We had a great experience working with Sharon, even in the midst of a very challenging closing process. The home we bought is considered "unconventional" which added complications and caused heaps of delays. She has so much experience in this part of New Mexico and has good relationships with other professionals who were able to work with us, even on short notice in some cases. Sharon is extremely knowledgeable both within the real estate world as well as in-general plus she is a lovely, no-nonsense person which is a rare combination. The day we met Sharon she asked excellent questions and SHE LISTENED (of which both are critical) - we love our new home! We would not hesitate to recommend her.

We just bought a house in Taos and had a fantastic experience working with Sharon! Taos is a unique place in most ways and it's definitely a unique place for buying a house; Sharon was extremely knowledgeable, insightful and honest throughout the entire process - orienting us to the different areas and sharing insights we never would have been able to discover ourselves. Sharon's knowledge base is both deep and wide and I love her honest, straightforward style.
We had to deal with some difficulties with the seller near our close, but Sharon dealt with the situation with aplomb, fiercely advocating for us and guiding the the deal to a graceful conclusion. If you are looking for an agent in Taos who is responsive, helpful and insightful, I don't think you'll do better than Sharon. Can't recommend her enough!

Sharon did it again for us! After providing us essential support in buying our house a year and a half ago, we asked her to be our seller's agent in selling the same house. From the start her representation was professional and positioned our house in the best possible way. She took excellent photos and made a narrated video to show on her website and the major websites facing toward buyers interested in Taos properties.
She advised us on pricing and repairs to make before showings. She negotiated with potential buyers and was able to get us a very fair price in the end. Sharon Gilster was AMAZING. Even though she was the listing agent and I was working with another realtor, Sharon took the time to answer all of my Qs and guide me through New Mexico's close process, which the realtor who was supposed to be representing me did not have the knowledge or expertise to do. Sharon also helped me find local movers, a handyman, a cleaning person, and repair crews to ensure my new home was as close to perfect as possible at move-in, all of which fell outside of her duties as the listing agent.
Best of all, she recommended a couple of excellent local restaurants--welcome information to a new resident with no friends or family in the area. Moves are difficult, complicated, stressful events, but Sharon went above and beyond to make my move smooth and easy all while making me feel like a welcome member of this wonderful new community. I recommend her unreservedly.
