations as renters. I'm looking forward to purchasing a home through SearchLight properties. Lyss at the front desk always greeted me with a positive attitude, even when I called 5 times a day. And Stephanie was so thorough with everything and super flexible.

My husband and I bought our first house with Searchlight Properties! No one said that buying a house would be easy, let alone a short sale! Michelle was very patient and knowledgeable with our needs and wants when it came to purchasing a house. She was also great with providing us updates and being firm with the broker when she needed to be. It also helps that she's a prior military so she knows how the military can be and what benefits are out there. So next time you are looking for houses or trying to sell give this company a call!
