For a base fee of $750 per month, they did was essentially managing bills, which in this modern day of age, really is unnecessary and on the verge of being greedy. Everything else requires $75 per hour. Like the only good review said, I am only satisfied by their cleaning crew. However, compared to other cleaning services we later used, is also on the pricey side.

I confess, contemplating hiring VPM to manage our second home in Pebble Beach after reading the existing Yelp reviews was daunting. However, after 6 months of working with them, we could not be happier. Juliet is very responsive to my inquiries regardless of the day or hour. The team she has assembled to help with home management is exceptional--especially their housekeeping crew.

Her referrals to outside vendors have been top notch. After being in business for a number of years, VPM has developed close working relationships with local vendors--and it shows. I have tried out other home management companies in the area and have not been satisfied. VPM is the first that I have found to be exceptional. I highly recommend them and I am happy to support a locally owned business.

I, too, had bad experiences with VPM. The first occurred when I returned home 15 minutes earlier than I was told only to be confronted by one of the owners who yelled and screamed at me."what are you doing here?". I told her I knew I should not have arrived early, was sorry because it did not give her an opportunity to check out the house, but she was absolutely furious with me and out of control.

This went on for maybe 5 minutes until I finally told her to "get out of my house". On another occasion, I didn't notice until a few days after I was home that there was a floor lamp missing. I called and no one knew anything about it. I finally went into the office and there it was it the back room with the head of the apothecary lamp dangling.

They offered nothing to repair the lamp. And, lastly, I recently returned and found a broken soap dish, a broken lamp shade, and 2 plates that were on my wall damaged. The refused to fix then and told me to get them out or they would throw them away. Sent me a token check for $100. They threatened me and told me to not make any negative comments about them. NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL

They took over our property when they bought their business from another owner. We had many problems with them. Probably the worst was when I caught the handyman, Mr. Montes, staying at the house. The kitchen had lots of food left out. We had complaints about rats. Their gardener charged 850.00 for planting a few plants. They nickeled and dimed us till there wasn't any money left in our account. They rented to dogs but our contract said no dogs. They threatened to sue us because they claimed we were prejudiced against Latin Americans. Buyer beware.

I really don't like to leave bad reviews however I felt it was necessary for others to know what to expect. I was looking for a vacation rental for 3 months in Carmel By The Sea. I contacted vintage property during the week to inquire on a vacation rental as they have no pricing or available dates on their website, I received a response asking for more information and I provided it almost immediately.

Well that's as far as it went, I have not heard back, not so much as a I'm sorry we have nothing available or we are extremely busy and will get back to you soon, nope absolutely nothing! I have sent 3 follow up messages and even called and still no response. I'm appalled at the lack of follow up and response and one can only assume they must have so many customers they don't need another one.

We had a VERY poor experience with Vintage Property after we put our Carmel house up for short term rentals under their management. After one year we had only two weeks of actual occupancy while the cost had gone up significantly. They, indeed, were making true of their professed differentiation: "provide everything to the renter".leaving it up to the house owner to take on the additional cost.

After one year, we decided to move the management to a new agency. After just 5 months they already have secured 7 weeks of booking at a better price. And guess what: The house is impeccable and the cost is where it should be! When we cancelled our contract with Vintage property, two renting contracts were transferred. Much to our dismay we found out that one of these had agreed that the tenants could bring a large dog instead of a small one (the only time we discussed such a concession since the floors are completely redone and the lawn brand new) and that the necessary guarantees (in particular hardwood floor and garden) were not in place.

We never saw the contract before it was signed by V.P. When we requested that additional protections be put in place, the renter refused and decided to go elsewhere. In the meantime our new agency had discovered that they had a history of damage to another Carmel property done by the dog during the previous year. We cannot help but question Vintage Property's integrity in not sharing this with us.

We lost 4 months' of rent and Vintage Property went to court to force us to pay the $5000 commission for a rent which never materialized. Property owners: Make sure not to sign the clause which guarantees VP them a commission if, as you cancel your agreement with them, the potential renters decide to forego the rent. Conclusion: We have found VP to be difficult to work with, not trustworthy and with a mission which values renters against home owners and above all themselves. If we had known what we know now, we never would have contracted them. Beware!
